It’s been many years since we last visited Porters but the quality of food, exceptional wine selection, professional staff and unsurpassed relaxing atmosphere is still top notch. While not the cheapest restaurant around you more than get what you pay for and should always short list it if you want a special dining occasion.
Always a great evening dining at Porters...certainly not inexpensive by ANY stretch of the imagination but well worth the expense!!
Everything was very good! The waitress was excellent in recognizing we wanted to visit prior to ordering! She kept the Spirits coming quickly when ordered.
The server was very friendly and managed us well. The hostess was awesome and very polite. She certainly adds flavor to the place in a great way. We enjoyed the escargot and crabcakes. The crabcakes were the best in town I have had comparable to the east coast. Excellent! The escargot was great and full of flavor but the crustinis need some work. Very hard. Id recommend a puff pastry on top. We had a excellent bottle of pinot noir. The server was very confident in the wine and offered us a taste before we accepted it. The lobster bisque was excellent. The 8 and 10oz filets were excellent. I had to return my 10oz though because it was overcooked to medium but the Chef put out a medium rare steak in a good time frame. The bernaise had a very strong lemon flavor and I wonder if the bernaise is made from scratch our a powder mix which would constitute for the additional lemon. Overall this was a great experience and it was well needed. Excellent anniversary and great time. FYI this review was written by Chef :) Keep up the good work. We celebrated our anniversary there, service what's great, the food was amazing, and they did a wonderful job with social distancing. It was a very comfortable environment and yet you felt they were doing everything possible to you and the staff safe during Covid. To celebrate our anniversary, they also sent us home with a large piece of the most amazing carrot cake we've ever had!
Awesome food and a great, safe, place to enjoy a night out. Our waiter (Kevin) was on point and very pleasant to talk to.
I chose Porter’s for my birthday because the web site said it was prime rib night. Though we were disappointed they had no prime rib, they made up for it by comping my drink and dessert. The pepperloin steaks were cooked perfectly.

The waiter was attentive and friendly. The pepperloin was cooked perfectly and the lobster mac and cheese with wonderful. A really good selection of wines by the glass (and a great wine list). The only change that was effected by the current situation was the restricted dessert menu but the carrot cake was huge and delicious. Don't sleep on the 20 year Tawny Port. Thanks to all, very enjoyable evening.

Wonderful service (Zach) and amazing food. The steaks are consistently delicious and the restaurant has such a nice feel to it. After a busy day it is so nice to sit back in a quiet atmosphere and enjoy a wonderful meal without feeling rushed/hurried. Still my favorite place to have a quality steak in the St. Louis area.
Arrived at 6:00 as planed.. Seated right away. Our server ( ZAK ) came to our table right away with water, came back with our drink order., at which time he took our order. Order arrive quickly and the steak was as ordered and warm. After dinner we had coffee and desert. I have to say once again everything was wonderful and our server Zak did a great job taking care of our needs.

Porters exceeded our expectations!! The food was fabulous, the staff was very attentive, and we sat outside under the tent! There were 5 of us and everyone would go back!!
First Saturday open since who knows when. Didn't skip a beat. Wasn't quite the same menu, but definitely had plenty to choose from. Pepper loin was perfect, but that's to be expected here.

Customer service was great but the food was horrible... my wife literally had to ask me to leave the restaurant so I wouldn’t interrupt other people dinner..

Food is always excellent, however it wasn’t real warm when served. But we were seated outdoors and it was a cooler night! Not the best we are used to there, but still very good under the circumstances.
Even though outside seating was the only option because of COVID, it was till a great experience.
My server Chris was so kind and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the food that he recommended. I also appreciated the knowledge and patience of Craig during our pre-service wine tasting. We will certainly be back!

First visit and will definitely be back! Highly recommend. I took my youngest daughter out for a nice meal and wow! Everything was wonderful! What a great overall experience. Service was spectacular. Our server, Chris referred to us by name the whole evening. Craig, the sommelier visited the table with a wine cart discussing and tasting various red wines from Italy, France and California. We had crab cakes for an appetizer and my daughter had lobster bisque while I enjoyed a Caesar salad. For the main course, I had their 14oz ribeye and my daughter had the peppercorn filet. Both were cooked to perfection and my ribeye was crazy flavorful. You could cut the filet with a butter knife. Finally, for dessert, we shared a piece of cheesecake. Again, excellent and reminded my daughter of Juniors in NYC. Thank you for a truly wonderful meal!
Outstanding dinner with friends for my girlfriend's birthday. The food was incredible, and everyone left happy! Free wine tasting was a nice touch!

Service was slow. Had trouble getting our servers attention. The filet was was dry and hard to cut. The asparagus was burnt completely black not charred. A lot of money for less than average food.

Valentine’s Day. Food was great, small portions on special dishes. Service was awesome, just seems a bit overpriced compared to better steakhouses in the area. Also takes away from the high end experience being connected to a not so nice hotel.
Yes the atmosphere and food was delicious. The water was a little slow, and not always attentive but he was nice.
Been there several times for special occasions. Valentines is one of them. Only reason it is not five stars is my wife’s filet was overcooked and the server forgot my coffee. But it was still a great experience. Lobster Bisque was amazing, as was the pepperloin and our favorite carrot cake. Hands down the best carrot cake. On a sad note, Jeff the Sommelier of many years and a friend passed away and we missed him.
Steak was not a quality cut of meat, looked mangled and no thicker than a Ponderosa steak. Extremely disappointed for the $170.00 I spent.
Everything was amazing. I will be coming back soon.
