Preserved Restaurant, owned and operated by James Beard Award nominee Chef Brian Whittington, serves authentic, locally-sourced, ingredient-driven southern cuisine, giving homage to the history of Lincolnville.
Very good food at a price expected for fine dining. Server a tad snooty.
Delicious good and beautiful setting. Not rushed. Wine and fish excellent. Try to come here every year
Our meal at Preserved was marvelous. The tomato tartare we shared was unique, intense tomato-y and very good. We have three incredible entrees: shrimp and grits, mussels and fabulous fries, and sea scallops. All three were simply top notch. We also shared a butterscotch sundae....it was terrific! This restaurant continues to get better and has become one of the best in St. Augustine.....a must-visit for anyone coming to (or living in) this area. We bring all our out-of-town guests here. On-site parking is a plus. Reservations are necessary!
This is by far the best experience we have had in st augustine in five years. The food was fantastic, and the service we recieved from Pam was outstanding. They were incredibly accommodating with my severe seafood allergy as they made sure it was brought to the attention of the kitchen staff. I myself am a bartender downtown and love finding places like this to recommend to my own customers. Our experience was so great that my fiancee and I have vowed to make this restaurant our monthly date night location.
Loved our hostess. Asked if there was a celebration...yes..70th birthday ...champagne and dessert 0n Preserved...
Great ambiance ...good music..very enjoyable evening.🤗
My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at Preserved this past weekend. We were there to celebrate his birthday. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a spectacular dining experience. Our waiter was Justin and he was phenomenal. The food was delicious and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests. We look forward to returning for another delicious meal on our next trip to St. Augustine.
The food was well prepared, creative and tasty. The menu was written by a foodie who speaks several languages and found it necessary to confuse the diner with needless jargon and pretentious descriptions.
Dinner for four, with a total of two adult libations (two among the four of us) was $200 with the tip. The food was not THAT good. The ambience was on the gallery under a propane heater in the wind with street traffic fumes wafting by.
The staff were attentive. The hostess was at once obsequious and impertinent.
Did not see the value in the cuisine or the experience.
This is an upscale restaurant with outstanding service and delicious food. Limited seating is available, so reservations are needed. Will go back.
Excellent food and service. I forgot my left overs on the chair and our waiter brought them to our vehicle before we pulled out of the lot. Now that is fantastic service!
We had two excellent starters and entrees. The service was knowledgeable and seamless. A comfortable environment with an understated decor.
We ate on the lovely wrap around porch during a cool rainy morning. The wide roof and space heaters kept us dry and comfy. Food and service were excellent. We plan on returning to check out the dinner menu.
Food was consistently good from beginning soup to delectable dessert. Service was competent and amiable. Overall an enjoyable experience!
We had a lovely dinner at Preserved. Our serve, Nicole, achieved the perfect balance of friendly and professional. The rest of the staff was equally friendly and helpful. The food was amazing! From start to finish, everything was delicious and well presented. The restaurant is so quaint and charming. We will definitely be back!
The restaurant was very beautiful the food was amazing and I would love to go back again and I would tell all my friends to go and our service was great that was very informative how to pair things and the kitchen was just as outstanding as ever we expected
Wonderful food. Good wine list. Very good service
We had a wonderful dinner on the patio with excellent service.
We love preserved, go there each time we visit st Augustine. Fabulous service, great food!
For a restaurant with a James Beard nominated chef, we were deeply disappointed with the bland taste of our dinner. While our cheese tray was spectacular, the shrimp bisque was flavorless. Same for the shrimp & grits as well as the PEI Mussels. Definitely need more seasoning. Our server Pam was outstanding as was her assistant “Jazzy.”
The short ribs were very salty. The spinach salad was mostly spinach and the dressing, well it just tasted like spinach. The bacon dressing was not what I expected. The waitress was superb, the water and bread girl was also very efficient. I was here a couple of years ago when the restaurant opened and the scallops were not cooked and gritty, I thought I would never come back. There are other restaurants that I would patronize.
We enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner for my friend here; the short rib, macaroni and cheese and creme brûlée were delicious! We will be back next time we’re in St. Augustine
Excellent professional service in a warm, sophisticated setting. Our dinners were exceptional and the wine choices were great. We Done!!
