It was a good dining experience, food good and portions large! We were celebrating the 50th wedding anniversary of out of town friends on 6/14/2016. I called in advance to inquire if something special could be done to make the event memorable and was told that the manager would provide dessert, but that never happened!
The beef brisket was so delicious--melts in your mouth! The corn bread was awesome & the Mac & cheese was so good. The service was awesome !
One very important feature of a great restaurant is consistency and Pot Liquor has mastered smoking for every meal.
We started with the Burnt End appetizer that is made from Brisket cuts with a maple infused BBQ sauce. It comes served over toast.
Next went to Spare me Baby half spare ribs and half baby back ribs. The spare ribs are dry rubbed and amazing. Very meaty and juicy. Baby backs are wet rubbed and also very moist.
Finished dinner with Key Lime in a Mason Jar. This is a decomposed Key Lime pie that is wonderful.
just writing this makes me want to go back.
We love this restaurant!
I had a reservation for a later time and happened to come in an hour earlier than expected, and they were able to accommodate us without hesitation. (A party of 10.) Service was good, the food was even better and I will be recommended this place to everyone !!
One of the best dry rub BBQ places in town and nothing masked by BBQ sauce. The green beans were fresh and the hopping John was tasty too.
Their BBQ is fantastic. Tried both their Dry Rub ribs and Texas brisket, excellant! Comfortable atmosphere, relaxed. Great service. Definitely a WINNER
We started with appetizers . . brisket ends, deviled eggs, meatballs with bacon. We ordered the combination "Lord have mercy". It was great. there were multiple sauces to try - traditional smokey bbq, chilpolte bbq, even a "white" bbq sauce made with mayonaisse and vinegar. The meal came with sides and we tried the Hoppin' John because it sounded so interesting and different - we would have never found that in Maryland! It is made with peas and rice and is a perfect match for the ribs! Probably anything! I am not a big fan of dry ribs but these ribs were perfect to try the sauces with. My favorite is the chilpolte. We all would definitely recommend this place and wish they would come to Maryland! The owner was visiting every table and we even got to meet the chef. We had a wonderful night with great food and a great atmosphere!
The food was outstanding!! Bottom line, that is what matters most to me. Service was ok. But I came to eat and eat I did. Amazing and I would highly recommend!
The half order of spare ribs came with 6. I took more than half home with the sides. Ribs were good size with plenty of meat on them. Hoppin John and kale cashew salad were delicious. I would go back to try the baby back ribs. I went with 4 friends and they enjoyed their meals as well.
I had a group of 14 people. Everyone loved it but the bar was very slow getting our carafes to the table for brunch. I had to go to the bar myself 3 times to ask for more. The waiter said he would keep the rounds coming but the bar was so slow it didn't happen. I would go back but for quicker bar service
Service was fantastic, sweet tea was very good. The food was above average, but not my favorite BBQ. Mac and Cheese......HEAVEN. I will return.
For our group of 5 people we ordered three appetizers. The fresh cooked pork rinds were delicious. The deviled eggs and Moinks (bacon wrapped meatballs) were good but not great. We ordered four full platters, pork ribs, baby back ribs, pulled pork and brisket and all of them were exceptional and provided enough food for everyone to take a "to go" box home. The Cashew Kale slaw is excellent as are the collard greens. Hopping Johns (rice and black eyed peas) was a nice mix. The succotash and macaroni and cheese were Ok. You get alot of value for your dollar here and have leftovers that taste great the next day. I will be going back.
This was such a great find. We have been all over this town trying new restaurants and this one is a definite keeper. We will happily return often.
Good food, but, pricy for the amount. They seem to want to be 4 star on the presentation. But, for southern ribs, chicken, etc., seems to more family format. Ribs are tasty, service could be more attentive.
My husband and I both found the food to be overpriced and completely lacking in taste.my potato salad was bland and my pulled pork was super salty.
The food is always excellent at Pot Liquor and the service is fantastic. Once again they over delivered. Ribs are the best in town.
This was our first time at Pit Liquor. Glad we went. Very good bbq, great service, and the prices were comparable to other bbq restaurants in town. We'll definitely be back and bring others.
