This restaurant is where you should take your date on a anniversary or bd. Not for a first date. My lord them prices are off the food chain. Just a 4 oz or 8 oz of waygu will cost you between 175$-330$. So make sure you save up money before you make reservations here.
Service was excellent, and the food was great.
Way overpriced for the food you get. Sorry but it’s the truth!
It was ok not great I like Alexander steak house better
Loved, loved, loved the whole experience. Highly recommend it!
Decent place though nothing to go over the top about.
The interior ambience was very nicely. The service was very good. My only complaint is that my NY steak came out luke warm as if it was sitting for a little while before being brought out to me. Perhaps the server was waiting fir the other food and my steak got a little cold. I would try this place again but will probably try other steak houses first.
Been here twice - the food and staff are amazing. We love it for a Friday after work date night.
This time however the music was a bit louder than last time and meant people at the tables also talked louder.
Caitlin was amazing
Pretty nicely stocked bar, good variety of Japanese whiskey (pretty overpriced though). So, I asked for my usual Oban (was kn the menu). They didn't have it in stock, so I moved to Macallan. Appetizers were good (we got the fried Shishito peppers and wagyu sliders). Steaks are nice quality and there medium (That's what I usually order) is pretty nice and tender inside. So, happy about it.
The 7 deg Coffee desert was a nice portion and would be good for 3.to share :)
Overall a great experience. Staff is very attentive.
Excellent service. Average food. High prices. Very... meh.
Excellent, but expensive restaurant, great for special occasions. Great for special occasions. Can't go wrong with any of the American cuts, but best known for their Japanese waygu if you're willing to pay up for a top dollar experience.
The food was insanely expensive, marginally tasty, and very small meat portions.
The steaks showed up on room temperature plates and the meat was warm, not fresh off the grill.
The waiter resisted making eye contact with my female dining partner when she was choosing the wine. The waiter keep t looking at me.
I tried 5A5 because I couldn’t get a reservation at a local steakhouse (Harris, house of prime rib, etc. ). But given the choice, next time Morton’s rather than 5A5.
Brought wife for birthday. Very disappointed. Took about an hour to get our food. Waiter only checked on us maybe 2 times in a 2 hour window. Dead bug found on plate and the manager didn’t stop by to apologize or anything. I usually don’t complain, but when you pay $200 for a meal, it should meet a certain standard.
The service does not match the price. The taste of the food is average, not like the restaurant selling premium beef. The steak recommended by the waiter was not delicious, too.
Great service especially from Kevin!
The apps were all excellent.
Food was inconsistent. My husbands steak was less than an inch thick. No what he expected for a New York. Our friends ordered prime rib. They said it was good but not outstanding. For the price they expected outstanding. We ordered 2 desserts, both only OK. It was my birthday so they could have told I would get a complimentary dessert but they didn't. It came after we ordered and ate dessert. My daughter called the restaurant and ordered 4 after dinner drinks to surprise us. They never came. She was not charged but it ruined a nice surprise. We will not return. Too many other place we like that serve good food, have great service and are less expensive.
They have high quality food - but I had to ask for sauces on the side - because they wanted to smother great pieces of meat with sauces and sides. Don’t overthink it.
Great service, fun weird ambiance, super expensive but only on the A5 Wagyu, everything else was reasonable.
i used to love this place, but the last few times have been disappointing. I've been here 10+ times and the food just isn't what it used to be. Salads are very small, the ribeye was flavorless and the bacon in the mashed potatoes was incredibly chewy. Unfortunately the last visit was my last. They push the kobe beef, which is insanely expensive and even with no wine dinner for 2 was north of $250 - kinda silly for bad food and sharing of app, salad and steak.
Great food. Excellent service. I would definitely recommend this place to all the people i know.
