Love this place ... pizza was amazing ... crust perhaps the best part ...been back every time we’re in Austin ... always hood
I was in town in a Business trip, and I was craving Italian food. I jumped on OpenTable and found Quattro Gatti. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the fettuccine Bolognese and it was out of this world! The service was fast, my cocktail was excellent and our waitress was friendly.I will return.
Went here for the first time the other night before a show at the Paramount. Food was terrific. Wait staff was very accommodating. I arrived earlier than the rest of my party and they still sat me at my table (I hate it when restaurants won't seat you if your party is not complete). The specials all looked good and we ordered one of the appetizers and it was delicious. The three other people I was with got pastas and loved them. I got a Calzone. It was perfect and I ate the entire thing! The restaurant has a very European ambiance. Highly recommend!
We had a great experience at Quattro Gatti Ristorante e Pizzeria. We went there for a date night prior to going to a comedy show at the Paramount. It was the perfect location for this. We had an excellent server. She brought out several wines for my husband to try before making his decision. She made wonderful recommendations on the food also. Based on her recommendation, I tried the Funghi pizza which is not something I would have normally chose. I was pleasantly surprised - it was delicious! My husband had the Pollo Scerpariello and loved it too. We will definitely go here for another date night or for a night out with friends!
On the plus side the food was very good. We each tried a different pizzas and all were made very well. Desserts were tierramisu and lemon sorbet. The sorbet was served in an actual lemon.
The service was very poor. I had to go to the bar for wine glasses and to Gerry a pitcher to refill our water. When the pizzas arrived I had to clear plates to make room. We had three different waitresses and I am not sure why. The place had a steady flow of business bit there was no wait for a table.
I asked for an iced tea and it never arrived.
We made reservations for five without issue.
Even our guest from Australia commented on the poor service and lack of attention.
We will not be going back.
Service was exceptional. Our server was kind, quick and super friendly! Food was served hot! I had Their tortellini and my friends had the mussels and a steak dish. Everyone enjoyed their meal! Served promptly and hot!
The food here is authentic Italian and very good. If you are in a hurry, I wouldn't recommend this place as the service is slow. This is a great place to meet before heading over to the Paramount as long as you allow plenty of time. It is a small restaurant, so I would recommend reservations.
Fabulous experience. PizZas were so yummy! Add some wine and calamari and it was overall a great experience!
My favorite place in Austin. Great food with great service. Highly recommend.
Awesome food, place, wine, dessert and bread.
I hosted a dinner for 8 here tonight and I couldn’t have asked for anything more! The server provided excellent recommendations from drinks to dessert and everyone loved their meals! My only suggestion for improvement is that our table was right by the kitchen (and the place was pretty empty otherwise) and the kitchen staff started mopping the floor about halfway into our meal. I could smell the cleaning agent- not very appetizing. We left around 9, so I understand needing to clean up, but if you plan on doing it while customers are still there, perhaps seat them further away from the kitchen?? Other than that small detail, everyone had a great time and we would. One back!
We feel this restaurant is as close to a true Italian restaurant as you will find in Austin. Sometimes things get a little off i.e. the waitress misunderstood what we'd ordered and brought a different dish but it was corrected immediately AND she said "I am so sorry, it was my fault". Rarely do you get that type of attitude in Austin! Often, restaurants in Austin have waitstaff who are not very kind or mannerly. Let alone apologize and take the blame if something in the meal doesn't work out. The portions are ample, the menu fairly simple as is the wine, but it also good. Like most Italian and French restaurants in Europe there is no music pumping/blaring. It really is about the food and ambience here.
Not sure why other reviews were so poor... This place is great! It was my second visit to QG, and not my last. The food is wonderful and the portions are big enough for a big appetite. If I had to have something negative to say, it would be that the antipasti plate could be better. Eat here... You won’t be disappointed.
As always great Italian food in a comfortable setting. Terrific fresh food, great preparation. Our favorite Italian restaurant in Austin, a real neighborhood gem. Recommend highly!
My boyfriend and I enjoyed every moment of our meal. We took our time drinking and eating, and our server was on point. She was quick and helpful, while being sensitive to the fact that it was a long-awaited date night for us. The food was heavenly.
The place is nicely put together but the service and the food are not great. They only have 2 options for wine by glass, they don’t have a cocktail menu but the waiter did ask us if we would like one, making a statement how she can mix anything. The main dishes were brought at the same time as the appetizer so they got cold by the time we start eating them. The pasta and the pizza were served made with extra ingredients that were not specified on the menu. ...and they were good, nut nothing delicious or memorable. Too bad...because the restaurant is pretty cute ☺️
Awesome restaurant with great food! Good portion size and excellent flavors.
