Preserved Restaurant, owned and operated by James Beard Award nominee Chef Brian Whittington, serves authentic, locally-sourced, ingredient-driven southern cuisine, giving homage to the history of Lincolnville.
This was an anniversary dinner for my wife and I. We were seated outside in a covered area just outside the main building with good ventilation so we weren't hot (which is important with July in Florida). The food was excellent - I had a beef carpaccio appetizer which was a little different than typical as the beef was in small pieces as opposed to slices but very tasty. I had the boulibasse for my entree which was very good as well. My wife had a soup of the day (gaspacho with watermelon and mint) and a fish special. Hers were excellent as well. Since it was out anniversary, they provided a complimentary creme brulee which was excellent. Our server was outstanding.
The serve was fantastic
Best brunch I’ve had in a long time!
Best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had
As always, the food was incredible. Our server was so sweet and knew the menu options very well. Everytime we go to St Augustine we always eat at The Preserved. The food is undescribably delicious, the restaurant is clean and beautiful and the staff is always very friendly and allows you the time to sit and enjoy your meal. We are so excited to come back for dinner in October for our anniversary.
Fantastic brunch experience. The seating outside was comfortable, the service was attentive, and the food and presentation were both impeccable. We can’t wait to return for another lovely brunch experience soon.
amazing, fresh, locally sourced food. great service, knowledgable staff, beautiful setting
Excellent service, charming simple space. Watermelon salad appetizer was among the best things we've eaten; bouillabaisse and the crusted tile fish were both very good; strawberry short cake with mascarpone was only good.
Loved it, gorgeous old home, nice ambiance and a delicious meal.
Great restaurant. Very Classy and extremely professional during these hard times. We felt very safe.
My entire party enjoyed our experience at Preserved. Definitely recommend this restaurant and look for going back next time we are in St Augustine.
Absolutely delicious! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner. We were greeted with a glass of bubbly and devoured a wonderful meal of charcuterie, gazpacho, steak, and seafood. Everything was fresh, tasty, and elevated. The wine list is excellent and our server was appropriately attentive without being invasive. We will definitely be back!
Service was outstanding and the steak was cooked perfectly.
The Preserved exceeded my expectations! We sat outside and enjoyed a light breeze amongst the lime trees. Our server was professional, attentive, personable, and funny! Food was absolutely divine. The watermelon salad was light and refreshing. The Creme brulee was better than my mom makes!! We're taking her to the Preserved to treat her to a beautiful dining experience!
My first time at the restaurant, first date with the lady, and The Preserved made it one to remember. James, our server, was excellent. James was attentive without being intrusive and genuinely friendly. Our dinners were delicious and the portions were generous.
19 Anniversary dinner was awesome. Small, old home ambiance!
Always incredible, food, service everything is spot on every time
Very disappointed in the eggs Benedict. The English muffin was very hard to cut. Was not told by wait person we could have on biscuit. That would have been much better. I advised the wait person after the brunch. I treated two people that had not been to Preserved. I am local and have been there many times. Was embarrassed. One of guest ordered same.
The staff were helpful and attentive. My meal (Eggs Benedict) was nothing to write home about, honestly. It was bland, small portion, not enough Hollandaise sauce and a tiny amount of what I assumed to be bacon crumbles on top. I had always wanted to try Preserved, and thought brunch would be a good way to sample a meal, but I feel no need to go back and try again.
Had a lovely brunch visit! Will definitely be back for more!
Service was great! Ribeye was over cooked and extremely fatty. For the price I would have expected them to trim a little. I understand ribeye is a fatty cut but it seemed excessive. Everything was bland limited seasoning. Seems they have a great atmosphere and that is why the menu prices are high food. It worth it but ambience and service was great.
Would recommend 10/10. Food was phenomenal. Service was fantastic. Intimate and romantic. We will be back!
Great food and great service. The shrimp and grits were absolutely amazing
A lovely evening for our anniversary. They asked if we’d like a brûlée for dessert or champagne to help us celebrate as their treat. Our meal was delicious and the waitress “just right” in attentiveness.
Our meal was fantastic, we started with the gazpacho soup for appetizer that was wonderful. I had the scallop special and my boyfriend had the prime New York strip. Both were cooked to perfection and tasted superb.
Superb food & great service
First class experience in St. Augustine. Wonderful food and service and very reasonable compared to my home town of Fort Lauderdale.
We have eaten at Preserved 3 times over the last year. It has become our St. Augustine favorite restaurant. It is an hour and 20 minute drive from our home, but is wort the drive for special occassions. The food is exquisite, the ambiance is very nice and the service is excellent. You will not be disappointed.
One of our favorites, its usual 5 * rating! And we felt safe and relaxed because of the safely precautions: porch seating, 50% occupancy, socially distanced tables and servers wearing masks. Thank you for allowing this high risk couple to safely enjoy an outstanding anniversary celebration!
This charming restaurant was delicious and a perfect introduction to St. Augustine. The staff bent over backwards to make our visit special.
They must have been having an off night. Nothing was seasoned well except for the mussels. The chef’s fish special was an odd combination of ingredients, including raw pickled peanuts.
Food was very good.
We were a party of 4 for Sunday Brunch on Father's Day. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we requested outside seating. We were given a table to the left of the main entrance on the covered porch. Even though it was a very hot day, we were quite comfortable, as there are ceiling fans overhead. We had the entire space to ourselves. The Shrubmosa is my favorite brunch drink - a mixture of simple syrup, .fruit extract and sparkling wine - very refreshing! The soup of the day was Corn Bisque. Our entrees were: Eggs Benedict; Shrimp and Grits ; and, PEI Mussels. For dessert, we chose Strawberry Shortcake and Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse. The food was extraordinary, as always; the service, impeccable. (Kudos to Dianne, our charming, professional and knowledgeable server.). My husband and I eat here on special occasions, especially when we have visitors from out of town. We have never been disappointed. This is a venue in the Lincolnville section of St. Augustine, with garden and covered porch seating outside and inside seating in the beautifully restored house. An added plus is on-site parking. All in all, Preserved is a wonderful place to spend a leisurely hour or two for Sunday brunch.
We have been here 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Twice for dinner and once for brunch. Food atmosphere service was amazing. And the are very covid cautious! Amazing place. Would highly recommend.
We totally enjoyed our brunch...a pleasant surprise amid all the activity of downtown St Augustine
Great for a special occasion. Food was high quality.
The food and service were great but it's a little pricey for every day dining it's more of a special occasion place
Food was amazing. Service was wonderful.
Can I give more than 5 stars? Up until now, we have said our best meal together as a couple was at the Olde Pink House in Savannah. After eating here, this has taken its place. The braised beef short rib melted in your mouth and was so flavorful that I didn’t want it to end. The duck was cooked perfectly and the sauce it was paired with was phenomenal! Our service was excellent and we never had to wait. I can’t say enough about how great this was. The small house and homey feel just took it over the top!
Celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at this restaurant . Excellent food and service . Definitely recommended for special occasion .
