Our group of five had a wonderful dinner on the porch. Food was excellent. Started with the antipasto plate. The house made charcuterie was a pleasant surprise. Among the entrees, we had the cassoulet, the catfish, and the mussels. All were outstanding. Didn't have room for dessert, but they looked so good, we had them anyway. The wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. Two in our party were visiting from France. They were impressed. We would not hesitate to recommend the Preserved to others. When back in St. Augustine, we will most certainly dine again at Preserved.
Fabulous food in a charming setting. I make a reservation every time I travel to St. Augustine - it is special.
Always a great dining experience. They do a great job working with someone that has a food allergy.
We had an excellent meal and the weather was perfect for the porch. We recommend this restaurant. Very pretty setting and atmosphere.
First trip to Preserved. Will definitely will recommend.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary this weekend after hearing about it from a fellow foodie couple.
Jacksonville has no shortage of great eats, including Orsay and Blacksheep. But I must say this is a new favorite. Amazing food, great service and a beautiful Victorian venue. Definitely a top recommendation from us
Outstanding food, outstanding service, outstanding experience. Our table had a bit of everything- braised short ribs, shrimp & grits, scallops and pork chop. Each dish was prepared perfectly with an awesome presentation. I have lived in the area for 7 years - this was my first visit but will not be my last.
Excellent, excellent, excellent!!!! All around 5 stars!! From server - meal choices - dinner - AMAZING. Exceeds our expectations every time we come, which is why we keep coming back. Thank you!
Always great. Love this place
Amazing food. Be prepared to pay perhaps more than you anticipated, but check the menu online if you're worried about the cost. In my opinion, the cost was well worth it - the food was exceptional. I'll be back.
Excellent service. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items and the wine list
Amazing experience from start to finish. Fantastic food, service, wine... We were not rushed and felt like the staff was eager to share their enjoyment. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Overall the service is improving since we didn’t have to wait 45 minutes for bread but the young ladies at the hostess stand could pretend to enjoy their jobs just a little. A smile from either one would have been nice.
Sat on porch right at a window that was awkward with a couple on the other side
Food was excellent. No bar so don’t get there early.
Our second trip to Preserved. We would go more often if it wasn't a few hundred miles from our home. The menu is interesting and the food is well executed. My husband's scallops were perfect, and I couldn't have been happier with my charcuterie plate. We ate on the porch and it was perfect.
Very nice restaurant in historical building. We could't have lunch as it was Sunday brunch. But very tasty
Always a wonderful experience at the Preserved. Food is always fresh and delicious and service is fantastic.
This was our third visit to Preserved and it has gotten better each time. Everything was top notch, food, service and ambiance. Our son who lives in Chicago and is quite the " foodie" was with us and he thought it was great.
I have been here several times and will continue to eat at preserved. However we had horrible service this time and 3 of the 5 meals we ordered were cold. The restaurant made this right but was disappointing that it happened.
We celebrated an anniversary dinner here and had a lovely experience. The service was wonderful, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was just charming. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will return again!
This was our first visit to Preserved but definitely will not be our last. Our server was Pamela and she was spot on. She knew when to give us additional time to review and discuss the menu but was never far away. My husband had the soup of the day which was a velvety sweet potato soup with candied pecans. First rate. I had the arugula, roasted beet and blue cheese salad which was not only tasty, but had an elegant presentation. For the mains, my husband had the fish of the day (flounder) which he said it was one of the best meals he has had for a long time. I had the scallops which were equally good. We also had the creamed spinach which was out of this world. They also have a nice wine list. We were too full for dessert but we will definitely save room next time as they sounded wonderful. The ambience of the was restaurant was lovely as well. It is in a lovely restored old home in Lincolnville with a gracious wrap around front porch. The lighting was subdued and the music was great - Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, etc. The chef and owner have created a wonderful dining experience - one that will lure customers again and again.
I have taken guests to the Preserved Restaurant many times for supper and Sunday brunch and have never been disappointed. The menu is wide-ranging, portions are ample and the preparation impeccable. I can vouch for the wines, soups, tomato tartar, shrimp and grits, sea scallops, and steak, among other dishes. In Saint Augustine, parking can be a hassle but not at the Preserved. In all, it is hard to beat as a high-end, yet casual dress place to dine.
Try the Shrimp and Grits! The butter for the bread is incredible.
We will definitely be returning! It was great to celebrate at such a wonderful place!
Wife and I
Very nice, surprised I had not heard of this restaurant before. We had a great experience, would definitely recommend this to friends and will visit it again in near future.
I think my server was cheryl, she was outstandiing. The whole experience waa amazing,
A gem in St. Augustine that is a step above the other restaurants.
Impeccable service and five-star food make Preserved one of the true gems of St. Augustine!
Waited an hour for our food waitress forgot various requests. The potato’s were full of grease. Restaurant is very pretentious
Wonderful restaurant for Sunday brunch.
One of the best restaurant desserts, with the sweet potatoe bread pudding!
Everything was excellent fr the first moment we sat down. Wine, app, entree, coffee, all wonderful! (Too full for dessert)
Good food, good service in a very nice setting (a well kept house with a large porch and surrounding yard all set with tables. All in all a very nice evening
The other night was the 4th time we have been to Preserved and not one time did we regret it. Whenever we want a nice meal near downtown and want to go with some friends Preserved is top of the list. Every single one of us cleaned our plates from appetizer to dessert. Highly recommend
We had a wonderful times visiting for our anniversary. Would highly recommend.
We always enjoy the menu selections but would really like more poultry (chicken especially) options.
Charming restaurant! We went for brunch on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. We shared the spinach salad, which features goat cheese bacon lardons, very thinly-sliced apple and lightly dressed with a bacon vinaigrette. Delicious! I loved the 102 Bridge Eggs, which is similar to eggs Benedict, but has tender cornmeal-crusted fried oysters. My friend ordered the Eggs Benedict, and while it was good, it was a little disappointing. It is described in the menu as "English muffin, crispy prosciutto, soft poached eggs & hollandaise sauce." However, the prosciutto is more like a garnish than a key ingredient -- just a tiny sprinkling of bits on the top. Both were served with Lyonnaise potatoes -- perfectly browned new potato halves and caramelized onions. The atmosphere is lovely. I would definitely return for dinner on a future visit to St. Augustine.
More restaurants need to take notice of what Preserved is doing. Every aspect of our visit was seamless, executed to perfection, yet relaxed and casual. This place pays attention to detail where most other restaurants fail. I went for brunch. The menu had a wide range of choices. The porch seating was perfect. And all of it was locally sourced food. So good. Can't wait to go back again!
We came here for Sunday brunch to celebrate our recent marriage. We are just passing through the area, so I don’t know much about it, but I thought the neighborhood was charming and the renovated house the restaurant is in is absolutely beautiful. If the weather is nice, sit on the porch. The food was really good, so were the mimosas. Wait staff was really on top of their game. All in all, great experience.
