Food was superb. Our waitress was so nice, attentive, and even brought us champagne when she found out we were celebrating our anniversary... intimate setting allowed us to start up a great chat with the couple at the table next to us. Also, not gonna lie, really dug the aprons the wait staff were wearing.. they just looked cool.

My friend and I started with an Old Fashon. It was one of the best I have ever had. Ryan did a great job making it. We followed with shrimp toast--so delicious. For dinner we had a filet, carrots and scalloped potatoes. Two of the three were very good and the carrots were sweet. The filet was cooked to perfection. The only thing we didn't care for was the scalloped potatoes. We both agreed there was far too much garlic in them. The service was the best. It was by far the best service we have had in years. it exceeds anything I have had in this area. Great training! I know Ryan from another restaurant, and he has always been very attentive and friendly. The other servers were also outstanding. We will both be back. One negative sticks out and that is the stairs to the bar. They are quite steep and an accident waiting to happen. Please consider an elevator. Other than this, everything else was superb. Ordered the Barrette appetizer; waiter indicated he would bring bread; never did until we were almost through with apps. two of us ordered steak medium rare; both came out medium or medium/well done. One sent theirs back and when the next one came it was well done; the waiter never checked back in to be sure all was well. It was a slow quiet Sunday evening; would have expected a higher level of attention. The c cocktails and sides were all very good; the waiter was pleasant but no very attentive to our needs. The flounder/crab dish was delicious. Our round table for 6 guests was by the window in the main dining room- was great for conversation.

If you want a memorable experience with friends, family or business clients you will not be disappointed. I had the roasted Flounder with crab meat, and it was spectacular. My daughter (her birthday se celebrated) had the filet minion, and it had the best taste and texture with the horseradish sauce. My wife had the salmon, and it look great (she would not share it with me). cocktails and wine enhance our dining experience as well. Definitely will visit again.

Celebratory dinner for four and our first time at 1870 - we sat on at a high-top upstairs, and we had a wonderful meal! Emily was a consummate server/sommellier, delicious drinks, appetizers, main dishes, sides, wine and dessert. Not a miss one - and we tried it all! A little loud when the place got rockin’, but then it quieted down as the night wound down. Highly recommend both 1870 and MKC - both fantastic!