Service could’ve been better.
Quatrro Gatti continues to be our go to Paramount Theater Option. The food is consistently good and the proximity to the Paramount is amazing. The quality and authentic nature of the food is a great combination. They are also flexible on ingredient changes too. My only suggestion is to offer some better wines by the glass. The choices are pretty limited.
We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend for its great food and ambiance. Would definitely go there again!
Gianni and team have created an exceptionally good Italian restaurant at the quiet end of Congress Avenue. It feels like a transplant from New York's Little Italy, but without the attitude. Excellent wine list with some good values, and the affogato is best in town.
As for bona-fides, this is the Italian restaurant of choice for Ferrari's F1 team when they are in town. You'll notice a yellow 'cavallino rampante' flag in the window if you look.
I love the old world ambiance and beautiful bar.... the food is beautifully prepared, and I love the gluten-free pasta option.
You have to try this authentic Italian restaurant. Not just another pizza place; truly real.
On a trip to Austin, we decided to find something other than Tex-Mex near our hotel. Four blocks from our Hyatt House Hotel, we found Quattro Gatti. We were seated quickly and not long after we arrived, the restaurant filled up. Service was top notch, selections were typically southern Italian with a Sicilian-heavy but affordable wine list. Food was terrific; everyone enjoyed their meal, from Salmon (me) to fettuccini Bolognese (our son). Came away happy. Happy to recommend this place.
We enjoyed ourselves. We went on Valentines Day and felt a little rushed by the staff but overall they were friendly and attentive. Good was good, felt very home cooked and wasn't overly trendy or creative, but that's not always a bad thing. Ambiance was fairly loud at 5:30pm so I would a imagine it can get pretty loud later into the evening.
Consistently great authentic Italian cuisine, great service, excellent wine selection, great prices for downtown Austin. Highly recommend!
Me and my boyfriend came here for a date and were not disappointed. We both love Italian food so it was perfect ! Although it is a tab bit pricey it is worth it!
Wonderful restaurant, someplace I feel I will return to often.
An Italian restaurant that is actually Italian. Lasagna, Penne Pasta Bolognese and a Chicken Parmigiana at the table. All three perfect. Calamari and fresh bread were also great. The sauce they had was best I’ve had in a long time. All this while they were getting slammed with walk-in traffic and the service and quality was still excellent. A great Lemon Cello to top it. Best restaurant surprise in a long time. Nice job.
Wife and I were in town for the day found this gem close to the car dealer we use for service. It was a complete surprise. Great food wonderful staff. Cant wait to visit again.
Our excellent server was the high point of our visit for me. My pizza...white with arugula and prosciutto...didn’t have much flavor. My husband liked his ...with artichoke hearts, also a white one....a lot. We may try again, though there are a lot of terrific places in Austin.
The manager was brusk and rude. All else was wonderful.
I will never return to this restaurant. When we arrived no one acknowledged our presence for a while. When the hostess came over, we gave her our name for the reservation and we were ten minutes early. Despite the fact that there was an available table, she wouldn't seat us for ten minutes. In the meantime my boyfriend went to the bar for a glass of wine while we were waiting and no one acknowledged him there, either. After we were seated, no server came to our table. We finally flagged down the owner/manager. He brought us wine and then ended up taking our dinner order because no server came over in the meantime. The wait staff was friendly, but no one seemed to have tables they were responsible for and there was an air of disorganization. On the plus side, the food was tasty, and the pizzas we had used high quality ingredients. Unfortunately, the quality of the food didn't make up for the overall unsatisfactory experience.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Several vegan options.
A nice restaurant. Very small
Food and service was great. But the ambience needs to be improved. The tables were too big and conversations were difficult across the table . Would love to go back once a change in furniture is done.
We made reservations and was sat right away but right next to the door. It was 30 degrees outside and every time the door opened we were drafted with the cold air. The antipasto appetizer was small and had two small pieces of cheese and two thin slices of prosciutto. The rest of the plate was three large grilled vegetables. The burrata was excellent. The gnocchi was very good but the sauce was salty. The pizza was not good at all. Had way too much sauce and too little cheese. The waiter was not as attentive as we would have expected and getting the bill and paying took a whole 20 minutes to deal with. The whole experience was underwhelming. Unfortunate with going off the reviews on here. We would have chosen a different place.
Great food. Service was slow but I blame the fact it’s NYE. Cappuccinos were cold tho.
Love this restaurant, food is very good and I love the ambiance!
Great food and perfect for a large group of co-workers
