the service was super slow and it was a little pricey, other than that it was great, food was delicious and had fun with my wife.
I forgot what the burger was called but it was phenomenal. Not a fan of the rosemary fries. And I feel like their menu could be a tad bit bigger but overall I loved it there.
We ended up leaving special that I listed was not done and not a great selection for food or drinks
Lot's of wide open space. A super friendly and helpful staff. Drinks, (both alcoholic and non), were a value and tastefully prepared. We just had an order of the Chorizo fries, which wer different and tasty, more than enough for four people, let alone two. Overall, this is a fun venue and can be recommended.
They were closed. Would’ve been nice to receive a notice or call before showing up.
Waitress was very nice and sat me even though I was 20 min late for reservation! That was nice of her but definitely not expected.
It was a wonderful day experience. My brother loved celebrating his birthday here.
Was very busy due to a concert but the waiter (raymond) was awesome, things took a while but it was understandable given the circumstances. Food was delicious and it's a very unique spot.
Great atmosphere. Great food and service. A lot of fun. We will definitely make another trip here in the future.
Horrible service. One waitress that stood at the bar waiting for 1 drink to be made for over 10 minutes. Way over priced.
The service was the worse I have ever experienced, no energy, forgot our order, nothing on the menu was available I got a matcha lemonade, it was only lemonade...we will never come back here
Service was terrible manager was great and took care of us but waitress was terrible from point we where done eating and ask for check till when we finally received check was 45 minutes.
Great service provided by Alylilah
Great atmosphere and it would be a good place to get some drinks and hang. The food quality was poor and expensive, had the tacos and the meat was overcooked with stiff tortillas. The Mac and cheese had no favor. Probably won’t go there again for food, but would to grab some drinks and possibly the appetizers.
Food and service and atmosphere were very nice for this return trip, but I will never use the 'OpenTable service again. They sent a overly critical note to me telling me why a low life like me should never make a reservation that I had no intent on keeping. Trust me when I say the last thing I need is schooling on social etiquette from the 'mixed up' generation.
I was at my reservation appointment at the prescribed time, but, again, still received the condescending email saying I hadn't attended the restaurant and skipped out on my reservation. I complained in an email to Open Table the next day, and they blamed the mix up the restaurant (Punch Bowl Social). Typical.
I will never use OpenTable for a reservation (or anything else they provide), and I have put forth every effort to tell my friends and associates to stay away as well from this service.
Unfortunately, this leaves my experience at Punch Bowl Social tainted and the restaurant is relegated to a third or fourth selection when embarking on my next dining experience in the Detroit downtown area.
Service was slow-but he was a gem!
Drinks were expensive, small, watered down!
Took too long to get a second drink (a beer), was finished eating before it came.
Desser Order was wrong- sent back twice!
Latte was ice cold- sent back.
Bill was adjusted but not sure we’ll give them a second chance 🙁
Food was hit or miss - some dishes good, some not so good (absolutely recommend the green chorizo fries). Shuffleboard table was not level, almost unplayable. That said, the vibe was good and the drinks amazing. Thanks for having a nitro tap!
We wanted to eat and bowl. The food was okay but we were excited about the atmosphere and experience. We asked about bowling when we arrived and were told it was reserved. Online it says you cannot reserve bowling. We waited until the time they said we could bowl but we were told we still had to wait. At that time we decided to leave. Also, while waiting we did not have a staff member wait on us, we had to go up to the bar. This was a very disappointing experience.
The service and atmosphere was amazing! My boyfriend and I had a great time and will recommend this spot to our friends. I think we’ve found our new favorite spot!
The food was good but the service was terrible. The restaurant was incredibly slow.. it was a Sunday afternoon and there were maybe 10-12 tables full. After being seated, our waitress took almost 10 minutes to come to the table and take our drink order. After waiting almost another 10 minutes for our drinks to be brought to the table, we ordered our and got that quickly, but never saw our waitress again and had to ask for someone to get us more drinks. We wanted to order another round of drinks, but instead, the waitress just brought our checks without asking or ever clearing plates from our table. When we left, there were probably 6 tables full of dirty dishes (with no patrons sitting at them) and 5 staff members standing around at the front door chatting, but they couldnt bother to greet us. The food is worth it, as long as you dont mind terrible service.
