Our name is a nod to the Gin Act of 1751, an ode to our vast assortment of over 100 different gins and our pride in being Houston’s premier gin bar. Enjoy one of our hand-crafted specialty cocktails or gin and tonics in our inviting lounge or with a few small plates at our large community table.
Loved the decor the cocktails and the food was excellent. Service was polite and knowledgeable about their menu. Noise level was high and reservation time was not met but still highly recommend this restaurant

Went for the first time for Valentine’s Day. Great first impression with hostesses! Amazed by the bar area feel! The dinner tables and chairs looked cheaper than the rest of the contemporary and upscale feel of the bar areas. For a few minutes, concerned that I had made a mistake and forgot all the positive reviews. Once the waitress Pierce arrived things improved. She was friendly and informative. Cocktails and service were very good! Dinner was very good as well. Fresh!!! Loved it!
They have a good thing going here, but please refresh and update the dinner table and chairs.
Great location! Love Monday’s Happy Hour with $1 oysters. My favorite is the lobster spring roll. Great drinks and service!
The food & service are outstsnding. I really loved the crab cakes that really weren’t crab cakes. I had the sable fish as an entree and it was great. Only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the citrus pavlova.
We were celebrating a friend's birthday and I informed the hostess when confirming reservations. The waiter did not acknowledge the celebration. He took our order for drinks and food. When the food arrived, we were not told what was on the charcuterie board. The waiter came by and told us when we asked. That was the last time we saw the waiter until he came by and asked if we wanted desert. He never came by and asked if we wanted another round of drinks or how was the food. We probably would have ordered 2 more rounds. I could just add it up to him being a bad waiter, but he was all over the table next to us. We did not order any desert and paid our bill. A few of us went to the bar and order drinks and desert. We had a lot better service there. I will give this place another try, because we saw other waiters and waitresses giving great service to their tables.
Attentive staff. Prompt and delicious food. Creative menu seems like a Thai Asian seafood fusion: Server was nice, could’ve added more adjectives when we asked what he liked. Everything was “very, very good” as he described... but it actually was.
It was my birthday and they acknowledged with a candle in our dessert that was complimentary. Extended happy hour on Mondays is awesome. Would definitely recommend!
I am annoyed when your table is not ready for your reservation time. Otherwise a nice evening with good food and service.
We have eaten at previous restaurants in this space, and the incompetent valet parking remains an issue. I wish the restaurant could make a deal with the rest of the shopping center to allow self parking in the large lot. That said, this was a very fun restaurant for our party of 7. The charcuterie board was fantastic, and we would order it again. The hotpot was a fabulous shared dish. I thoroughly enjoyed my simply seared snapper, and there were other menu items I'd like to try on a return trip.
The overall experience was awesome, our waiter is the best and the food and drinks never disappoint.
Seafood tower was awesome. Cocktails were tasty. Dessert was delish. Service was great.
1751 has made my wife a fan of gin and we have never been disappointment with the cocktails. I had the scallops (cooked perfectly) from the simply fish menu with a wedge salad and my wife ordered the tuna carpaccio, but the umami oysters and blue crab hoe cakes were the stars of the evening meal.
This was a real foodie treat. There were 6 people in our party and everyone had a fabulous meal. Not only great seafood but the wagyu beef and pork belly appetizers were great as well. A little pricey but worth it.

My party and I had a wonderful dinner celebrating a birthday. The service was phenomenal. We waited for a free extra minutes before getting seated despite having reservations, but it was very quick. They were nice to give us some starters on the house!
The food was outstanding! We had the Texas wood grilled oysters and they were to die for. The crispy red snapper was equally as great. Highly recommend!
Never going back there again. Extremely rude personnel , especially the main hostess. We had to ask for the manager to solve the issue because she wouldn’t listen and even walked away as we were talking to her.
We were also charged for drinks we didn’t order. We were a party of 6 on a Saturday night. Maybe, they thought, we wouldn’t see the error!!! Beware.
Every small plate that we had was excellent! We made an 8pm reservation and did not have to wait at all when we walked in. Our waiter was very nice and enjoyed suggesting certain items on the menu.
We arrived 45 minutes early to take advantage of good happy hour specials and were seated immediately. Food was delicious and service was attentive. Would highly recommended the restaurant itself. Valets blocked off adjacent parking spaces. Had to park in strip center across the street.

