Prime is more of a local place rather than a destination. We recently moved back to SE CT and decided to try to explore places that we had not been during our previous time here. When we moved, Prime was not open and we saw a couple of reviews in the local press. Figured to check it out. The menu is a nice balance of items. Everything from burgers to chix to steak, at reasonable prices. The ambiance is that of a local's place; the bar area is larger than the dining area, and there is no wall separating the two. The bar was fairly empty, but loud enough to be distracting at several points. It was populated with folks that looked like they were stopping in on the way home or from local businesses. The other patrons in the dining area looked to be largely from the hotel on the same property and included a couple of families, so it seems to be "family friendly" despite the adjacent bar area. The first person we encountered seemed confused that we'd made a reservation on OT; the second person (our server) seemed to accept it and moved to seat us. Menus were presented but we had to ask for a drink menu. Our waiter would disappear for long stretches, but overall the service was reasonable, if not speedy. We did get tired of waiting at the end for him to provide change on our check, so we rooted around for cash close enough to the total+tip and then left. The food was acceptable in quality and reasonably priced. The serving sizes were on the smaller side, but adequate. Presentation was nothing special, but there was some thought put into it. Would return if we are in that general area (it's about 20 miles from our usual area) but would not drive just for the "experience".

We went for my mother's birthday and we were very disappointed. She ordered a prime cut of beef and it was over cooked and they had run out, so a different cut had to be ordered. The manager brought it out but offered no apologies and didn't even stay to make sure it was correct. This is not a restaurant that we will turn to.

I have never given a negative review before but his one warrants it. The drinks were great with good service from the bartender. When the waiter arrived we had to request the blaring show tunes music be lowered since a speaker was right over our table. I ordered the clams casino. I got 5 silver dollar size stuffed clams that were cold. The steak was covered with a sauce that tasted like bottled gravy. I was offered a choice including risotto as a side dish. After about 15 minutes the waiter said the chef indicated the risotto was not finished and I would have to wait another 25 minutes for it which I did not care to do and got a baked potato instead. The steak, potato and broccoli were barely warm. A very disappointing meal.

We eat here very often and are always pleased. The drinks are great and we have never had a bad meal. Caesar salad excellent, chicken dishes are very good as well. Filet mignon was as good as any steakhouse Prices are also reasonable Definitely a find and never disappointed

My husband and I had lunch in the bar last Saturday. We were greeted by the bartender right away and he provided prompt service. We both ordered bacon cheeseburgers with fries and they were outstanding! The fries could be cooked a bit more, but they were still good. The burger was the biggest I have ever seen, cooked perfectly and tasted awesome. Enjoyed the drinks too. If we ever return to Norwich, we will visit the Prime 82 again.

We were very surprised by the food considering it was a restaurant attached to a local hotel. We really enjoyed our meal and drinks. Will definately go again.

Loved our server, pleasant, accomodating - rushed our order since we were concerned about being late for a concert at Mohegan Sun. Chose to dine here because we could not secure any reservation for restaurants at Mohegan prior to the concert. Appetizers were good - especially the barbecue chicken spring rolls, but my chicken dish was too salty too eat - glad I had the bread and appetizers. Cocktail was good too but super expensive - $12.00!
