Lovely setting and friendly, attentive staff. Really buzzing on Saturday evening. Food was creative and delicious. Maybe turn the heating up a bit!
Arrived to a very loud patronising and condescending host. We booked outside and was prepared to do so but possibly made a silly assumption that if outside seating was available to be booked then it would be suitable to eat and drink in. For example it would have heating and shelter. It didn’t. I was laughed at when asking if it had heaters etc and then told “you are the only people brave enough to face it out there and there is absolutely no room inside”. They said they would give us blankets then never gave us any.
Server gave us no drinks menus and then was annoyed when we weren’t ready to order drinks.
Was looked at like we were a burden and that we didn’t have the budget to afford to be there.
Overpriced menu and poor service. Left before ordering.
Style over substance - food was pretty disappointing (and lukewarm) and poor value for money. Wouldn't return.
The seafood platter was disappointing. The mussels and the clams were dry and not very fresh. Good service though
Great food and service, very accommodation servers, good cocktails and an overall great way to kick the Christmas season x
An excellent pre theatre lunch from the set menu. Sonia, our waitress, managed the timings brilliantly - always showing concern to ensure that we would be out on time for the theatre despite her having a really difficult situation with a low staffing level. the food was delicious and well presented. We will definitely go back for more.
Booked again with 28-50 because of my great previous experience and I am so great I've decided to do that. The quality of food was again on top level, service was attentive, but not disturbing, which you can rarely find. I had the Buratta as a starter and the lamb shoulder as my main, which could have not been tastier!! Had such a great evening and I'm looking forward to come back once I return to London!
Absolutely wonderful food, champagne and atmosphere! Thank you to our waiter Tom for the outstanding service! Can’t wait to book again!
Such a great experience!
From the moment I have entered the restaurant, I was greeted with such a warm welcome by the receptionist. Food is tasty with plenty of choice and with the menu constantly changing, service is impeccable and the atmosphere is delightful. Lights down low, fresh flowers on the table, a candle to spark up the evening and great music selection. Will definitely recommend!
Amazing food, good price for the location, good selection of wine by the glass, but what really stands up here is the service. They honestly make you feel like you are part of the family :) will be recommending this place to friends and family
Delivous starters, but very disappointing main courses - especially the Hake which was awful. But I was so hungry I ate it so I guess it can't have been that bad!
Hi there, I am sorry the hake wasn't to your taste - we will look to see if anything should be changed and will deal with this as necessary. I do hope the delivous starters were delicious though! Kind regards, Ginny
Disappointing menus selection very limited and average for cost
Dear Samantha, Your review is very disappointing for us. We intentionally keep our menu small, as a wine bar, the idea is that the food compliments the wine. Sorry this wasn't for you. We hope to see you back with us, but I understand if you won't be returning. Kind regards, Ginny
Great tasty food, excellent service. Overall lovely meal would 100% go again
The quality of the food was not up to standard. Steaks were not cooked as per our requests, in fact they were both overcooked. The restaurant mitigated this by only charging for one of them (they offered to replace, but we couldn't wait).
The ambience is nice and the waiting staff really efficient and friendly. We were offered drinks, as this was a birthday reservation, which was generous and a nice surprise.
Dear Maria, I am really happy to hear you loved the atmosphere and in particular the service received by the staff. We think they are fabulous too! Sorry to hear about the steaks - you dined on a Saturday night and I expect the kitchen must have been very busy. This is not an excuse, but an explanation and I am very happy the team only charged for one steak. We do hope to see you back soon Maria. Kind regards, Ginny
I can’t fault this place. It was our first time visiting and i will certainly visit again. We was greeting at the door by a lovely lady who was so friendly and enthusiastic. We had a lovely waiter who was very attentive. Our meal was fab and we wasn’t left waiting long considering it was very busy. The toilets were very clean and tidy. Thank you all we had a lovely evening.
A nice restaurant for British food, if a little pricey. Service was excellent
Left this place very impressed - the food, staff and atmosphere were great
We were delayed but they accommodated our lateness. We only had an hour before we had to travel and had the shared seafood platter which dramatically comes on a big stand. Good food and wine, expensive though.
Nice restaurant and good food. Could have more variety. The best of the evening was the waiter Tom. He was brilliant with his service, character and willingness to help. I would go there again
Hi Siva, Thank you for your review. Tom is fabulous, that, I think, staff and clients alike would all agree with! I have passed your comments on to him, thank you for sharing them. Kind regards, Ginny
From entering the restaurant we felt comfortable. Our table was immediately early even though we were early. Wine selection was exceptional and the sommelier very knowledgeable. Food was terrific and not overly expensive for central London. Great service. Highly recommend
Took my wife and some friends here last night for a very important celebration post cancer. Was hoping for something really special and it was just OK. Service was very friendly but inept. Had to ask for things 2-3 times, food order taken twice because it was forgotten. As a vegetarian, there was limited options (which I was aware of) but I went with the cauliflower dish which for the price was pretty insulting. It was a side dish at best. I thought it would be a delicious roasted cauliflower but it was just a boiled piece the size of a satsuma with a bit of sauce. I was hungry after the meal. A coffee would have been nice at the end but the machine was broken. How about some mint tea? No, we can't do hot drinks. To add insult, when I got the bill which was north £400, they had charged us for a side condiment of mustard. Really? I have never, even in the most high end restaurants down, been charged for mustard. When I asked why we had been charged for mustard and not the ketchup, the answer was that the mustard had to be brought from the kitchen and the ketchup was in the restaurant. So whilst we had a good time, that was down to the company and we may as well have been at a Garfunkels. Sorry. Won't be recommending to anyone.
