Phenomenal food, phenomenal service, drinks were amazing, ambience was perfect. This is a must go!
Overall a great experience. The atmosphere is gorgeous. There are so many beautiful elements to the space. The food was very good but there was no kids menu. Portions are on the small side and the kids were able to completely finish dishes from the regular menu (they mostly loved the burgers and fries and the french toast). Waitress was not very attentive but perhaps she had too many tables? Waited quite awhile for coffees because they ran out of coffee cups but we weren't charged for them. Will definitely return for brunch again!
Had a wonderful brunch on Sunday! Social distancing was done very well. Our waiter was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed our time at 5 Church!
5Church is a must for brunch in Charleston. Food was awesome. Will definitely go back once we return. I would recommend if you are a party of "2" to sit at the bar.....we made reservations for a table and the tables are very close together. Probably would have heard more of our conversation if we were closer (which would of been if we were seated at the bar).
Beautiful building absolutely a must see! Great food!
Simply amazing. It was so good we went to brunch there both mornings! Crab vs Eggs was incredibly fresh and delicious. Their biscuits are the size of the plate and to die for, not dried out at all.
Our server was a bit of a dork. He kept telling us that the food was “fire.” Only to bring our food after it had been sitting out for a bit and was cold.
Great atmosphere- food would have been great. Server- dork.
Just all around an awesome spot! Great food, great cocktails, great service. Ambience is awesome
Great atmosphere but the live music made it very difficult to talk during dinner. I’d go back for drinks but have dinner elsewhere.
Had heard about this place. My daughter booked it for my BFF and my weekend getaway to celebrate my 70th birthday. The drinks and appetizers were out of this world! By far the best meal all weekend! Thank you,
We went for Sunday lunch but didn’t stay based on the lack of Covid controls. The restaurant was packed and we were seated less than 3 ft from the table next to us. Hostess didn’t even ask if it was ok. They did not seem to limit capacity at all. We ended up leaving which is too bad because we’ve heard good things about the food and the building is awesome.
Extremely awesome service! Great food and atmosphere
Food was fun, interesting and delicious. My grouper was outstanding and the scallops were so flavorful. The wine was perfect for the meal. The dining crowd was energetic and fun.
The food was amazing as was the service
Tables are way too close together. I could have touched the people sitting next to us. I would definitely say it appears they are operating at 100% capacity. 😷 I felt uncomfortable because we were way too close.
Overall the experience was good the food was good. 4 if us we had the porkchop the felet of beef and scallops. The suchi bites for apitizer. Its noisy so a little hard to have conversation. We were celebrating 2 Birthday's they brought out two desserts with candles that was nice but the desserts were just ok.. the special coffee was a delish touch... over all we enjoyed it.
We took our kids here for brunch after going in late 2019. The food was as good as we remembered (the biscuits!!!!) as were the mimosas and Bloody Mary’s. Great way to start a Saturday.
Overall it was a very good experience! I saw the buzz about this place online and while it was good, I did expect a little more. Our $14 appetizer was 3 bites (arancini) so that was a bit of a downer. But our lamb burgers were great, and the beer/wine selection was awesome. I would recommend it to someone, but not sure I’ll be back
Cool building, big comfortable booths. Lunch was delicious! The fried meatloaf sandwich was fantastic (sounds weird but it works). Fried chicken BLT was very good. The pork loin sandwich was good but was sweet, which I wasn't prepared for. The appetizers are the best in Charleston. Got to have the Southern Pimento with the homemade lavish chips--this is not your grandma's pimento cheese--this is so much better. And those chips-light wafery chips-sooo good! Also had the Arancini (fried balls of broccoli and cheese in a sauce)--very delicious. Our server was top notch. Highly recommend this place!
Absolutely incredible! Presley, our server, was outstanding. We were celebrating the life and birthday of loved one who recently passed. He was so accommodating and made the night so incredibly special. We cannot wait to go back! Amazing food, atmosphere, drinks, and service!
It was good we had a good waiter although we had hoped to have Oysters I did not have them available at lunchtime found it was my birthday and they brought out a dessert one I knew it was my birthday and not even a candle anyway besides that it was a good experience
My husband and I did a getaway, and 5 Church, was recommended to us by a family friend who said it was a must. I will have to agree, this place was amazing!
The food was fabulous. Our waiter, was friendly and upbeat and very attentive! From the time you walk through the door everybody is very welcoming, and for being such a large open area with cathedral ceilings, it had a very relaxing atmosphere!!
If you ever go to the historic district of Charleston please visit 5 Church! You will be having an amazing meal and experience.
The pictures of the space, the high rating, and the “posh” description caught my interest and I booked a table for late on a Wednesday night. The food and wine were excellent. The service was average. However the interiors and overall experience don’t approach Posh. The only soft surfaces are people and their clothing. There was a singer, who was fine but the volume was crushingly loud. We asked to be moved but that didn’t help. We asked for him to be turned down but the server indicated that wasn’t possible. At $200 for 2, we would have loved to have been able to talk. We bolted as soon as we finished the entrees with raging headaches. We will not go back. Too bad because the food was so good.
Amazing dinner as always!! Would have preferred seating away from the music, but other than that, we love 5 Church!
A local recommended this restaurant!!
The place is beautiful!! It use to be a church!! The food was great and we were able to walk from our hotel The Vendue. Recommend both!!
We had the best experience here in the 4 days we were in Charleston. The waiter, Jon, was excellent. He made our anniversary dinner there welcoming and memorable! Definitely one of the top restaurants in the city!!!! Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection and the cronuts were amazing!!! We will be back!!!!!
Appetizer balls w broccoli had no broccoli and no taste. Appetizer board was good. Ravioli was like a dumpling. Most had no filling. Bass was good. Waiter was exceptional.
Horrible service. Appetizers came out with entrees. Upon asking the waiter why appetizers were served with the entrees she looked at me and said nothing. Waiter had zero personality and did not come back after dropping food to inquire if we needed anything else or refill water or tea.
Hostess crew also needs training. I had made a reservation and was seated at a table in the back by the wait station and the pass thru between main dining room. There we plenty of tables that we could have been seated at but they chose the worst possible table to seat us at.
DELICIOUS!!!
2 out of 3 entrees were unfortunately cold.
Service was terrific and food delicious. A bit surprised that tables were not spaced further apart due to COVID
It was good
Great atmosphere! We had the lobster bisque, fried chicken and lamb burger! They were very good, but the atmosphere is a must-visit in Charleston!
The food wasn’t great. I ordered the pasta and it was so thick you could really only taste dough.
Sushi tots and drinks were amazing. Our server...Ian? I believe was so complimentary and helpful. Definitely coming back in May!
Decor and scenery was phenomenal, food was great and our waiter John was so helpful. He took pictures of us at every angle, told us where to go next and gave us a lot of history on the place. Highly recommend.
The food was amazing as was the bartender Treven. Great experience!
Just an amazing space and the food and service was the best we had in charleston
The setting was phenomenal, however, it took us two hours to get through a couple of drinks, one appetizer and 1 entree each (2 total) because service was very slow. Tables all around us were there for shorter periods of time and received explanation/redress from service and management for slow service but we did not. It was a bit of a bummer because this was the one experience we were really looking forward to! The food was definitely tasty, I just wish we didn’t have to wait so long.
This place is so Unique & a must try! Have been wanting to try it from hearing so much about it & it did not disappoint. Our server was nice and our food delicious! Food didn't take long at all. And the drinks are unlimited in choice of what you can have! Great vibe if you are looking for somewhere to have a nice dinner or just a drink!
