Always my favorite restaurant when I come to Lexington. Our server appeared to be new - he was very friendly and nice, but didn't bring bread until the end of dinner, didn't offer parmesan, didn't refill water glasses, and was slow with the bills. Still love the food - the strawberry salad was excellent!! Ravioli was great too.
One of the gems of Atlanta. It gets better each season. The new chef is a master of subtle taste.
The servers always make their guests feel like family. This ambience enhances the dining experience. Kelly and Alvin have been there for years. Newcomers Kate and Nicole succeed in making a visit memorable.
The outdoor terrace is always in demand, as it should be.
I had a party with five and it was a lovely evening. The service was great, we took our time with conversation and were never rushed. The food was excellent, a house 2016 Flat Rock Merlot was enjoyable and we will be back. Also parking was ample at the door. All great!
Excellent food and service for a date night or special occasion, a bit pricey with entree prices ranging up to $36 but some options in the mid-$20’s as well. Everything I’ve tried or friends have tried was always amazing!
Enjoyed good service and excellent food. A couple of little glitches, had to wait a bit to get a cocktail menu, waited a bit to long for both drinks and appetizers to come out, but over all very good service and wonderful food on a very busy night. We were celebrating so this was a perfect pick for a very special night. The bruschetta is worth the visit.
Grossly overpriced for sub-mediocre food. No one in my party had a positive thing to say about Portofino
Overall awesome experience. Food is excellent as always. Our waiter for the evening was either have an off night or didn't care. When ordering main course wasn't given the choice of pasta which is standard. We also felt a bit rushed at times. Also we ordered dessert but I was nearly done with my glass of wine but before I could ask for a refill or an after dinner drink she was gone. Again food was excellent the service could have been better.
Wonderful! I love Portofino but had never taken my mother. She was so thrilled. The owner came and talked with us as well. Perfection from start to finish. Highly recommend!
Great service awesome food (taste and portions)
Risotto as good as always
We had a wonderful meal! Food was delicious and service was great!
Awesome restaurant and the food is even better. Very cozy and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
Great restaurant - food is fabulous and service is better!
Out of town guests and wanted a great restaurant in town. Bartender was sad. Clearly not enthusiastic about her job but it would have been nice to at least try to be nice. Vaping while working was sadder. Waiter was very good but main course special had some problems and could not be finished. No real action by waiter after being told so. Special attention paid to regulars while tourists got a lot less of it. Food was ok. Bruschetta was a disappointment also.
Service meal and wine were very mice
A charming place which is a little hard to find but has its own parking. Our reservation was at 8 and we were seated promptly. Our dinner partners were driving in from out of town and somehow thought Lexington was Central time so they didn't show up till 9. The staff could not have been more accommodating, no looks, no comments, they just keep checking back at appropriate intervals. We believe even the owner stopped by to discuss the wine we had selected and how he had visited the winery in Italy. Once our partners arrived again the service was superb, no rush, just as if everyone had arrived on time. We had the Baked Brie and Toasted Ciabatta appetizer, delicious. Our friends shared a Cesar Salad and my wife and I shared the Goat Cheese and Apple salad. For our main course everyone had the Risotto of the day along with our meat of choice. Perfectly prepared risotto and mine included six nice size shrimp, more food than I could eat. I would definitely go back the next time we are in Lexington.
It is always a pleasure and a highlight of our trip to Lexington each Spring and Fall for the Keeneland races to visit Portofino's. The food, service, ambiance are incomparable, and it's especially nice to see the owner, Wayne Masterman, when we visit. Wayne is what makes Portofino's one of the finest restaurants in the Lexington area......a very gracious host, paying attention to details, making you feel welcome, and there's always new additions to the menu, like the warm brie w/toasted ciabatta.......absolutely delicious, and always an excellent selection of wines.
Looking forward to our next visit in the Fall!
The food was so delicious, and the service was very good. Our server was very friendly and attentive.
Excellent setting, excellent service and outstanding food!!
Great service and restaurant. Food was good but rather bland.
The food was not good. Over $30 for shrimp Alfredo and there was hardly any shrimp and very bland. The chicken Parmesan had so much sauce you couldn’t taste much else and very little chicken.
Our entrees were very good
Did not like ir
The service was impeccable. The food truly Italian and very good. We had a lovely time at Portofinos.
Great night! Large selection of wine and drinks. Menu is smaller than other places but every dish is quality. Large pasta, meats, and seafood options. They also had a great fixed menu- 3 courses for $33 and you can substitute a glass of house wine for one of the courses. Would recommend!
Excellent service and great food
Portofino is a local Lexington gem. My brother-in-law was in town, so we decided to go to Portofino for nice dinner. Our waiter (Jay) was terrific and the food was outstanding. We had the scallops and salmon. Both were perfect. I highly recommend Portofino!!
Always consistent with delivering warm service within a welcoming environment that’s vibrant yet still very relaxing. Explore any dish and you can’t go wrong. With our visit, my quest was traveling in from abroad and it left us arriving late in the evening - despite it being near closing, they didn’t miss a beat. The meal was wonderful as has always been my experience, and in fact despite the late hour we were still left feeling very welcomed and not rushed whatsoever...they welcomed us like good friends in their own home.
Always a good choice. Cheers!
It was a nice place but waaayy over priced. I had the short ribs, which was the special. That was good. My husband had the sea bass. It was terrible! Over cooked and chewy. We shared my plate, which was more than enough for us. It was just OK. No WOW factor for the price we paid.
Went before game at Rupp. Good time good food good company.
Portofino is one of my favorite restaurants. They always have great food and specials that change. Relaxing place to enjoy an evening if you want or quick if you need to go somewhere after. They are also open on Sunday and Monday when many good restaurants are closed.
The food was good but we were catching up with friends and felt a bit rushed . It was a Sunday night but they seemed happy to see us leave at 9:30 . A bit off putting and does not make you want to rush back
Haven't been here in years. Always love the restaurant itself. Food has always been good. Slow service. Had a 7:30 reservation. seated right away. Ordered drinks and looked at menu. Ordered before 8:00 and didn't get food until 9:00. took forever to get check and pay it after eating.
the hostess was kind enough to seat this old lady in a quiet room. I was visiting with my children and was ableto hear them . Great
As always wonderful food, big wine list and bourbon list. Service was great and will go back!
Food was excellent but service was terrible..Slow at bringing food and getting the check. On top of that we had a party of 6,tip added to check that was max tip.Bad business!
We were in town for a wedding and the host of our Airbnb had recommended this restaurant so we gave it a shot. It didn't seem very busy for a Friday night, so we weren't sure how it would go, but our meal was excellent from start to finish. Two of the people in our party shared the mussels appetizer which was HUGE and they raved about it. Our dishes varied but the hit was the risotto special of the night. We can't complain about anything we sampled and everyone was satisfied with their dinner choices. Service was good, however there was a period where we felt it was just a little too slow, but nothing that would prevent us from returning. Overall a great dining experience for us.
This is an outstanding restaurant. Wayne Masterman is a great host, the staff is very attentive and personable, and the food is outstanding. It is a must do when in Lexington.
Hadn't been in several years - it was just as good as I remembered. You really can't go wrong here.