Food was poor, chicken sandwich was very dry, fries were very hard and hollow, hamburger meat was good but the bun was very soggy. The humus was good , we found a sugar cube size piece of wood? Or something very hard in our Queso. Our fall punch bowl was really good. Service was very slow but at least very friendly. Wouldn’t return , too many other restaurants to pick from.
Unfortunately they we so understaffed before the Detroit Lions Game. Our waiter was a complete rockstar with what he was working with.
First, we couldn't get the prime rib sandwich because you guys ran out. My burger was made incorrectly and had to be remade. Then the bowling alley we got didn't keep score but we still had to pay full price. Then, the machines to get cards to play the games were not working so we were unable to play any games. I was frustrated that we couldn't pay to play, yet they would not let us play shuffleboard for free because of the inconvenience. Pretty crappy for my 40th birthday party. I will not be recommending you guys to anyone.
I loved it!!
Great place and service was amazing. Food and drinks were awesome.
A variety of food for all tases and dietary issues cool fun atmosphere and great service close to the Detroit Opera House within walking distance
Took my daughter and her friend here for her 14th birthday at 4 PM before the Luke Bryan concert. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a waitress to start our order. My daughter was bowling and waitress said she would get her order. She didn’t take her order with mine and twice when I asked she said she was too busy to do it.
It was great. Only disappointment was all of our fries were freezing cold
I had high hopes for this place; lots of friends have recommended it in the past however everyone in our party was extremely let down. On a Friday night the restaurant was out of ingredients for several of their cocktails and the soda was flat. Food was nothing exciting. The restrooms were dirty with peeling wallpaper. Not what we were expecting at all. On a more positive note, all of our servers and bartenders were friendly and upbeat.
Great space with an awesome drink menu, but the service was due to only one server in our section
We were there for Sunday lunch. My wife had chicken/waffles and I had the chicken sandwich. VERY large portions. Very tasty. Rosemary fries are addictive. Beware!
Atmosphere is very laid back. Kewl to watch youngsters bowl. Huge pool table. Need to get a set of snooker balls.
Good place to hang out or chill out
So made a reservation on open table for 10/11 Friday night. Apparently there was a private event which we didn’t know about so our reservation was cancelled. We did not find out until we showed up at 9pm for our reservation.
they ran out of food which in a large city is unacceptable and the replacement meal was extremely subpar. fantastic waiter though.
We have been many times for drinks but this was our first time making reservations for dining. Service was polite and we were seated reasonably lose to reservation time. However we were told when considering our order that the restaurant was OUT of fries all together (this was 6:00 on a Sunday game day but all the more reason to be prepared)
About 5 minutes after we ordered, our waitress returned to inform us that the kitchen would not accept any more tickets for another 20 min. Knowing we would likely be waiting at least an hour for food at best, we were forced to leave without eating as we had tickets at the Fox later on.
Extremely disappointed with the management of the kitchen and our overall experience
Servers were very nice, but the food took forever. Then when we got one meal the chili, it was refrigerator cold. My mom ordered a shrimp burger and after waiting an hour we were told they were out if it.
I would recommend Punch owl Social to a friend but tell them to eat before you go. The food is not good, the desserts look good but are not tasty and the drinks are not strong. The only thing good is the location and a venue that offers fun and games. Don't waste your money on food, eat somewhere else then go to play games.
The wait staff was rude and not very helpful. The waitress brought our food then never came back.
We started our day on the detroit peddle bar. When we got done our plans were to have dinner and enjoy the rest of our evening. The staff didnt like that our group had been drinking which is odd since the peddle bar is literally right outside the restaurant. They threatened to kick us out several times stating someone in our party was being rude to the staff but could not tell me who.
They didnt know how to handle a large group and are not welcome to the people coming off the peddle bar.
Food was cold, tasteless!!!! Barely any meat in the 3 tacos entree. Not worth wasting your time here for dinner, so many better options in the city.