Marching at the Cenotaph. Everything was great except for the excessive noise and I think there was a shortage of staff, but still very nice.
The restaurant was welcoming inside and the food was tasty but we only managed 1 course during our 2 hour visit as the service was very slow. We were told we had to finish by 7.30pm and there was only just time for coffee. We only paid the service charge because the waiter gave us coffee on the house due to the low service. it was a shame as we would have liked more courses.
Dear Karen, I'm really happy you liked the atmosphere and food at the restaurant. We were very busy on Saturday evening, and possibly should have limited more the number of reservations taken. We are really sorry you were only able to have one course. We would really like to welcome you back with us - please get in touch with me (Ginny) should you wish to book again and I'll make sure you are really looked after. Kind regards, Ginny
We'd booked a table and l even rang to double check we'd be indoors as due to health reasons neither of us can risk getting cold. Was assured we'd be indoors and they acknowledged it was part of a birthday celebration. Received a call mid afternoon to advise they they were very busy that evening and our table was only for hour and half. We'd no problem with this.
On arrival, we were allocated by the door. I explained we can't be cold etc. Assured we wouldn't be. We were, and countless customers queued with the door open.... At one stage l got up and shut the door myself, explaining and embarrassed. Staff were friendly but clearly rushed off their feet, service was very slow and a request for condiments was forgotten. Though the waitress did apologise when she realised but we'd finished by then.. We left after just a main course, as we needed to be elsewhere by 7.30..
I expressed my disappointment when paying and was told it was due to an error with open table over booking and it wouldn't happen the next time we dined with them.
Overall, a disappointment especially for a birthday celebration. Attractive restaurant but l doubt we'll return.
Hi there, I'm very sorry about your experience with us, you dined on a particularly busy evening and unfortunately we were short of staff due to sickness. This is not an excuse for the service, but an explanation. Please get in touch with me (Ginny) directly, we would like to make it up to you. Kind regards, Ginny
Great ambience in the restaurant. Attentive staff, the young lady at reception yesterday evening (13.11.21) was very welcoming on arrival. It’s the small things that make the difference ⭐️. The meals were delicious, compliments to the chef! Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable evening!
Food, service and atmosphere was amazing. Definitely going back!
Amazing place, great staff, food was exceptional. Soft drinks a little pricey, but that didn't stop us having a great birthday meal.
We had a mixture of all the small dishes in a tapas style as we had a short time. The dishes tasted great and came out fairly quickly. Service was lovely and prompt. Lovely atmosphere. Great location. We attended as a family of four and although there were no other kids in the restaurant, they were very accommodating of our two children.
far too many empty tables and all a bit tired. Cold made worse by marble top table. Just not very comfortable.
Hi there, I'm quite shocked by your comments. We had a full refurbishment 2 years ago and the majority of reviews say how lovely the atmosphere is and how comfortable the chairs are! Still, we are sorry you didn't like the atmosphere, we hope you enjoyed the other aspects of your dining experience with us. Kind regards, Ginny
Date night in London - Complimentary Prosecco :) Had the houmous & pitta bread and their cheeseburger. Both amazing. Strawberry Daiquiri is a must-have! Only downside was the noise level, we were looking for a restaurant that was on the quieter side. Service was great though and would definitely go back again!
The ambience was nice and service was prompt. But the quality of food needs improvement.
A lovely setting. We really liked the dining chairs and it’s really stylish inside. Sense they were struggling a bit with the staff so def sense of being over booked and took a while to get things (meal was really nicely paced but then we wanted some condiments and we had almost finished dinner by the time they came) The steak was ordered medium rare but came medium
Great atmosphere and lovely food to choose from
Lovely setting, brilliant food. Highly recommended.
Amazing service, went for a birthday and was greeted with glasses of Prosecco, very attentive staff with good knowledge of the menu.
Presentation was great, good food, my only criticism would be to make the seafood platter a little but more diverse and add in another seafood option.
Overall it was great and would definitely go back.
Had no preconceptions about 28-50 and we were very pleasantly surprised. Décor tasteful but interesting, with plenty to take the eye. The ambience was welcoming and "unstuffy"as were the front of house staff. Good table spacing, with very comfortable seating. Wines by the glass were reasonably priced and the main wine list by the bottle well thought out. Bottle prices started at around £60. We enjoyed perfectly cooked poussins, well presented on boards and a spectacular chocolate dessert, 2 medium glasses of wine and home-made sourdough bread to start, plus sparkling water. The bill was around £80 for the two of us. Spot on!
Overall enjoyed dinner, nice atmosphere.
Really welcoming and friendly staff. We had a great time with great food and drink. Thank you!
We had the croquettes and arancini to start which were very good then my friend has steak which was more rare than medium rare but she enjoyed it and I had half dozen tiger prawns - very garlicky but absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend.
