Fabulous food. Fabulous service. Great wine. Love the brunch scones!
Food was delicious, as always! Service was superb. We truly enjoyed our dining experience.
First time here Saturday night and it is now our favorite restaurant within 50 miles.
Service was superb
Ambiance was perfect
Food was out of this world
We came to celebrate my wife’s birthday with our daughters. It was wonderful in every way. Very thankful for the excellent meal and great service.
We loved this restaurant! The staff were attentive and the food was delicious!
Server was fantastic! (Red head) Great brunch!
It was “date night” for us. Really good food and service. Added to our date night rotation.
We chose this restaurant because someone recommended it. We made reservations and asked for indoor seating and when we got there they sat us outside. No more inside tables. Food was great. Service was good. But it was super dark and warm outside
After hearing such great reviews from acquaintances; I decide to book a special Anniversary dinner. Booked almost 4 months in-advance to ensure access. We arrive 6:55pm for 7pm reservation. Three young ladies outside at Hostess desk, explain that “our” table had prior diners (that we later find out were walk-ins w/o reservation) - we could wait a few minutes in their waiting area (where a smoker was burning & our clothing would’ve smelled - we politely declined) ... after 15 minutes the Mgr brings us glasses of water ... it’s about 85 degrees ... after another 15 minutes - a couple leaves and the Mgr encourages us to enter and be seated. I should also say they repeatedly offered us porch or patio seating - did I mention it was hot?! Hahaha!
We walk in to the beautiful room with a deafening noise level - we also walk by an empty table set-up for two (not “ours”, apparently!) ... Ten 65+ year old diners are gathered at one large table in the middle of the restaurant - they are drinking; they are loud; they are rude (language foul); they sing Happy Birthday to two separate tables of strangers trying to celebrate their event.
The server was practically yelling the specials and explaining the menu — she apologized many times throughout the meal to us and another couple trying to dine.
Spouse’s roasted oysters & my salad were great. Spouse’s duck was awful - was sent back to the kitchen and server indicated that Chef was unhappy the dish left with the amount of fat present - meat literally could not be chewed. His replacement meal was scallops - he enjoyed it! Mgr delivered new meal - apologizing; while my Short Rib was fork tender and very good.
Our celebration recognition from Restaurant was sparkling wine or creme brûlée - we chose dessert and it too was lovely.
The ambiance was 100% damaged by the other diners and made the experience totally unbearable. Our nice celebratory dinner - we couldn’t hear each other across our small table ....
Excellent food & service
This restaurant was spectacular.. The staff welcoming, fun, and so knowledgeable. Our waitress was fantastic and walked us through the specials and brought over a few wines to taste before we made our selection.. Food was amazing. I am a foodie, I represent chefs for TV and know my way around fine dining.. I would say top five dining experiences. Beautiful space. Simple but elegant. Such attention to detail. Food was delicious.. We Started with the steak tartare.. best I've ever had. I had the shrimp & grits. The dish was so nuanced, layers of flavors and just when I thought I'd nailed it there was another level. My family had the pork chops, steak and bouillabaisse.. All great. Mom found the pork chops a little salty and wished they'd come with sweet potatoes instead of the few overdone potatoes on the plate.. Everything else was great. Ordered the banana bread pudding, family loved it. Great experience I would drive down the four hours to go again. Worth it.
Phenomenal meal with a great atmostphere. Service was incredible and would definitely be a must for anyone looking for a great meal in St. Augustine!
This restaurant was recommended by our receptionist at our courtyard Marriott hotel in St. Augustine. We're most grateful for it was definitely excellent and unique.
It’s always a wonderful experience! Delicious food and just a great ambiance.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant in Historic Lincolnville. Very particular menu selections prepared superbly with a southern flare.
Our waitress, Amanda was very nice and accommodating. Outside porch seating was good and private. A must see.
Preserved is always a delightful dining experience. Excellent food and outstanding service in a remarkable setting. This visit was Sunday brunch and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together at the restaurant. Much work and consideration has been invested in customer service and waiter training for each member of the team. You are greeted with warmth and sincerity and two gentle important inquiries: (1) is this Visit a Celebration of an important day or event?and (2) Are there any food allergies the chef and kitchen staff needs to be aware of while preparing your food?
Peach scones, shrimp and grits, fresh soup, quiche, and fried chicken = wonderful.
Very old house in Historic St Augustine. Menu creative. Wait staff very good. Mimosa's very good. Parking on site. Unheard of in St Augustine.
