Stepping inside Prima Pasta in Houston is like stepping foot in Italy. Aside from the windows that provide street views of the surrounding neighborhood, large murals featuring views of waterways and Italian shops transport diners to another time and place. Prima Pasta offers up Italian fare in a warm, inviting and family-friendly environment that is filled with a relaxing and somewhat intimate ambiance.
The main menu contains several Italian classics such as calamari fritti, pasta primavera, shrimp scampi and red snapper. There is also a vegetarian menu with tossed green salad, eggplant parmesan panini, vegetable lasagna and fettuccine alfredo. Prima Pasta also offers catering and family-sized portions to accommodate large groups and special events.
Very friendly staff, excellent food, all made to our special requests.
I thought this was a true Italian restaurant but I was way off. The place is not authentic Italian food so if you are looking for that I would suggest you find another place. Overall the food was okay. The place wasn't real clean.
I would not go back.
Very good Italian that is freshly prepared for a reasonable price. We will return!
Really enjoyed this cozy local dining restaurant. Owner greeted us and spent time with at our table. Meal was nice and well presented. We'll try to return while we're in town.
Nice quiet little Italian restaurant. Large helpings so bring an appetite. Not your conventional preparation but more traditional. Had the spaghetti in meat sauce with meat balls which was delicious and hearty. Lots of large portions of fresh vegetables mixed in with the sauce which I have never had prepared that way before except for in Little Italy in NY. Highly recommend.
The food, service, location, and staff were nothing short of excellent! We were celebrating the cancer free report for our 23 year old beautiful, special, special, young lady that has been fighting this dread disease for more than three years. God is so good!
The choice to meet at Prima Pasta made the evening a night to remember. Thank you for allowing us to make the evening a moment to always remember!
Congratulations to owner because he is always there taking care of the business, and to the staff for being very helpfull, excelent service...and very friendly
We met another couple for a night out and chose Prima Pasta for our dinner location. This place has a great ambient feel inside IF you aren't sat by the kitchen doors. It was busy, so we got over that... But what we couldn't over look was the subpar service from our waitress. She was NOT attentive, we constantly had to flag her down to remove empty food plates, and to refill glasses in front of us. So irritating and frankly she really killed what would have been a overall enjoyable dinner. Food was decent and I would have like to go back... But great service is everything!!
Location isn't great, but food was excellent. I had the beef lasagna - large portion and delicious.
We went on New Year's Day with my daughter and her family for dinner. The food was really delicious and the portions were very generous. We're big eaters and we had take-home boxes. There was a very good traditional Italian menu along with Americanized favorites. Prices are great and service was attentive. It's close to the zoo.
We have been going to Prima Pasta for years and absolutely love this place. The food is amazing, the staff are so good at making you feel like you're family, and the ambiance is very quaint.
overall a very nice experience and many of us will return
The food is great and Stephanie is the best!
We drive from the Beltway & I-10 to eat at Prima Pasta. Definitely worth the drive and ask for Stephanie, you'll get
the best service ever!
The ambience and cuisine were extremely impressive. My date and I had a wonderful time!
Came here for Valentine's Day. Server was very good. I had the Pasta Primo and a lasagna. I enjoyed the pasta. The red sauce was not my favorite, as I tend to like it more acidic, and this was more sweet. I think that is just a personal preference. The desserts were delicious though. We had the tres leches ( I know, its weird for an Italian restaurant) and the tiramissou. Both were great. There was a musician playing and I received a rose when we left. Overall, pretty tasty, affordable, and great service.
She was a great waitress, always attentive and very friendly.
The atmosphere at this place is awesome. Everyone was really friendly and nice, but the food was just average at best. This is a really neat place, but the food just didn't do it for me.
Not fancy, old time, old school, casual with funky guitarist. Lovely, friendly service and very reasonable prices. Yummmmm.....
Pasta is part of their name however, pasta is not what they do best. My husband asked for linguine with pesto and the cook had never heard of pesto. They asked us if we could tell him how to make it. We could but they did not have the ingredients to do it. The antipasto was a joke. No Italian has ever had an antipasto like they serve, basically a salad with canned sliced black olives and no cheese of any kind. One of the most disappointing places we have eaten.
