Primo Ratings and Reviews
With such a beautiful balcony, the curtains should have been opened to enhance the ambiance. I know “baby chicken” is a culinary dish, but in today’s atmosphere, it is an inappropriate term; my wife was shocked when the term was used. The taste of the food was OK, nothing special. I ordered the seafood ravioli and got 3 raviolis, 2 prawns with a drizzle of sauce. Hardly worth $38. The staff was very attentive and nice. The waitress was polite and informative, but didn’t make a strong effort to make it a memorable experience. We don’t mind spending money on exceptional food and a special experience, but this was neither.
Chef Dylan was outstanding. Wow Chef. Thank you for amazing dinner. My wife and I have been to Primo on many occasions but this night was above average. We started with the garden veggie pizza and Chef Dylan dropped off some meatballs with creamy polenta. WOW! we shard the garden salad next then took a short break before getting started on the main course. A waygu ribeye Graded as A5. I have had some pretty Great waygu but this was a top 2 ever Great waygu.
Kept waiting for our table despite having booked. Every other table had the server explain the menu to the guests however we do not get this. When the food arrived it was dried out and I returned it to the kitchen and had to select another item from the menu. This left my wife eating her entre while I waited on my meal to come from the kitchen. Not exactly the special meal we had planned.
Primo did not live up to either our expectations or their own website hype
Sorry Primo but won’t be back unless you can do a lot better
Found Primo in Rockland, Maine and were fortunate enough to get a reservation! It was so good that when we found out we were going to Orlando and knowing that they had a Primo there, I booked right away with no regard for location. When trip was near I looked up the location and found out it was in the J.W. Marriott and we were staying in a Marriott Villa Next door that offered us a shuttle. I had the veal with mushrooms over Garlic Mashed Potatoes and fish main dish in the photo. We had drinks and cannot leave out the wonderful Bread Basket Brought to the table soon after being seated. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. I would highly recommend to anyone that they go out of their way to eat at one of the 5 or 6 Primo locations around the country. This is the only Restaurant I know of that we would go out of our way for!
Great food and service.............waitress(Joy) gave us space for us to conduct our business conversation, but never left us alone for too long. Love the atmosphere, décor and total overall restaurant...........would(and have) highly recommend!! Thanks for a great evening!!
The food at Primo is very fresh (you can look out the window and see the garden where many of your ingredients come from). The space is nicely designed and the menu choices are varied. We really like that they have pasta orders that are smaller portions so you can share several of them among the table. Primo is a good dining option at the JW Hotel or even to make a trip from other areas in Orlando.
Absolutley love this restaurant. We are repeat customers at the JW Marriott and always make sure we hit Primo at least twice while we are there. Great wine list. Food is so fresh and delicious. The sweet potato risotto is outstanding!! Wait staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable about the dishes. A must try when in the Orlando area.
Took over and hour to get our entrees. Nobody came by to give us an update. Steak was closer to raw then medium rare. I see all of the awards on the wall from years back. I am uncertain what has occurred since 2014 but clearly this is no longer an award winning establishment.
Over priced. You know you are in trouble when you go to an italian restaurant and there are only four pasta dishes. Two soups served cold and returned. A arrabbiata spaghetti dish returned and a weird white bean and tomato sauce side returned because it was all tomato sauce and ... just weird. Four adults, three small children a $140 bottle of wine and a $500 bill with the automatic 20% gratuity added for a party of six or more. Go to Norman’s at the Ritz or anywhere else.
We enjoyed a fantastic recent meal here. The antipasti was excellent with a great assortment of cured meats, aged cheeses, rosemary almonds, honeycomb, pickles and olives. House special of pork (saltimbocca style ) was divine. Lush sweet potato risotto, knock your socks off beef tenderloin and housemade pastas. Service was attentive but not hovering. Excellent wine list. We declined dessert but were brought a plate of macarons and other sweets to share. Will stay here again to enjoy this fine restaurant.
Primo was a fantastic choice and we rarely eat at, let alone recommend, a hotel restaurant. It's a very popular place, so even with a reservation you may have to wait. The wait is worth it! The meatball app is divine. The BEST meatballs we have ever had! I had a pasta dish off the menu and my husband had a pork special. Great meals. We highly recommend!
We have dined at the original a number of times and were curious to see if the Orlando version could meet that very high standard. While the menu was a bit more limited than you would find up in Rockland, the quality of the food and the service were just as great as we experienced in Maine. Great evening!