I love the Memphis dry rubbed ribs; my wife loves the bacon rapped meatballs. They make the best key lime pie & the best sweat potatoes we have EVER had. You get a good amount of food for your money.
Went in for their brunch on Sunday with bottomless mimosas and bellinis. While the food was great tasting portion sizes were small. Bellinis are what brought me in only to find out they didn't have the peach ingredient to make them (major bummer)
Service was amazing, football game on made the atmosphere great for a Sunday.
Not sure if I would return
The management knows southern style food, preparation and service. Ribs are the stars here and they have a variety of choices, as well as a number of rubs/sauces. There are about a dozen appetizer choices and almost as many sides; most of the entrees come with your choice of 2 sides. The ribs were great, the sides were fantastic, and the service was just as wonderful. The chef prepared a side dish for me personally due to a food allergy and actually came out of the kitchen to talk about it with me. The housemade mac 'n cheese was fantastic; the black-eyed peas (called hoppin' john on the menu) were great, although mine were done special because they usually are combined with rice, spices, and the "trinity" of veggies; and my son said the collard greens were the best he'd ever eaten. We had plenty to eat and even took home leftovers and had another meal. Value is good for portion size and the prices are average for Vegas. They have a number of beer selections, although not many on draft nor many I'd heard of, and of course wine choices and mixed drinks. Dinner for 2 and 4 beers (including tax and tip) was just short of $100.
Our server was terrific, and the manager worked the room all evening to talk to patrons; I appreciate that in a restaurant. The restaurant isn't huge, so I can see that reservations are recommended, especially for groups. There is a large bar and there are TV's located all around the bar area that were tuned into different sporting events. The restaurant is casual, airy, clean, and comfortable; goes right along with the style of the menu.
I will say, however, parking is a bear! The restaurant is near a huge movie theater in a huge shopping center, so it's BUSY! We did discover, however, that there is valet parking right outside the front door, which we assumed is for anyone wishing to use it.
Overall, we really enjoyed our evening and would definitely go back, as well as recommend it to anyone who enjoys true southern cooking.
It was our first time eating there and the food although a little bit on the pricey side was fantastic. We told all of our friends and will definitely be back!
Pulled pork, Spare ribs, and baby back ribs were all amazing. Don't forget to use the vinegar sauce on the pulled pork!
Been a bartender for 30 years: this place has the best margarita that I've ever had, with a peach nectar. Ribs are awesome, service excellent, pretty quick. Great place.
Our server was very friendly and very knowledgable. He made great recommendations. We started with moinks and oh my. I'm not really a meatball lover, but these were to die for. Very tasty meat, cooked well on the outside, bbq sauce and bacon wrapped. I would go back for them alone. Dinner was great. We got the Go Hog Wild combo. About $35. Plenty for 2 people. The ribs were so good. So was the pulled pork and hot links. We got green beans and corn succotash for sides. The sides were a little on the crunchy side for our taste. But let's be real, we didn't come here for the sides. Next time we'll try the macaroni & cheese and the rice dish called the hoppin John. So glad we tried this place. It was awesome.
I had reservations, arrived about 5 minutes early and was told I could not be seated at that time as they had to give the kitchen a break so they could "get caught up". I had to wait until AFTER my reservation time to be seated, even though the table I was sat at was open the whole time. My order was not put in correctly and I did not receive the correct "side" until I was almost done with my dinner. I was not offered anything but a "Sorry" even though the table next to me had the same thing happen and was offered a 10% discount. Not sure I will ever be back to visit. I will add this, their yams are the bomb but not worth coming back for, given all the other issues.
Food was great and our server is awesome and very helpful. The manager also came to us a few times to ask if we need anything and how the food was. It was a great night for our group dinner there.
great BBQ, some of the best in the Vegas have not found a place like it Vegas 2nd time there is great get the big platter it will feed 4
We went to Pot Liquor because my MIL wanted to try it after hearing about the great greens and the delicious barbeque. But, I must say, as a woman married to a real rib-master, I wasn't chomping at the bit for the experience. However, I love my MIL, and she is going through tough times with the death of her husband of 50 years.
