The location is great. The service amazing. The food is beautiful but lacking a layer of flavor. The drinks were great too. The just needs a little more flavor. I’d go back though with the hope the restaurant keeps evolving.
Very tasty, highly recommend the Uni Pasta. However, service was awful, dinner took around 2 hours, just to get all of the dishes out. Highly overpriced for the amount of food served - we were still hungry after splitting 2 desserts, 4 small plates and 1 entree between two people.
Excellent; love this restaurant!!!
Had dinner at 1751 to introduce my girlfriend to my parents; Certainly an anxious situation. Could not have been happier with the restaurant. Service at 1751 was outstanding, courteous and cordial. Beginning with Amy the Hostess through the end of dinner. Food was delicious and drew praise from our entire party. Noise level was a bit high but the ambiance was energetic; perfect for our evening! Highly recommend 1751 for an excellent dinner.
Our food was so tasty. It was great to have the option of a simply grilled piece of fish. The crab souffle and scallop appetizers did not disappoint and the chocolate dessert was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Our waiter, and Ziggy the bartender, took excellent care of us.
We will be a regular customer.
Outstanding food and service, and the pricing is a little high but that’s expected with this type of place. Overall, wonderful experience.
The place was well decorated to feel comfortable and not too upscale. The bar is well stocked. They weren't joking when they say this is a gin bar, amazing cocktails! The food was great! They didn't have the fish I wanted but this is understandable as they strive to have fresh seafood. I will be returning for sure.
Food was excellent but service seemed slow for an early Sunday evening and restaurant not full . We waited 20 minutes for 4 desserts to come out . Other than that we had a good experience and will go back
Everything on the menu was delicious! The drinks were great and the service was fast. Will be back!
Can’t wait to come back. Everything was great!
The food is worth the price. We had fresh oysters on the half shell and the calamari for an appetizer, loved it so much we order it again. We probably shouldn't have because the entrees were a descent amount so I split a meal with my honey. If you like gin, or want to give gin a try, order the Gin Act. Fabulous. Do reserve a table, as this place is very popular.
Food was good but nothing I’d have to come back for. Best part was the lobster spring rolls. Service was good. The bar was backed up, so took a while to get drinks. Was very, very loud. Some parties like that, but was hard to carry on a conversation.
I went for happy hour and introduced the restaurant to several girls from the neighborhood who were meeting me there. The staff was great and worked with me to secure a table large enough for the group and, as always, service was amazing.
Good food and great service. Would go back for other special occasions.
Food was fantastic. Service was fairly responsive. Every course was worth the price.
Great food, terrific service, and well done cocktails.
Overall, an okay experience. Glad we went but probably will not return. Our server was not knowledgeable about either the wine list nor the food, which was disappointing. Our raw seafood dishes were phenomenal. Our cooked dishes left some things to be desired. The redfish was overcooked and dry but the scallops were perfectly seared. The uni pasta was under seasoned and the uni did not taste as fresh as I hoped it would.
The piece of fish that my husband and I had was very fresh and tasty. The vegetables with my salmon were
way to salty. We also ordered Brussel Sprouts and Mixed Vegetables and they were so salty that it was hard to eat them.
Another thing that bothered us, was he brought us bread that was terrible. It was burned.
He charged us 4.00. We didn't say anything, but it was not good business.
Not sure we would go back!
We had high expectations for this restaurant after hearing great things about it from few different sources. The food was mediocre and the service was not professional. We won’t be going back.
We had one of the BEST meals we have had in a long time. From beginning to end we had a fantastic experience. We had the seafood tower, tomato salad, halibut, redfish on the half shell and THREE desserts. We were waited on several staff and the manager came around several times to check in. The gin cocktails were all amazing and we cannot wait to come back!!
The service provided by Pam & Adrian was fantastic. I wish the wine list from site was updated from what was offered at the restaurant that day that was the only issue I had. The food was flavorful and provided an environment that made it easy to have a conversation even with many people enjoying their company at the same time
My husband and I absolutely LOVED it! The food was amazing! The atmosphere was formal without being stuffy, and the service was excellent! I HIGHLY recommend!!
Sarah D made our meal extra special. She had great suggestions for drinks and meal. Calamari lightly fried and delicious, crab cake soufflé rich with light curry flavors, Brussel sprouts and collard greens excellent with seared snapper. Fish tasted very fresh. Dessert- strawberry shortbread and cookies and cream - both outstanding.
Had a lovely anniversary dinner here. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was AMAZING. I'm a sucker for a seafood tower and theirs is excellent. And the poke might be the best I've ever had. Will be back ASAP.
It was ok. I can’t say our experience was any better than Starfish, which is not saying much since it closed. Red fish was over seasoned and gumbo was too salty. Service was decent, but it took a lot to get out waiter’s attention.
A new favorite spot! -- And we aren't the only ones to feel like that. The restaurant was packed! We shared small plates this time. Loved the Conserva and the oysters and the crab salad and the clams. The only disappointment was the crispy calamari. It wasn't crispy and was very dense. We plan to go back soon to try some of the entrees.
We celebrated my birthday there and everything was wonderful from cocktails, to the food. Our server was extraordinary, she new about the cocktails, wine,
food and even made great suggestions after finding out about the things we preferred. Her suggestions were perfect. Awes evening ❤️
Had 9:15 reservations for dinner on a Saturday night. Seated right away but it took a while for our waiter to get to us and take our drink order. For a bar that has over 120 kinds of gin, the cocktail menu was not as large as I expected. We asked our waiter for recommendations on our entrees and he recommended the Redfish and Snapper. We ordered both along with several small plates for appetizers. The waiter came back about 5 minutes later and told us that they were out of the the Redfish and Snapper. How can you be out of 2 of the 4 fish entrees on your menu at 9:30 on a Saturday night? The waiter tried to make up for it by giving us a free dessert, but we certainly would not have eaten dinner here had we known that 50% of the fish entrees would be gone by the time of our reservation. The restaurant was nice and the service was okay given the fact that it seemed like they were short-handed. I'll probably give them one more try because the food we did have was pretty good.
It was our first time here and we really enjoyed it! We were celebrating my birthday and from start to finish the staff did everything they could to make me feel special. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and of excellent quality. Furthermore, we felt that the dishes were really unique to the restaurant, and this makes it stand out from other seafood restaurants we’ve been to in Houston. The restaurant can get a little noisy, but they placed us in a booth on the side wall and this was perfect planning on their part, I really appreciated their attention to detail. Another bonus is that it’s close to home. Thank you to the whole staff for an excellent evening and we will definitely be coming back!
We had so much fun! The crowd was great, the food even better and we sat there for over 2 hours with no-one looking at us to leave!
All of the seafood dishes were excellent and reasonably priced. Good happy hour as well.
I thought the main dishes were a bit pricey. Why does fish have to cost $32
Wish they offered crab cakes
The greens were salty
The fried calamari was really good and worth it
great service, great atmosphere, delicious food! yum!
The food was fantastic! We will definitely be going back!
Amazing food and service!
Everything was well executed. The service was great. The cocktails were great. They have the heaviest brass cocktail menu I have ever picked up. The food was great.
Delicious seafood and such a lovely fusion!
Fantastic and inventive seafood with an extremely reasonably priced wine list. Highly recommended.
The food was just great. Our waiter was excellent at describing the dishes and how they would be presented . We recommended it to all our friends who appreciate this level of fresh ingredients and
look for a menu with this type of variety of seafood.
Had the Oysters, Amberjack and Red Snapper. Great food, very tasty and definitely will be back again.