One of Houston's hidden gems
The ambiance was warm and very inviting. I was a bit frustrated once I learned that there was not a TV at the bar but that was quickly forgotten after being seated at the Ice Bar and greeted by the server. After learning a bit about our palate, he recommended a couple of smooth gin drinks. We ordered the Texas Wood Grilled Oysters, Lobster Spring Rolls, and the Blistered Shishito Peppers. We were then surprised with a few additional dishes on the house (Apple Ginger Hamachi, Blue Crab Hoe Cakes, and Poke). The second round of gin recommendations were as good as the first! All aspects of the experience were top notch and we would recommend to anyone who desires a variety of innovative seafood preparations and a knack for creative cocktails.
We made reservations for dinner after the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Of course we received excellent service. The food is great there.
A bit noisy but the service was great and the food was very good.
We finished holiday shopping early and arrived for our reservation nearly an hour early. We were prepared to stand and enjoy the amazing gin drinks until our table was ready but were able to sit at the seafood bar right away. The seafood bar is where it’s at! We got to sample a couple things we didn’t even order. The fish quality is superb and the flavor even better. This was not our first time to 1751, but each time keeps getting better & better. Must try the lobster rolls, crudo, and rabbit w/mushroom ravioli + white truffle 😋

A few thoughts. This is a very loud restaurant, so don’t think that you are going to have an intimate conversation. Not going to happen. Service was exceptional. The man behind the raw bar area was fantastic. He gave us a few samples and sold! We purchased another item from the menu. He epwas better than any sales person at CostCo! The waitress was great, though she could have used a course in alcoholic beverages. That was not her strong suit.
Seafood is expensive, so that said this is not going to be a cheap meal. Superb selections! My favorites by far are the yellowfin in the toro sauce and the cucumbers. Both are fantastic!
We dined on a Monday, which is traditionally a slow night for restaurants, so it was fairly empty. My husband ordered one of each of the oysters as Monday they are half off. He very much enjoyed the oysters. We ordered the calamari, which was fantastic. We also ordered the blue crab hoe cakes, they were simply ok. One nice thing is there was a lot of crab. Otherwise they were not very memorable. Lastly, we ordered the redfish on the half shell. It was ok, but it had a lot of cajun spice on it, I could have done with about half the amount that was on it. The collard greens were not very memorable. My husband ordered the Pirate's Buckle gin & tonic drink which we both liked very much. Overall, I would say I'm glad I tried the restaurant, but I don't know that I'll be rushing back or recommending it to anyone in the future. My photos are too large format to include.

The clam chowder and pork belly was r really good. But the other dishes we ordered were not good. The octopus was over cooked and the flavor was off.
The location is great. The service amazing. The food is beautiful but lacking a layer of flavor. The drinks were great too. The just needs a little more flavor. I’d go back though with the hope the restaurant keeps evolving.
Very tasty, highly recommend the Uni Pasta. However, service was awful, dinner took around 2 hours, just to get all of the dishes out. Highly overpriced for the amount of food served - we were still hungry after splitting 2 desserts, 4 small plates and 1 entree between two people.

Had dinner at 1751 to introduce my girlfriend to my parents; Certainly an anxious situation. Could not have been happier with the restaurant. Service at 1751 was outstanding, courteous and cordial. Beginning with Amy the Hostess through the end of dinner. Food was delicious and drew praise from our entire party. Noise level was a bit high but the ambiance was energetic; perfect for our evening! Highly recommend 1751 for an excellent dinner.
Our food was so tasty. It was great to have the option of a simply grilled piece of fish. The crab souffle and scallop appetizers did not disappoint and the chocolate dessert was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Our waiter, and Ziggy the bartender, took excellent care of us.
We will be a regular customer.
