The history of this building has ranged from a bonded warehouse to a butter merchants and now we bring you Forty-Four. The history of this vibrant restaurant is evident in the industrialised interior, from the exposed brick work to the metal beams dating back to the last century.

Booking for 18.30, ordered starter and main course, long delay on starter arriving and a long delay on main course arriving, with a curt apology of sorry for the delay, and to cap it all there was an automatic 10% service charge added to the bill. The server did apologise for this, suffice to say an experience that ensures a return is not going to happen.

Great place to socialise, great food , atmosphere and friendly staff. You will need to book. Try their tapas, very tasty.

We enjoyed our meal at 44 Hill St. The tapas to start were delicious. There was a good variety of choices on the menu and reasonably priced. The sugar pit pork chop was great. The Shiraz wine was good. There was a good atmosphere and the restaurant began to fill up quickly. The server was very knowledgeable and efficient. I would definitely go back to 44 Hill St.

The food was not what we expected. We have eaten from here before, but yesterday was disappointing, especially since we brought friends and the preparation and presentation were not great.