Terrific meal loved the tomato tartare!
We never ate our meal. We arrived at 6:30. Ordered drinks/appetizers/ dinner at the same time. Things were going well at first. The appetizers came out quickly and were good. Then we waited.... and waited... and waited... other groups came and went. By 8:00 we still had no dinner. We left. We were never told why it was taking so long. Just apologies. We didn't have to pay for our drinks/ appetizers which was nice, but left very disappointed. Had made reservations weeks ahead and were in from out of town. Won't go back. It was a bummer.
What an excellent overall experience. Our dishes were beautifully designed and delivered and the staff was warm, welcoming and attentive.
Cozy and comfortable dining room with great menu, impeccable service and delicious food!
Absolutely wonderful food and outstanding service. Thank you!
Great food & service. Would go back when we visit St. Augustine again.
Food and wine very good. Waitress and sommelier very kind and patient🌈
Great good, excellent service, beautiful building and fine jazz. Couldn’t be better.
The food was absolutely amazing! When I attended Flagler College from 2015 - 2017, I would walk by everyday and wanted to go to Preserved knowing the history behind the old home and the locally sourced ingredients. To say the least, everything didn't just meet my expectations, my expectations were exceeded from our starters to the complementary creme brulee for my birthday. I'll be returning everytime I'm in St. Augustine!
Love this gem of a restaurant
Brunch was fantastic! From the shrubmosa to the scones and shrimp ‘n grits, the execution was perfection. The wait staff were friendly and service was well timed. We enjoyed it so much, we immediately made dinner reservations upon leaving.
Preserved was an awesome experience! Our group started with the cinnamon rolls and their freshly made scones, and it really set the tone for the rest of the meal! The employees were friendly and genuinely cared about the experience of the group. When confirming our reservation, they checked our food allergies, and were helpful navigating the menu with those restrictions.
We live in a NYC suburb. We eat in NYC restaurants all the time. This restaurant is comparable to really good restaurants in NYC. Fresh ingredients, imaginative ideas, very cordial service. Great meal. Going back for brunch tomorrow.
Always a pleasure to it on the delightful porch and enjoy the food Preserved prepares. Recommend it
My wife and I enjoyed our experience very much. We tried some menu items we never had before such as steak tartare and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and courteous. The restaurant offers indoor seating, seating in a private garden with a wood burning stove, or you can have dinner on the front porch and soak in some of the Saint Augustine atmosphere. Overall, I would highly recommend Preserved to anyone who enjoys fine dining surrounded by history. I plan to return.
Excellent Food and Service! We’ll be back 😊
We had such a wonderful experience at Preserved! Such a gem in the middle of St Augustine! Our food was awesome, but what overshadowed this, was the service and ambiance. We sat outside on the covered porch. When we checked in, the hostess asked us if we have any food allergies etc - we told her that we don't eat pork (and having read their menu, knew this would limit our choices). We wondered why the hostess would ask this and what she would do with this information... Our waitress introduced herself and said, "I understand that you don't eat pork. Most of our menu items listed with bacon can be make without, so just let me know what you would like". How awesome was that! It happened to be our anniversary week, which we mentioned - surprise! We were offered a free glass (each) of sparkling wine or creme brulee. How nice is that!
Food was paced well, delivered pleasantly by several different staff - all professional and friendly. Can't rave more about Preserved. It was a wonderful evening.
This was my third time at Preserved and it never disappoints. I came with my husband for our anniversary and we went all out. The charcuterie board was great and the assortment of cheese and pates was delicious. We shared cooked oysters for an appetizer and then I had the scallops and my husband had the steak with a side of grits- both very good. At this point we were pretty full so we didn't finish the entrees but then they sent us a creme brulee and suddenly we had more room! It was so delicious it was heavenly! Definitely order this if you get the chance. The chardonnay was excellent as well. This was our first date night in a year (small child :/) and it was really a perfect evening and anniversary!
Did not know that they did not have any alcohol, such as vodka, scotch. Only one in 6 of our party had a glass of wine, the rest don’t drink wine. So nothing to drink with dinner, awkward. Food choices ok, but when staying at the Casa downtown, I wouldn’t have walked that far for dinner.