Great food. Really great food. The Steak - no matter if you get the expensive Waygu or the still expensive non-Waygu steak - is cooked very well and tastes oh so yummy. The add-on sides, too, are very good. We had mashed potatoes and mac-n-cheese... granted they were yummy, as they should be for almost $20 a serving. The steak - my wife never tried Waygu before, and since we also had a gift certificate, she wanted to try it. Luckily the gift card covered her $170 4-ounce Waygu ribeye steak. They do talk it up, saying that the cows are played classical music, are massaged daily, have Tolstoy read to them... and sure it melts like butter in your mouth, but roughly 4 bites at $40+ a bite later... it still ends up in the same place as the $20 potato and the $20 mac and cheese. Don't get me wrong... it's an experience to realize you're eating a figurative "Cash Cow," but not one I would spend my hard-earned money on again. Nice time though. Wish they catered more to children... when we asked for a glass of milk for our daughter, it seemed as if we were putting them out a bit and inconveniencing them. It took probably 20 minutes or so for them to bring it out. The place, though, is not good for kids under say, 12, or those who don't eat "adult" food. They do have a "vegetarian" meal: beets, carrots and assorted veggies for 25 bucks. At that price, though... best to just stick with the 15 dollar truffle fries.
Not worth price
To expensive for services
Great, full of sophisticated flavor food!! My teen son was a really impressed, which is really rare:) he mentioned that one day he certainly will be back here again!!! Highly recommended for people who appreciate high quality chef’s art work...
Food was mediocre. Not worth it for the price. Better food quality at Ruth Chris
Order medium rare steak, but received medium cook. Menu doesn’t have vegetables listed, so we thought it was included when our waiter asked what vegetables we wanted. Found out all vegetables were not included.
This was my 2nd time I went to this restaurant. 1st time was satisfied so I returned. This time I wasn’t satisfied and I don’t think I’ll come back the 3rd time because I paid so much for the steak that wasn’t what I wanted.
I told the manager that this was the absolute worst dining experience I have ever had. Not that he actually asked or cares about my experience as evidence in his total lack of customer service.
I actually sent my steak back and was so disappointed that I didn’t bother to ask for a replacement.
Salad. Bland. Lacked flavor.
Steak. Bland. Lacked flavor.
Mashed potatoes. Bland. Lacked flavor.
Clearly the Chef doesn’t know cooking 101. Salt and Pepper.
Service was terrible.
20 min to get a sparking water.
Really had high hopes as it was labeled a steak lounge.
Avoid. So many other places to try.
The vibe And scenery of the restaurant was so pleasant. Staff was courteous. Service was fast and in a timely manner. Food was hot, delicious, and fantastic overall. Definitely recommend!
Service was great. Prime rib, mushrooms and sides were poor to average.
Oysters and marrow were good.
I’ve frequented 5A5 many times in the past. I’ve heard others give mix reviews about 5A5 because of the service but I always thought those experiences were flukes, but this last time we went we were finally victims of the bad service everyone was talking about. Our dining experience was awful because of the poor service. We came to celebrate my parents’ 35th wedding anniversary and while it was noted in my reservation, not once were my parents greeted. We never got our sparkling water refilled (which, mind you, is $9) and we felt like our server was purposefully ignoring us. He would literally stand about 2 feet from our table and not once glance at us to check in even though we were trying to get his attention. We didn’t do anything wrong, so I don’t know why we got the type of service we did. We even noticed he would revisit a table twice before coming to our table. On the receipt his name was “John” - it was unfortunate and we were all really disappointed with our dining experience. They get the two stars because the quality of the meat is superb, but lost their other stars and our dining loyalty due to poor service.
We enjoy a lot our Christmas Dinner, the food was amazing.
From the moment we walked in, our dining experience was phenomenal. We we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. It was our first time there and our server made sure we were taken care of. Rebecca was VERY knowledgeable about the food AND the drinks. Every recomendation she made, we took and we were never disappointed. We had the bone marrow, soup du jour, wagyu rib eye, bone-in rib eye and truffle mac and cheese... EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. We also had the japanese whiskey flight and the love with gin. We left fully satisfied. I would highly recomend this place. Food, service, ambience was TOP NOTCH.
We went down 5A5 for Xmas dinner. The 4 Steaks were AMZING!
Whiskeys were great! Very intersting and exciting atmosphere.
We will definitely be back!
Very good ambiance and atmosphere. Also very good whayu cuts of A5 beef . I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food is very good. The service was good. The waiter very friendly and professional.
It was my first time there. I’d go again for happy hour.
Great place for a special occasion! I booked 5A5 with no problems for my boyfriend's birthday and the food was spectacular. Come on an empty stomach because their steak portions are generous. I loved that they gave a special birthday dessert.
Food didn’t come out prepared the way it was ordered. For the price the value did not meet expectations
