Every time we are in Carlsbad and have time, we always go to 264 Fresco. Food is delicious and the atmosphere is vibrant. It is also a great place for families.

Tried to call that we would be late but after 10 rings got a recording. My salmon was overcooked but others with us liked their food.

No one came to our table after we were seated for 20 minutes. We had to walk up to someone and ask to be seen. I ordered a drink and it didn’t come for 30 minutes so we closed out. Server said he was sorry. Also no draft beer at all - it was “broken.” You expect more at a restaurant that charges what they charge.

We got a table on the deck outside as requested but no view as we were situated 3 rows from the edge of the deck. The waiter was friendly & attentive but failed to let us know about the upcharge on the vodka choices. $20 for a single shot of Gray Goose instead of the standard choice doubled the cost of our drinks! Had we known our $15 drink would end up $35, we wouldn’t have made that decision. There was no indication on the menu of upcharges either. The focaccia, spaghetti carbonara, and spinach artichoke pizza were good. Our friend’s pizza came out about 10 minutes before our food . The short rib pappardelle had a strong vinegar flavor that overpowered the richness expected of the dish based on my past experience. The flavor profile was not described in the menu nor did the ingredients give any hint of this. I suspect the meat was either braised in a red wine vinegar reduction or the radishes that garnished this dish were overwhelmingly pickled. The saving grace was that the pasta was freshly made in house. The chicken parmigiana was a huge portion & tasty. Overall the experience was good except for the aforementioned items.

Restaurant is nicely decorated and in a prime spot near the ocean in Carlsbad. We ordered the rosemary focaccia and cinnamon rolls to start. Both were delicious so we had high hopes for our entrées. I ordered a salad and fries as my main and they arrived 10 minutes before the other three entrées were served. My guests had two of the pasta dishes and the steak and eggs. While they all said they were good, no one said they would come back and order them again. we asked for a steak knife for the steak and eggs, and it was never brought out. I had to ask four different people for salt and pepper. It was finally delivered after three people were done with their entrées. There were plenty of staff, but none of them seemed to want to help. disappointed and will not return.

Food, service, ambience, and noise level was all amazing. My family and I took our mother out for Mother’s Day weekend/brunch and got the bottomless mimosas, pastas, waffles, etc and it was great. Was not busy for a Saturday lunch at all and they didn’t make us feel rushed. The manager Gaylon I believe was his name, made my mother feel special by offering comp champagne and asking to take photos for us together. Thank you and we will be back!
