Roy's San Diego Waterfront
Roy’s is located downtown, immediately adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center, Marriott Marquis and Manchester Grand Hyatt, and within walking distance of nearly all of Downtown San Diego’s major hotels and attractions. Situated on the boardwalk, Roy’s looks out over the Marriott Boat Marina and San Diego Bay. Known around the world for Chef Roy Yamaguchi’s signature Pacific Rim Cuisine, Roy’s combines the freshest local ingredients with European sauces and bold Asian spices for a unique culinary experience. Misoyaki Butterfish, Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi and Hawaii Kai Style Short Ribs are just a few of Chef Roy’s signature dishes available for group and individual dining. Private dining is available in the marina-view Big Island Room, on the marina-side Lanai Patio and for restaurant buy-outs. Semi-private seating is available for groups of 12-40 at our Upper Lanai Fire Pit, and inside in our two-story atrium Wine Bar.

Open to the stars and San Diego’s beautiful weather, Roy’s Lanai Patio is an amazing space for cocktail receptions. The Lanai Patio will accommodate 130 guests for a seated dinner, and up to 250 for a standing reception. The Lanai Patio sits on the boardwalk, immediately adjacent to the boat marina. The upper tier of the Lanai contains a large circular fire pit and the main bar. There are umbrellas, if needed, and heaters. The north side is lined with large tiki torches and lush landscaping.

Roy’s intimate Fire Pit area is located on the upper portion of the Lanai Patio. The space includes five tables, each seating between 5 and 6 guests each, surrounding a large circular fire pit. This space can also be modified to accommodate a standing cocktail reception for a small group. The Fire Pit area is bordered by large tiki torches and lush landscaping on two sides, Roy’s outdoor patio bar on a third side, and a wall that separates this area from other diners on the Lower Lanai patio.

Roy’s Big Island Room is situated on the second floor of the restaurant and is bordered by panoramic windows that look out over the boat marina and onto San Diego Bay. It is a large, completely private room – seating 100-150 comfortably – but groups as few as 18-20 have been accommodated just to meet privacy requirements. The room has two tiers separated by a decorative railing, allowing for the best sight-line to the extraordinary view. There is also a small adjacent patio.
