Primo Tuscan Grille Ratings and Reviews
Food was good; made a reservation and had a nice table by the window. I am not one to notice service one way or another if the food is good, but our server was so bad that it ruined our experience. The server did not seem to be understaffed as he was just paying more attention to his "regular " customers in the table next to ours. Our reservation was for 7:15pm and the menus were still sitting on the table at 7:45 and he had not taken our order. He told us the specials within 2 min of our arrival, but did not take a drink order and we did not see him again for another 15 min. We ordered drinks eventually and then he did not take our food order until 7:45. We did not get away until 8:45 and the server never asked us if we wanted a 2nd drink during our 90 min dining experience. We spent most of the 90 min looking at our empty glasses and waiting for our food. He actually avoided eye contact whenever we tried to get his attention; He just spent all his timing attending to the table next to us.
We've been going to Primos for years, and the drinks, food, and service are always perfectly consistent. One of the few places I've found that makes a perfect martini. We usually ask for Vincent or Ceasar, but I'm sure everyone is top notch. The paintings on the wall add to the quiet, intimate ambiance and make dining even more special. The only downside is for the mobile-challenged; you have to walk a long flight of steep steps to enter. Parking might be a little challenging but not really an issue.
We were looking for a new place to.try and how can you go wrong with Italian. Primo Tuscan Grille was quiet and the staff were very friendly. I enjoyed the Penne Primo Pasta and it was excellent. Not so sure about the frozen Carpacio, but nonetheless, everything was awesome. We'll definitely be back again.
I have an annual dinner with my cousins in Charlotte. This place was awesome. The decor was beautiful. The waitress was very attentive to our needs. The only down side was that my cousin ordered sweet tea. It was not sweet.
We were a group of four. I ordered the duck breast. Everything was cooked perfectly. The soup of the day was lobster bisque it was the prefect marriage of sherry and cream.
My daughter and I went to Primo before attending a symphony performance . Our server was the best! Great personality!! We were seated at a lovely table in a cozy nook with a big window. The food and wine were delicious. My duck breast was cooked just right! Will definitely dine there again!
Was underwhelmed by the food for the price. Service was sub par. I understand valentine's day is busy for all restaurants, but the overall experience was not good. Beyond the service, food took about an hour to come out after ordering, and no vegetarian options were available and no accommodations were offered. Would not return.
We were out for Valentine's Day and we very rarely go out my wife and I, when we got there we definitely like the environment in the restaurant it was perfect for the ocassion our server Brian was very helpful and overall we had a terrific experience, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
We go to primos all the time, my uncle goes there once a week and is personal friends with the owner. We got there on Saturday and was seated, wasn't given menus, and wasn't greeted by a waiter for 20 minutes.... so we left. The waitress and manager tried to chase us down the stairs asking us to come back inside saying they would give us 1/2 off our meal, but being ignored for 20 minutes is just ridiculous. Needless to say, we went to Flemings downtown and had a great meal with amazing service!
I didn't like how the restaurant conducted their business when we visited. One reason, we didn't have bread available when sitted. We had to ask for bread. Then we had a huge hair on our butter. I don't know how it was missed but it was clearly a hair from someone heads which made us question the sanitation of the restaurant. We would have left then but our food was already served.
Food was excellent but the service was terrible. We had to hunt him down every time we needed something and when we reordered our drinks they took forever to come. Wouldn't return to this restaurant because of the service even though the food was excellent. Too many offerings in Charlotte to waste my time going back here.
My husband is a personal chef so we like to eat out very often! We also hate to spend money on food that we could prepare better at home. At Primo Tuscan Grille this was not the case! The food was the best that we've had in Charlotte in quite some time. It was far better than some of the more popular restaurants in the area. Can't wait to return!!!
We usually love this restaurant. they were extremely under-staffed. One person acted as a hostess, bartender and waitress for the entire restaurant. we had 7:00 reservations and sat ourselves at 7:40. We did not even have menus and had to flag someone down to help us after 15 min. We still did not have our first course at 8:50. The staff was very overwhelmed but not very unapologetic. It took 30 minutes for them to even bring us a bottle of wine we ordered. We asked for extra bread twice and never received it. The did not offer to discount any food or beverages. I am only writing a bad review so that management knows how disappointed we were at our experience. We spent a lot of money and we treated poorly because there was no staff to help the experience. We would have been better off leaving without ordering.
The Food and the Ambiance was 5 Star, but the Service was 1 Star at best. There seemed to be only one waiter for the entire restaurant which is really sad because this place has so much potential to be a really Top Charlotte Restaurant. I am not sure if I would go back because of the service. If I did, I would call first to see how many waiters they have working before I made my reservation or the drive there.
The appetizers were good but the rest of the dinner was tasteless. We finished our salads and waited a very long time til our dinner arrived. I overheard the conversation from a group of people at another table complaining about the food also. I had high hopes as I love Italian food.