We had brunch here, on our way out of town, concluding a visit to St Augustine for my birthday celebration. We will be back! Everything was top notch.
Second time doning here and both visits were excellant . Will be back! Highly recommend the Preserved!
We usually don’t like to assume what our experience will be like based on reviews but def glad we finally came to see what Preserved was all about. First impression was great- the set is up is very warm and inviting with simple clean line and decor. Our server was Nicole, who was phenomenal! We appreciated her knowlegde of the offerings and just overall pleasant manner. The food was amazing! The scallops were perfect and melted in your mouth like butter. We also enjoyed the snapper that went well with the etoufee. Looking forward to another date nite here.
This was my second experience at Preserved and just as fabulous yet again! The escargot was superb and outside was a great choice for dining
Music a bit loud and didn't jive with the atmosphere. Food was awesome, waiter, Grant, was great, but server needed a bit more training. Overall great experience. Highly recommend.
Creative and delicious entrees.
Preserved brunch was nice. The service and ambiance were great. They had nice music playing and the décor is cute. The food was delicious for the most part. The scones and mimosas were amazing! However, the gravy was on the greasy side and was not our favorite.
Mu husband and I went for our anniversary. Brunch was amazing!!
Preserved is a hidden gem of St Augustine. Tucked back in an older residential area in a renovated home you get to experience the quiet beauty of some of the more historic area outside the usual tourist haunts. The food is consistently excellent with a number of the dishes featuring some of their homemade preserved elements. My personal favorite is their shrimp and grits. This Southern staple is taken to new heights.
This was probably one of the best meals of my life. Our waiter Justin was knowledgeable and friendly and his advice on pairings was spot on! I would totally recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting a great experience! We even went on a nice walk around the neighborhood after.
Food and ambiance was excellent. Pam our server was fantastic and very cordial and attentive. Better experience than prior visit.would highly recommend
Bouillabaisse consisted of lukewarm seafood slathered in a sticky, over-salted tomato sauce. The fish itself in the special was prepared well but the "crawfish étouffée" served around it was seemingly made with the same pasty base as the bouillabaisse. The rice "middlins" resembled watery rice pudding. Roasted asparagus side dish was a mix of nearly raw and cooked asparagus, about 4 stalks worth - I can do better at home.
We loved the setting and the service was good, but the food itself was not a pleasure.
Excellent fresh fish/seafood options and wonderful short ribs and meat options. The foods are surrounded by excellent vegetables and starch. Local ingredients, freshly prepared and artfully presented. A great spot with a craft beer selection and extensive wine list. Save room for desert! Enjoy.
Another excellent group of meals, and tried the pork chop for the first time. Amazing. This place is consistently excellent. Highly recommend.
We went early since we had a concert to go to. Our dining experience was exceptional. Staff was awesome and the food delicious. Tomato tartare was really so good. Even brought cucumber slices to accommodate my gluten free son.
Food was outstanding and service was great! So glad we choose for our anniversary! Best shrimp and grits, and the banana bread pudding is to die for.
The place was gorgeous, the food was amazing. We ordered the scallops and boullabaise, the banana bread pudding. Our dinner was perfect.
This was our first time visit for our anniversary and we had a most pleasant dining experience. We had outside seating and enjoyed that very much. Even though it was June, the outdoor temperature was comfortable. Our preference would be outdoor on our next visit.
Reputed to one of the best in St. Augustine, we were disappointed. The menu includes only 8 or so entrees. The only item that looked interesting was triple tail on a rice and etouffee base but grouper was substituted for the triple tail, it was dry and coarse. The etouffee base was quite good. The wine list is extensive and very good, but there is no full bar (i.e. no hard liquor). The inside dining room is small and traditional but plain. Service was attentive and responsive.
As usual the food in the atmosphere was great! Well worth the short drive off the beaten path.
Preserved remains the go to restaurant in St. Augustine for above casual and fine dining experiences. Reservations and special requests are handled professionally and efficiently. The well-designed limited menu contains fresh, imaginative items from appetizers to desserts. The varied wine list has quality selections for economical to expensive tastes. The seafood and locally procured meats remain menu highlights, and desserts complement meals.
Check out Preserved for a casual afternoon charcuterie board and wine to a full, special occasion dinner. You will not be disappointed!
Exceptional service and food. Gourmet food, with an attentive staff. Great for any special occasion or just a fantastic meal out. Fantastic experience from time we were seated through desert. Make reservations here if in st. Augustine.
