34 is Chef Emeril Lagasse’s first restaurant dedicated to the cuisine of his Portuguese heritage. He was inspired by his late mother, Hilda, who influenced his interest in cooking when he was a child growing up in Fall River, MA. The 245-seat restaurant is adorned in shades of green – Emeril’s signature color – wood accents and ornate Portuguese tiles. A painting of a rooster, a national Portuguese symbol of good luck, greets guests at the entrance. Once inside, a jamon bar with countertop service and tile-clad DJ booth are focal points of the space. The restaurant celebrates not only the food and design of Portugal but also the sounds, with music from local and touring DJs.

An amazing evening with 34 x Acamaya. incredibly well developed menu and high attention to detail for this event. Service was fantastic and atmosphere is always stunning at 34 and the Utility Room. Thank you for such a memorable experience.

Christopher and his associate were both the tentative and helpful with recommendations and descriptions of the menu. The sommelier was lovely as well and gave us the perfect wine based on the notes and price range I was comfortable with. We started out with poa com tomate and cheese plate, batata bravas,tuna toro, and lettuce with anchovies (similar to Caesar salad). We ordered the paella and finished with the flan (best ever) and bolas de berlim ( holy cow🙌🏼) both were recommended by our server and did not disappoint. They also gave us complementary champagne and homemade ice cream. Amazing visit can’t wait to come back. Definitely coming back for our annual Christmas dinner. Bom trabalho! And I can’t forget Thaddeus, the lovely host who also doubled as our photographer. As well as Thomas, our secret bartender in the utility room.

We ordered the Restaurant Week prix fixe menu - there were several choices so we were able to try a bunch of things. The fresh lettuces with grated cheese and anchovies (lightly dressed) were spectacular, as was the sardines. The salt cod fritters were good, but could have used a little more time in the fryer. We also had a kind of bruschetta with jamon iberico and tomatoes - absolutely delicious. For our mains, we had both the piri-piri chicken (delicious!) and the fresh caught red snapper (the best thing of the evening). I don't know how they got the fish to be both flaky and creamy on the inside but it was perfectly cooked. Furthermore, it was dressed with a green, almost pesto-like herb dressing that elevated everything on the plate. The wine pairings were good, but not very adventuresome nor memorable. The service was great even though they're still working out the kinks - everyone knew the menu and we never felt rushed. My only complaint is that the DJ was playing 1970's disco...loudly...not my favorite. Overall, a delicious meal. We will definitely go back! Maybe not on "Disco Night", probably on "Caribbean and Brazilian Night"!

Everything from the service to the food was impeccable. I could go on and on but will say, the price point for the quality and service made it feel like a steal. The seafood paella was so unique and one of the most layered dishes I’ve ever eaten. Cannot wait to go back.

Beautiful space, professional service from everyone we encountered, excellent cocktails. The main fish dish I had was under-seasoned, which is surprising for a Portuguese restaurant. We were there during Restaurant Week and encouraged to all use the set menu to ensure consistency in service timing, which I understand. However, one of our second courses came out and the other three were not brought out for 10 more minutes. Hopefully that was just a Restaurant Week glitch. The speakeasy bar was fun and worth a stop.
