Me and my husband went there for our anniversary. Everyone from the minute we walked in the door was so kind. Our waiter,Chris, topped off the experience. He was the absolute best.
First time visit to Porter's for a family birthday party of 10. We were seated in a separate room which was very nice. We ordered a variety of steaks and all were excellent. The house specialty pepper steak is excellent but the other steaks are equally good. Deserts were also excellent and serving sizes are big enough to share. Too bad we didn't try Porter's a long time ago. We will return soon.
The setting and food is very surprising for Collinsville: You do not have to drive to the "big" city for an excellent meal
Our waiter Chris was personable and professional.
Our go to place for a great meal. Chris is amazing
Celebrated my wife's birthday with family. Unexpected surprise appetizer was excellent. No complaints from anyone in the group. John and Denise made it a special night. Thanks
Flavor was great service was exceptional wish are entrees were a little warmer. Christian our server was great.
Great food & service.
We wanted to go somewhere local for our anniversary this year, and Porter's did not disappoint! Big city experience without the hassle. The food and service were incredible! Highly recommend the crème brulee.
This is a great place. Every time I come to this area, this is a must stop
Always a great experience at Porter’s and did not disappoint this time to celebrate our Anniversary!
Perfect food, service and ambience for date night (or any other night). Maria's service was excellent but unobtrusive. Porter's is our go-to place on the east side of the river in the St. Louis area.
We enjoyed the food and the service very much highly recommended .Chris great waiter. 5 🌟
Never would’ve thought that great of a meal could’ve been had at a small town restaurant coming from Chicago. New York strip was cooked perfectly, Lobster Mac was take your pants off good and the Brussels we’re great. Phenomenal bourbon and wine list ! Not many places have pappy and Booker Noe 127 available for pour and they did ! Chris is a great dude and even better server. Overall great experience.
Our dinner was great! We were there celebrating our wedding anniversary. We always ask for Denise, but she was not there on this evening...John was great! He was very friendly and attentive. We were also offered a complimentary shrimp cocktail and champagne to toast our special day. We love Porter's and it's always on our list of places to go for special occasions.
Chris was our waiter and he is AMAZING!!!! He called each of us by name and was so friendly
This was our first visit to Porters. We were celebrating our anniversary. Our host, John, and especially our server, also named John, made it a memorable evening. Thank you for the special treats!! We will definitely be back!
The food is always superb and the waiter Chris is the best. Always a go to place
I typically go to STL Ruth Chris or a steak house of similar nature, however Porter's was nothing short of amazing! Exceptional customer service, attention to detail, atmosphere would have been enough for us to return, but the food definitely well worth the price.
The hotel requires the servers to ask your first name. Too loud jazz playing.
My first time to have lunch at Porter’s was excellent. I met some friends there and we all agreed we’d like to go for lunch again.
The music piped into the restaurant had to compete with the combo working in the bar area. The competing sounds were not appreciated....degraded a potentially magnificent dining experience.
But we will return....food and service are too darn good !!!!!
Yum! Great steaks. Friendly service. Wonderful ambience.
Appetizers were great, my scallops were horrible and gritty. My husband did the prime rib special he said it was delicious.
Went for our Anniversary..Nice atmosphere..
Menu online is totally different from the one at the restaurant, which we had picked out what we wanted before we arrived and was disappointed when we didn't see them...
Our server said they could still accommodate our choices. Requested Salmon, but they were out of the Salmon!..Went with the their optional "Fresh Catch of the Day" which was Four Scallops w/ Asparagus on top of Special cream Mashed Potatoes...OK; but the Scallops were smaller than expected, Potatoes were fantastic..however the meal really didn't fill me up.
Wife picked the Filet with a Crab Cake on top...Requested Medium rare..Received Medium/Well..Had to return it and the replacement was only a little better....(Don't know why they couldn't get it right)..Wife was disappointed.
Ordered Calamari for Appetizer...Excellent...(Couple of extra sauce choices would of been nice..)
Salads were Very Good..(Little heavy on the Blue Cheese)..
Server did replace the Filet quickly, however I was finished before the replacement came back.
They did a good job keeping the water full and the bread with the three different butter offerings was a nice touch. Complimentary Dessert was nice (because of our anniversary). Dessert was the triple chocolate cake which was very good...(actually the best part)....
Overall Fair...Still debating if we will give it another try...
The staff was more then kind, friendly and did their job very well. I compliment them on their service. The chef needed lessons. We paid for a hundred plus dollar meal, but received a thirty dollar meal. My steak was burned on the outside and not as done on the inside as I ordered. It had little flavor and was hard to eat. The vegetable was something that looked like grass weeds from the parking lot and was uneditable. I just about choked on it. My wife's pork chop was dry, she would've preferred it fried instead of what she received and the baked potato she thought wasn't done. I would recommend the serving staff to, anyone, but I would replace the cooks and get a chef who knows what he's doing for those prices. Was not happy with the food at all.
John was our server and did an excellent job. We had a great time celebrating my Dad's 82nd birthday. Thank you!
We had a wonderful experience. Our waiter, John, was excellent. The ppperloin was fixed perfectly. We would totally recommend
Everything was good except for my steak. It was tough
Excellent food, excellent service. We ordered an appetizer that th waiter suggested and loved it. We split a wedge salad which was very good. Then steaks that were incredible. We will be returning.
We had an excellent server(Chris), who took very good care of us and made us feel like VIPs. The food was cooked to perfection, and we left feeling very full and satisfied that we had chosen Porters to celebrate my birthday. We were blown away with the entire experience. Thanks to the Chef, all the staff and Chris for making this a superb evening.
Took my 87 year old father to dinner with friends. Everyone loved it. Excellent dining experience!
Very nice restaurant...... It was a business dinner and it worked out very well.....
Awesome experience loved the
I recommend Porter’s Steakhouse wholeheartedly, especially for special occasions. The food was fabulous! The service from our waiter and the manager really made our 30th anniversary special.
We listened to a comotion coming from the motel lobby that was loud and destracting our entire meal. Ruined our visit.
We had a terrific dinner with family. The steaks are super and the short ribs superb. Very friendly staff and nice surroundings.
Okay...nothing special...server was scattered and annoying even though he only had two tables. Frustrating that this place is consistently inconsistent...
We celebrated my husband’s birthday. Everything was perfect. The best salmon I have ever had. Overall, our dining experience was a 10!
