Our waitress, Caroline, was all smiles, friendly and engaging. She kept our iced tea glasses filled, made sure we had everything we needed in a timely manner and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Wonderful lunch location. The crab cake salad was amazing (and so much food). What a treat!
First time to 42 and was treated like a dignitary!! Very enjoyable lunch, sat at the magnificent view overlooking the river from the cool air conditioned inside. Looking forward to fall and sitting on the inviting patio. Food was almost as good as my company :-) Truly outstanding.
We had a party of three during our visit. All of us are in agreement that everything! Everything was wonderful. The food was excellent, the service was top notch, the facility was clean!! The entire staff that interacted with us had a smile and willing attitude from the time we entered the door until we left. If you have not done so please give this place a try. I am a very harsh critic and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Good food, reasonable prices, great outdoor seating
Everything you get at 42 is delicious! We went for brunch. The caramelized bacon was incredible. The biscuit and gravy couldn’t be more flavorful (and, I’m a pretty good gravy critic). We ate inside as it was a very warm July day. We had a table on the window. I recommend making reservations so as not to be disappointed. The patio is fabulous, however. It’s our go-to for big gatherings with a river view. They even have a happy hour! Our only downside this day was the shortage of wait staff. It took a while to even get our coffee. One of the table hops came to our rescue for coffee and ordering. He stayed with us for everything we needed until the waitress made an appearance at the end. Usually, they have quick and great service, so I chalk this one up to a unique situation. Prices are great here. Don’t miss this gem!!
Great setting. Delicious food.
Food was great! Cool place to dine amongst the history
What a lovely place to stop for lunch on a road trip through Little Rock.
The sever Dwayne was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and fresh, and the view was beautiful. They have fans to keep a nice breeze going and the flies at bay.
Definitely will be our regular stop when traveling. Also could take a walk on the bridge or visit the museum/library if you go Wednesday through Sunday.
The restaurant is open 7 days/week.
Food was amazing; service from our waitress was poor, but we were helped by another server! Overall, would recommend!
Great place to go on a Sunday for brunch. Great food and drinks at a very good price. Excellent service, ask for Dewayne or Caleb. They’ll get you taken care of each time!
Great atmosphere. Beautiful outdoor set-up. Wonderful selection of wine and entrees. The support staff was great. Very nice friendly bartender for specialty drinks. The cornmeal fried shrimp is a definite try. On the other hand, our actual server was awful. He was loud, rude, with an aggressive demeanor. He lost one of our party members' credit cards. He had to be reminded several times about things we ask for after long waits. We didn't receive a few of the items we ordered. The poor performance of this staff member took away from our entire experience. I would love to try again, but I would personally ask for a different server.
Great experience. It felt like a casual/fine dining experience. We will be back. The servers were great. They were very attentive and had a great sense of humor. They had huge portions and we had enough to have a second dinner later that night :). We will be back.
Good menu options. There were 4 of us and we all decided this restaurant will be added to our frequent dining places list. The food was excellent as were our cocktails.
Always an outstanding brunch. Try the breakfast fries! There won't be any left, I promise!
I had brunch w/two of my amazing friends so we had good conversation & good food. It’s the best way to start off your Saturday morning.
All of our dishes were incredible. A few hiccups with a short handed staff but they were corrected with gracious attitudes. Overall a great experience and plan to go back.
Eddy at the bar made a mean Strawberry Fields forever. He was so nice and engaging. The waitress was very good as well. We had the cornmeal shrimp appetizer-great! French onion soup was excellent. Both of us had the chicken pot pie. It was fair. But, that didn’t mean our experience wasn’t good. It was and we’ll be back.
Great atmosphere, our server Dwayne was outstanding.
Service was not good. Food was excellent. Wish the library would have been open.
We really enjoyed a grown up night out. Our group of four had a variety of items and felt they were prepared well and generous in portion. The beverages were refreshing and prepared nicely. A few drink options were not available and a few menu items were already sold out. It was a busy evening at the restaurant and our waiter did a nice job of giving us personal service while managing other tables.
cobb salad was not good, way too much overly coated chk not enough greens
Was a little too cold inside.
Everything was great. I gave service a 4, not due to dissatisfaction, but to acknowledge that it was indeed very slow because the restaurant was extremely short staffed on the first day open for the Presidentail Library since closing for COVID. I had a reservation, got there a little early, and we were there about 3 hours. Over 1/2 hour was because one of my party was detained, the rest was due to understaffing, for which the wait staff apologized several times. We had a great time, enjoyed the good food and the ambiance. I will certainly be back, and hopefully the staff will be larger next time. It worked out well for us to be slow because we wanted to visit - that won’t happen every time, of course.
Lunch at 42, especially on a temperate day sitting outdoors on the patio, is a lovely experience. The site overlooks the Arkansas River and green lawns and is quite beautiful. The menu has choices to appeal to all diners and the food is well prepared, delicious, and nicely presented. There's a nice bar and indoor seating at panoramic picture windows in one of Little Rock's nicest dining spots.
Staffing for this restaurant is understandably short. However
, they do a great job serving. And meeting the wants of each customer with politeness and professionalism.
Frankly I was disappointed. I think 42's reputation has been overrated and "carried" by the fact it is located at a Presidential Library. Was noisy inside, service was poor, and food was average at best. It was my 1st time there and I really was looking forward to it. Pretty much of a let down. I won't return there.
Salmon salad was wonderful. Too bad the library is closed.
Excellent service and exquisite food, as usual! Keep returning after for years, even if we live out of state now.
First visit since pandemic. Was not disappointed. Food was delicious as always. Service was wonderful.
Service was wonderful. Our server was entertaining and fantastic. Will definitely eat there again soon.
The staff was very nice and apologetic as they were a little understaffed. The crab cakes during brunch was phenomenal.
Celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary there and it was exceptional. Service and food were hands down one of the best experiences in Little Rock!
The staff was wonderful and the food was excellent. Highly recommend.
Always great food. Always great service. Love sitting outside on the patio. Impressed with how happy everyone is who works there. They seem to love what they do.
Staff was so very helpful with assisting our party (we had changed our minds about sitting outside + we had extra person. Thanks and we loveeed the german chocolate pie.
The food was just “ok”. But everything else about the place was very nice. I’d go back.
We had such a great anniversary dinner! The food was amazing and not overpriced. The drinks were the best in Little Rock!
We've been here a few times before. We had the lunch special and dessert. The catfish was fine but nothing to write home about. The spinach spread on the turkey panini was cold and didn't go well for my wife. The service was good, but the dessert was only good, and not exceptional.
We enjoyed our lunch outside. The food and service was very good.
