Located on London's iconic Dean Street in Soho, Prix Fixe Brasserie is a restaurant loved by locals for its affordable French brasserie cuisine. This is the kind of restaurant people come to for low-key lunch meetings, first dates and to wine and dine in comfort before hitting the Soho bar scene or one of the many local West End theatres. Cosy and intimate, the dining room is decorated with blackboard menus, ruby red feature walls, wooden floors and vintage French posters, and both the prix-fixe and a la carte French menus are peppered with favourites such as the confit of duck with French dauphinois potatoes, steak entrecôte with home made French fries and garlic maitre’d butter, classic Boeuf Bourguighon with creamy mashed potatoes, Brasserie Salads and many more. The prices at Prix Fixe Brasserie are almost ridiculously reasonable for Soho, and the quality of the food and service surpasses expectations time and again.

The food was good. Nothing more. The soup was a solid 5/5. The mains (I had duck, which wasnt amazing, the potatoes came in the sauce which for me is a no-no and a distinct lack of green on the plate) were average. The staff were perfectly pleasant, if a little inattentive. Noone came back to check all was well, though I was quite late to my table and they didn't chastise me like in some restaurants. For the amount of food, it was pricey but decent. Would I go back? Not in a hurry but I'd not say 'never'. Overall a solid 3.5/5. Thankyou.

I was extremely disappointed in the presentation, execution and overall service. A horribly noisy atmosphere with waves of second hand smoke entering a wide open door to the street. The food literally made mill ill in the street before I got back to my hotel. Beef borgonoin was the source of my woe and my wife's trout smelled horribly. I wouldn't feed this food to a prisoner of war. Maybe the European mindset is to be indifferent, smoke 5 packs of cigarettes a day and serve food that is unclean. Just horrible.

Prix Fixe reminded me of the French brasseries I used to go to in Paris in the old days. We had steak frites - the steak was perfectly cooked and tasty, the frites were thin and yummy, and the cocktails excellent. We sat outside on a table that was perfect for people watching. The whole atmosphere was down to earth but upbeat. The service was excellent - attentive and kind. I will definitely be back.

We had the pre theatre dinner menu of two courses and it was great value and everything we are was really tasty. The garlic prawn and mussels starter had juicy prawns and a garlicky sauce. The cheese croquettes were delicious, the cranberries cut through the richness of the cheese. For mains we had the open spinach and mushroom pie, pan fried sea trout, and duck. All were delicious, we'll definitely be coming back. Service was great, they were very attentive.

The food was tasty and the staff were nice. some of the starters were excellent but the timing of the dishes was mixed. The cooking of the meats for the mains didn't reflect the requests, some overdone when rare was asked for and some underdone when medium well was asked. Timings seemed a little rushed though the food was a 6/10 for taste. We had a special request for an aperitif on arrival to celebrate an anniversary that unfortunately didn't happen. some prices on the menu didn't alone with what had been sold - more specifically the dessert wine. I would go back but mainly for their set dinner menu as this feels more aligned price-wise with the value you're getting.
