Best meal I've had in a long time. Service was impeccable.
All of the staff are very friendly, accommodating, food was great, but portions were a bit small (polenta for the osso bucco).
Great food, great people.
And it's been that way for what? 30 years??
We love this place and it just keeps getting better and better! Extremely fresh food, new recipes regularly show up on their menu, the cocktails are excellent and great value for the money, and the owners/staff are wonderful.
Loved the service and the food was great. Happy to have had a gluten free pasta choice. Cute little neighborhood place and wish the weather would have been warmer, so we could have chosen the outdoor seating. Thanks for a terrific dinner!
Portion size is just right. Specials and specialty cocktails are always delicious.
We randomly chose to go to 3 Doors Down, as this was our first time eating there. We were looking for an Italian place that was open to dining in.
We chose to sit outside, the owner greeted us, sat us down, turned on the heater for my date, and was very pleasurable to talk with. Wait Staff was very quick and efficient, knew the menu well, made recommendations, etc. Food was served relatively quickly, more quick than anticipated. Even with a mistake on the order, there was a very quick turnaround preparing a new plate. Oh...and hand crafted pasta!! If you know, you know!
After dinner, we chatted with the owner a bit, and we were very pleased overall. I highly recommend this establishment!
The dishes are creative, not your "run of the mill" fare. The marinated beets were succulent, the chicken liver pâté might have had more liver flavor to it but still was tasty on grilled toast. The complementary bean spread that came with the bread was terrific, enough to call for more bread to spoon up the last bit (but then they brought more spread with the second plate of bread!). Our main course, tajarin (the "j" pronounced like a German "j") with lamb ragu was superb. The texture of the pasta was perfect, and the ragu was very savoury with a touch of heat. Lovely. The weak part of the meal was dessert: the banana cream pie was not very banana-y or otherwise flavorful, and the Meyer lemon tart had an excellent filling but the crust was tough. Still, all in all, the meal as a whole was very satisfying and the staff was attentive and responsive. This place bears a repeat visit.
of course, it was quiet , on a rainy , early Sunday evening.
Despite the fact that restaurants are quiet, now- nice vibe, great food- spendy wines, so be careful of what you order. Food was delicious, though
Another fantastic evening at 3Doors Down. One of our favorite locations for a date night !!
I have been eating at 3 Doors Down since year one in 1994. It has been nothing but amazing every time. Thank you.
One of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I'm a vegetarian but my guests are not, and we all had excellent choice selections. The service, as usual, was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for vegaterians as well as non-vegetarians.
First time out to dinner since Feb 2020. A great experience.
We had such a great experience despite still dining during the pandemic. Our food and service we great. I hadn’t been there in years and am so glad that they’re still here. I’m definitely going back! This place is a gem!!!
We absolutely loved our experience at 3 Doors Down Cafe & Lounge. The owner and staff went out of their way to help us celebrate our friends' recent engagement. The quality of the food was amazing and portion sizes were generous. Our server was super friendly, helpful, and fast! The ambience/atmosphere was quite enjoyable and we felt more than safe with all of the restaurant's COVID precautions in place.
We will DEFINITELY be returning soon! I'm 99.9% sure that we will quickly become 'regulars' at 3 Doors Down Cafe & Lounge.
We have been going to this restaurant for 25 years and the big test was going back after the ownership change last year. It continues to have all the old favorite items, plus a few good additions to the menu. They have setup a great outdoor space. We will definitely continue going to this great restaurant for many more years.
We had a great time! The Osso Buco is so tender and delicious. The best dirty martini my husband has had in a while (perfect amount of olive juice. The service was great, and all the staff is very friendly and professional. They have warm outdoor seating and spaced indoor seating. We recommend!
We try to hit Three Doors every time we come to Portland. One of our favorite places anywhere in the country.
Food was amazing! Their vodka sauce was to die for. We also had the yogurt cheesecake with wine pairing which was also superb. The ambiance was lovely and the service was top notch. All covid precautions were taken and we felt very safe. Highly recommend!!!
Great as usual.
My boyfriend and I ate here recently and had a really good experience. The food, the ambience, and the service were all great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and go back there too.
Dined inside. Owner very gracious, welcoming, and sincere and maintained excellent COVID-19 mitigation. Staff familiar with menu, and long with 3 Doors Down, quite warm and friendly, which is hard standing 6 feet away, all wearing masks except active diners. House salad super delicious but overpriced ($13), pork tenderloin very good-tge big surprise was pizza-FANTASTIC! I will go again and get it again-very Italian crust-light, hot, ingredients it soggy and incredible!
In these early days, plain bread maybe free, wine pours a bit bigger, just an idea. You can’t go wrong, here!
the host was very kind and easy going. We had a wonderful meal, and would come back
Always a pleasure to dine at Three Doors Down! No concerns about COVID, the staff has safety protocols in place.
Mask policy of putting one on when any staff approaches the table is ridiculous. No-one is doing that and it annoying. Made a big deal about uv air system. Ridiculous. Won’t be back till you change that stupid policy
My husband and I love the heated patio at 3 Doors Down. It allows us to experience fine dining and good service from the friendly and very competent staff, at an airy outdoor table. We especially love the fresh pasta and the wine selection!
Delicious food, good drinks with an excellent bartender and servers.
You can't go wrong here.
Marvelous staff AND delicious dinner ❗
One of our favorite places... Always a hit!
Good Covid safety and delicious food qnd cocktails.
We sat outside a couple of nights ago and had a wonderful time with friends. Everyone at 3 Doors Down made sure we were warm and comfortable.
Our server (I am sorry but I can not recall her name) was so nice and so good. She really took such good care of us and made sure we had everything we wanted.
Our food was really great and everyone enjoyed their choices. We have dined here before and surely will do so again soon.
Well recommended! Enjoy the great hospitality and great food and excellent cocktails!
It was a great pleasure to return to one of very favorite Portland restaurants after indoor dining restrictions were lifted. The service and attention to safety were first rate. The food was even better.
FABULOUS ALL AROUND! Definitely will be going back soon! Food and drinks were fantastic, and the service was 10 stars!
Food and service was phenomenal, as always. Little bright and sparse, but I'm not going to complain in covid times :)
Great food and service! Great outdoor dining. Covered but open and warm.
This was my first inside dining experience since the pandemic hit. I have to say I was a little bit nervous but they were excellent. They would stand about 10 feet away giving us a chance to put our masks back on before they would approach the table. They had installed partitions in between the tables to make it even more safe and they weren't ugly. All in all, I recommend this restaurant. Especially now.
Excellent service, great food, with heated and ventilated outdoor dining - very comfortable.
Everything was ok but they make you put your mask on every time they approach the table even outside! I get the COVID thing but this is not a nice way to dine. I understand putting on a mask to go the restroom and to come and go from the restaurant but all through the meal is too much and very annoying and disruptive. The other restaurants that we dine with do not do this. We will not be going back.
3 Doors Down was awesome. Food and service was great. AND, they have an amazing set up for Covid. Lots of heaters and protection. It was fantastic.
We have always enjoyed 3 Doors Down and we have missed eating there. As usual, the food was great, as was the service. The Spanish coffee with dessert was especially nice.
It was warm with the heaters on & we hope to go back soon.
