Visiting from central PA. Went to this establishment based on 5-star online reviews but was disappointed. Perhaps it is the best food in Myrtle Beach but the food was only ok and IMHO not worth the price. We had the lobster mac and cheese, the mussels and ahi tuna appetizers, and the scallops. Mussels had a very fishy aftertaste. Scallops were cooked nicely, however. It wasn't a bad experience but just not what I had expected based on the glowing reviews. Perhaps COVID has impacted their kitchen/staff?
Food and service was exceptional. Exceptional flavor on several dished we tried. Wait staff was great. Highly recommend
All four entrees were excellent (scallops, salmon, wellington, red snapper). Calamari and tuna appetizer's were also amazing. Cocktails tasty. No room for dessert! Atmosphere was cozy and comfortable.
Food was mediocre and flavorless at best. The service was great but I wouldn’t recommend. The food was quite pricy given the lack of flavor.
Don’t judge this book by its cover. When we first walked in we joked that they changed a Chinese Restaurant into a Bar and Grill.
The service, the quality, the presentation, and the taste of all the food, from Apps to desert was perfect.
8 of us - We ordered Snapper, Ribeyes, Beef Wellington and kids pizza and fries + deserts....every item was perfect and delicious!!! Even the signature drinks were great!
Go there, you won’t be disappointed!!
We visited while on vacation and were worried about what kind of experience it would be due to COVID - we had already had 2 reservations elsewhere cancelled. Lucky for us! 42nd Street Bar and Grille has excellent service and the food was all exceptional! My pork job was fabulously presented under a smoke filled cloche, and was terrific! My son judged it the best place we ate for the whole week, he’s still talking about the lobster Mac and cheese. Highly recommend!
Always a great meal, definitely one of our go-to places for a more upscale family dinner. We are so happy to see also that they are taking full precautions in social distancing, mask and glove wearing, and overall cleanliness in this strange time of Covid-19.
Calamari appetizer & Shrimp goyza appetizer were amazing! Beef Wellington delicious, Lobster Mac & cheese very good. Nice atmosphere. Both Servers were very efficient and very pleasant. Would definitely go back
What a treasure to find! The food was tremendous and the service - our of this world!! We had the deconstructed beef Wellington- I’d highly recommend it!!
And the shrimp appetizer is not to be missed. Oh and the leek and pesto butter dipping sauce - wow!!
While the selection is somewhat limited, the quality is superb. What they do offer, they do very well and that's a good thing. Our family had steak, chicken and fish. All dishes were fantastic. We'll definitely be back.
We had a great night. We had a large party and there was a second large party having a birthday. The kitchen got a little backed up but the owner sent appetizers and gave us free dessert. We were having such a good time we didn’t even notice but the owner was on top of it. I would recommend to anyone and I can’t wait return.
Amazing place for a date night
The deconstructed Beef Wellington is my favorite entre at the beach. The cucumber martini and seared tuna were excellent
HOLY CRAP IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our snapper arrived 45 minutes after being ordered. It was dry and tasteless. Our server completely comp’d the fish and was very apologetic. Very disappointed for a classy restaurant to serve a dish like this.
Super yummy food, great appetizers, excellent beat salad, great fish , everything super fresh, nice presentation , quiet atmosphere
Delicious food and great service! It was great being out for the first time in a while!
Not respecting social
Distancing. Wait staff did not wear masks. We will not go back
The service and food here is excellent. We had a birthday dinner for my 80 year old aunt here. Everyone loved it!!
Fantastic place. Amazing quality and taste of food. High level service.
Absolutely horrific service. There was only one waiter serving entire restaurant. He was friendly and trying but totally overwhelmed. After an hour and a half we still hadn’t even received appetizers. We asked for our bill so we could leave and server asked us to wait while he checked with the manager/owner. Was shocked to discover manager was sitting behind the bar chatting with customers there rather than working the kitchen and dining areA. The server brought back our bill with not even so much as a discount on the three rounds of drinks we had while waiting on food. And the manager didn’t bother to come over to apologize for the awful service. I would recommend to all not yo waste a trip here but I’m sure they won’t be in business much longer so you’ll avoid the hassle we had!
Food was bad, they were understaffed and not seating with appropriate distancing... we waited for our food for so long we ended up leaving.
Always the best. Great food, great service,
Hands down one of the best places to eat. Loved the Pork Chop and cheese cake
The service at the restaurant was excellent along with the food. I was not aware of the restaurant in spite of the fact I lived here for 24 years. I discovered the restaurant, because my church rented the space upstairs.
One of Myrtle's really great places
Awesome little secret in Myrtle Beach. No crowds, gourmet food. Guarantee you won’t be sorry or go away hungry. It’s a must do spot every time we’re in MB.
Great food excellent service
Went there for my birthday. The food was absolutely amazing. There was 5 of us and we all ordered something different. Everyone was pleased with their meal and the service was great! Would definitely recommend.
First time at 42nd Street Bar & Grill. Don't let the name or location fool you, this isn't typical bar food. This is delicious, amazing food. From ribeyes, to filets, to pork chops, salmon, scallops and more. Everything was phenomenal.
Our server, Bill, greeted us at the door and provided attentive service throughout our meal. He was humorous and sincere. The Tuna Tataki was an outstanding appetizer and the fried Calamari was the best we've ever had. An extra drizzle of aeoli would have been nice but we enjoyed both appetizers a lot. The deconstructed Beef Welliington was fine and the scallop entree was also very good. The salt caramel cheesecake should not be missed. This place is mellow, not overly fussy, and makes for a very pleasant dining experience.
I almost hate to share this for fear that it becomes too popular! Not the largest menu in the world, but enough variety to satisfy every taste. They have an amazing presentation of the smoked dishes that are available.
The owner (John Lombardo) is the bartender and is attentive to the guests as well as his excellent wait staff. We chose to eat at the bar, which is next to the open kitchen area, as we enjoy seeing meal prep activities by the numerous staff.
The place is quite small (quaint - in a very good way) in an unassuming strip mall location. We checked it out on a whim a few months back and just had to come again this trip. It’s not a loud place, and it’s obvious many locals dine here.
Extremely reasonable prices are the icing on top of the cake. You owe it to yourself to try it. But if you go, please save us a seat!
This small restaurant has a pleasant, quiet, upscale casual atmosphere. Service throughout the meal was impeccable. The menu, while limited, presents a creative approach to each of the variety of dishes on offer. The mussels in miso broth was a delightful appetizer. Both the beef and pork entrees were well prepared, but we wished the potato and asparagus sides had been served hotter. The wine list has sufficient variety at reasonable prices. We were too sated to try dessert. Definately recommended for an intimate evening with a special someone or a few friends. We will return.
While it was not a particularly busy dinner hour, staff could not have been more accommodating. Our server was able to provide details on every offering and his timing between cocktails, appetizer, entree, and dessert was impeccable. Not only was the presentation of each dish extremely appealing, the freshness of the food was apparent in every bite - they must have a superior chef!
We had a great experience..:super food, great service from Bill. Another Myrtle beach great find...
New Years Eve. Best fine dining in Myrtle beach. Everything exceptional !!!
Loved our time here. Food was great. Service was the best. Our little gal was right on the ball.
New Years Eve dinner with friends. Food, service, and welcome was warm, enjoyable, and without any issues.
