Pizano's Pizza & Pasta - Madison
We were going to see Hamilton and wanted to eat close to the Private Bank theatre. We had reservations and were seated right away. Our waiter had no personality. He took our order and checked on us maybe once. My daughter had ordered a soft drink and he couldn't even remember to bring that. The food was okay. Maybe we should have ordered pizza instead of pasta. I don't see any reason to return there.
Our family was celebrating a birthday. Our waiter Chris was great and the food delicious. Thanks!
We had a wonderful lunch. Excellent Bloody Mary's! Our waiter was just the best, Uncle Chach. I've been here before, and will definitely return. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, and pizza for lunch. Everything was delicious!
I like this restaurant. However, each time I book a table through Open Table, we always have to wait. Quite often, patrons come in, without a reservation, and still get seated before us. Kind of annoying - why bother to make a reservation? Food is great!
Chicken marsala and sauteed spinach were both excellent and portions were huge.
Love this place!! The Rudys special with pepperoni added is our go to pizza. And the cookie skillet is to die for! If I could change one thing it would be that they served real Coke...not the knock off brand!
We're visiting Chicago & I knew I had to have deep dish pizza. After researching everything around us there was no better choice than Pizano's. Great pizza in a real pizzeria. I wish I lived close enough to be a regular.
Pizza was great. The sausage mix, not so much. We enjoyed the experience and the pizza was like nothing else. Deep dish is very good, and unique.
We stopped in with family for good pizza and pasta this past Saturday evening. I had the Seafood Marinara and it was delicious and reasonably priced. Just the right amount of spice (heat) and a generous amount of calamari. The linguini was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend it to others and look forward to eating there again.
Thought the pizza was excellent! Server was prompt and was conscientious when half of us ordered pizza and the other half didn't--he asked if we wanted everything together (we chose separate). It was not too busy when we got there on a freezing cold Friday night. Lived up to its reputation!
We really liked the pizzas. We ordered a Deep Dish Rudy's Special and Chicken BBQ Thin Crust pizza. Our waiter, Jesse, provided excellent service. He was very cheerful and personable. We definitely recommend both Pizano's Pizza and Jesse.
Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the Calamari appetizer and both the thin and deep dish pizzas.
Great afternoon lunch on NYE. Enjoyed the pizza. Only downfall was we ordered the fried ravioli. I asked for a to go box for the pizza. The waiter placed the marinara sauce cup for the ravioli in the to go bag for the pizza without a lid on the sauce. Needless to say there was sauce all over the pizza box. I am still trying to figure out why he would do that....
Ill be back! Love this place and the pizza is great.
It is busy and there is a wait for a reason! It's really good! Our server was very busy but we never felt neglected. If you know you are going here, you can pre order your pizza. We had our pizza within 10 minutes of being seated.
We sat at the bar, great service even better food. Not a bad martini either!
Good pizza and toppings! Thin crust has no yeast and is maybe a bit oily but it had a nice crunch. Good flavors overall! Cute Italian ambiance.
Great spot for Chicago pizza - - delicious Caesar salad and deep dish pizza. Outstanding service too!
Our Open Table reservation was honored promptly. We had a great out of the way table that worked great for our stroller and need for a high chair. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. The butternut squash ravioli was delicious as well as the thin crust pizza. Bathrooms could have been cleaner, but overall, in a busy holiday week night, Pizano's filled the bill!
I understand that there are always problems in the kitchen and they can't be helped. But when I ordered the ravioli dinner and they brought me toasted ravioli after the rest of my family had eaten and tried to tell me that it was the right entree I decided that I wouldn't ever be going back. They finally brought me the right dish but it was cold, bland and tasteless.
An authentic Chicago pizza experience. Plan for the experience and give it due time. The deep dish pizza takes 45 minutes, but is worth the wait. Make a reservation in advance and ask to sit in The Chach's section. He is a character and makes you feel welcome. The pizza is good but The Chach made it an experience our girls will remember for ever.
We had a horrible experience there before but decided to give them another shot. To be honest we did inform the waitress of a previous experience so perhaps she went overboard to be nice but we had a much better experience this time. She even brought a manager over to meet us and he was much better than the manager we met last time! He sent a free dessert and we appreciated that. The food is still very good and I will say this improves my opinion of them a bit. I don't know that I'll be a regular there, but I think I'll be willing to try it again... if somebody else suggests it.
Chaci is a great waiter
Crowded, noisy, long wait even with a reservation. But the food was good.
LOVE Pizano's pizza and chopped salad. Great, affordable place to go with a group.
Touristy. Good food. Good pizza, nothing too much nor life changer. Service slow, indifferent and average.
I assume that the rest of their food is great, too, but their pizza's so great I'll probably never know.
Enjoy coming here; good food, excellent service, friendly staff !
Made reservations and got in within 5 minutes of our res. Had good service and great food.
Spilled wine and they were at the table immediately cleaning it up and putting on new table coverings.
we would recommend it to everyone.
Love Pizano's. Rudy is the man!
This is the one place we always go when visiting Chicago! Best pizza and pasta!
Had six thirty reservations were a few minutes early and were seated proptly after a short wait . the places was packed but not overly loud. Our server Mary K wa helpful, our food came in a flash, barely had timeto eat our salads and our entrees wrer being served.Didn't feel like we were being rushed. It was my wifes birthday and we shared a cookie desert. The food was very good ,the prices were about what we would pay around home for good italian food. A great find for future trips to Chicago.
Great restaurant we come every year the Saturday after thanksgiving food and service are phenomenal
Pizza crust was so hard you couldn't bite into the pizza.
Was there for thanksgiving as we have done the previous 5 years. We were rushed and when we ordered dessert we were told they aren't going to serve dessert today it's too busy. Great food but a miss on the service.
I think I'd last been here in like 1997 in high school! We came on a whim before going to Orchestra Hall, and boy were we in for a treat because we met The Chach! Look him up online, you'll see what a wild guy he is! He is one of those singular crowd-pleasing, genuinely nice servers that tries to connect with you in the time you are dining. It was cool to meet him and I hope it's not the last! Oh and the food was pretty good too... Big pasta portions. :-)
We were in Chicago for a conference and had Pizano's suggested by a family friend. It did not disappoint and it was the best deep dish pizza we've ever had!
We made a reservation using OpenTable for 6 people on a Saturday evening. We noticed about 20 people waiting for tables when we walked in. Assumed there would be a short wait to get a table ready, but the hostess said they were waiting for us, and sat us down immediately. It was awesome.
Had craft beer, wine, deep dish and thin crust pizza. Wonderful as always. Our waiter was great.
Have wanted to go to Pizano's for ages--always crowded and I didn't have reservations. So I made a reservation! just as awesome as I had hoped.
Great food great service great value. Authentic Chicago Italian.