Well, the greens were spot on! Delicious, not overcooked, and seasoned well. The deviled eggs were excellent, and the bacon-wrapped meatball appetizers were different and well-seasoned, with a nicely spicy slaw on the side.
By the time our generous portions of ribs came, we were rather full on the apps, and I only got through one rib. I found it toothy, and not in a good way. I also found my order too rare for my comfort. But the flavor was spot on, not even requiring the tasty sauce that came on the side.
Now, on the second day, when we returned to our leftovers for dinner, everything was great. Reheating gave my half order of ribs the level of done-ness I'm more comfortable with, and the sides lived up to the challenge of microwaving. The mac and cheese was balanced and creamy, the greens were the good kind of toothsome, and the hopping john was great too. The ribs, though, had us all quiet and happy.
The only disappointment with our meals was the succotash. We three believe succotash to require corn and lima beans, so the pearl onions and garbanzo beans in the mix were confusing texturally and tastewise.
Charming decor, with a nice sense of privacy, notwithstanding the large room. Our food was delivered in a timely fashion, and the server was pleasant and helpful.
Restaurant's reservation system was down. It felt like a disaster looming, BUT after a 15 min. wait we were seated - near the entrance - but seated. Menu was a 3-course smoked turkey dinner for $21.95 (can't beat the price!) Everything seemed pre-plated, and salad was limp. Not certain the smoked turkey was worth the drive across town.
Need Greens for a Thanksgiving Feast. The Greens here are like my Mother made. Fantastic. Took home 2 Hotel pans full. Tender Brisket. Loved the Mac & Cheese. Didn't feel like a customer. Felt more like Eating at a Friends. This is a Gem in Town Center.
Food was really good, our server wasn't the best. He said it was his first day but spent more than 20 min hanging out in the back and not taking our order. Bummer.
The collard greens were amazing and of course, the pot liquor was great. The meats were spectacular and the sides were equally impressive. I went with a large group (10 people) and we shared the Lord Have Mercy platter. I recommend it for large groups as you get a sampling of everything.
Food arrived rather quickly. Waitress was only fair, nonchalant. But the support staff and person providing entree delivery to the table were very friendly, pleasant and helpful.
Nice portions; candied yams and ribs are recommended
The combination plates are huge along with two sides, definitely taking home a snack for later on. Not your basic barbecue, The ribs had deep flavor and were very tender.
Very nice server but food was terrible: brisket flavorless and no sauce/seasoning on it, pulled pork yummy, ribs chewy and again flavorless, slaw had no dressing/flavor on it and Mac n cheese also sadly flavorless...I think the chef forgot to stock up on seasoning!
My husband chose this restaurant to celebrate his birthday with 20 of his friends. The restaurant handle it just fine. Everyone enjoy the food. The orders were handled with not no problem. The mixed drinks were disappointing, to watered down, but all in all excellent. They allowed me to bring in our own desserts. When we arrived, the staff took the birthday cake and other desserts to the kitchen until time. Everything was done in an orderly fashion. Well done.
Great food and excellent service. This a great place with good food!! But charging your customers for water is cheap & petty. Time to end this practice as it distracts from the quality food, reasonable prices and solid service!!
We had a business meeting at Pot Liquor. While its not much to look at from the inside or outside the food is beyond expectations. We had the MEAT sampler it included brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. It was enough to share for three people. We also got a half a rack of the dry rub ribs that were outstanding. The sides were generous and very flavorful. Some of the best deviled eggs I ever had.
Portions are very good with enough to take home and have for lunch the next day. What a great surprise to find a non chain smoke house in Vegas. By the way they are also voted 2015 Best BBQ in Vegas and now I know why.
excellent BBQ with several kinds of sauce. Ribs, brisket were outstanding. Wait Staff were fun and friendly.
Not what we expected! Food preparation was less than stellar, cold unseasoned, and green beans wasn't cooked, barbecue chicken still had pink in the middle. The service was very bad. They only had one waitress for half the restaruant, she only visit our table once after she took our order and that was to deliver the check and Togo boxes. We want be back!!
