Asian waiter threw the check on our table after we told her the original check was incorrect. Food was not that good and wasn’t worth price.
Pig and Khao is a great value for the LES and some of the better food I've had in the area. A must for any hip-hop fan, too, as the shop seems to pride itself on the music selection.
Staff were horrible. Very rude, pretentious, made it like they’re doing you a favor. I had a woman employee who wasn’t even my waitress bash me in the shoulder with a plate and for a second time knock my purse down on the floor. I understand people accidentally bash into each other but sorry would’ve gone a long way. You need to hire nice pleasant people here who appreciate their customers and not treat them like trash.
Every dish was amazing
Great food. Good service. My favorite special occasion dinner spot in the Lower East Side.
Always a great time here!! Drinks are fantastic, food is always on point, and service is dope. love, Love, LOVE!!
Excellent food, the atmosphere is really cool and price is very reasonable but I was a little upset with the service which may have just been my server,I would definitely go back again.
Great restaurant with amazing food!! They were blaring rap music, so definitely more of a younger crowd spot. Highly recommend
Great food - loved the whole fish, octopus and halo halo! Just music very loud
best brussel sprouts in all of NYC. Steak was awesome and love that coconut rice!! yum yum yum
Food is out of this world! Love this place.
Food, service and loud rap music - fabulous.
Focal green wall w drywall chunks scraped out from chairs- just looks so bad and that the attention to detail lacking.
Staff used to wear their own clothes - cool street style, now they wear sad branded tees. Womp womp.
Great food, good atmosphere
Pig and Khao never disappoints. Everything was amazing.
Best duck dish I have ever had
Unpleasantly spicy food (by the standards of this reviewer who was all but raised on Coromandel coastal chillies of the Coromandel coast), with a lot of grease and salt ; reception staff very courteous (five stars, no doubt); wait staff came in shades of indifference (two stars) to belligerence (zero stars). Once this restaurant delighted me but no more, alas.
The last time I was here, Benny (lead troublemaker) told me that I HAD to try dinner there. I was hesitant because brunch at Pig & Khao is what dreams are made of...but I dutifully listened, and was not disappointed. First we started with chicharrones. It was paired with a fruity light vinegar. Yum. Then the coconut rice, mushroom salad, pork belly, and shrimp. Words can’t do these dishes justice. The flavors make your tongue dance. There’s a beautiful balance of fat, acid and spice. We should have stopped here...but the octopus was calling my name, while the ribs screamed for my friend. The octopus had a sauce over it that had hints or lime, garlic and chili. The ribs had this thick, sweet and salty sauce that made you happy to lick your fingers. It was at this point my friend and I admitted defeat...but This amazing staff insisted we try a shaved ice with ube ice cream treat. Josh said the name means ‘mix it up’ and as full as we were we mixed and inhaled dessert.
As For the ambience...the music is amazing. We were singing, dancing, and laughing the entire night. I’m going to continue to bring business guests, family, friends...anyone I like.
This place is incredible. The food it out of this world, cocktails are so tasty and the music/vibe is on another level!
Meeting with old friends. Amazing food and service.
Good tasty Asian fusion food. But be warned that Many dishes are deep fried. Restaurant can be noisy with thumping music and diners chatting
The food was good. Wouldn't describe it as mind blowing but the dishes we had were pretty good and I would recommend this restaurant. We stuck with a few small plates since we weren't very hungry and it filled us up. We most enjoyed the chili pan mee and sisig. And the coffee with the condensed milk on the bottm was delicious. one side note; we went here to catch up with some friends but know this going in you will not have a conversation with anyone here where you are not yelling at one another. The music was turned up and loud in the front room. I was told that it is better in the back but i wouldn't know. Small quibble but if you are looking for a peaceful leisurely meal.
All time favorite restaurant in New York. Ordered extra coconut rice to take home because it's so amazing.
Great ambiance, loud fun music and crowd!
The food is great and different, but I think that it is way over priced.
Good. Food was great. Ask waiter for recommendations
Excellent food and hip hop music. Decor and service need work but overall the food wins over everything
Did the tasting menu on a Sunday night and enjoyed every moment. The wait team will work with you on any specific requests and the dishes were so varied and so delicious. Thank you for a great meal!
I love this place! I always come here with my best friend- we took one of our visiting friends and it must have been an off day. The sauce served with the powdered donuts was watery and much less “ghostbuster green” than usual. The staff was a mixed bag that day. I will still return because it is hands down some of the best food you can get in the city- but I was a little disappointed on that particular day. Our refills of mimosa were random pitcher refills from other tables- I am not picky and was okay with it- but I feel like others who may be making a reservation should know that this is a “laid back” kind of place.
I have always loved this place so I was upset to show up and find out the restaurant has a C health rating. Won't be going back until they get that under control
Awesome bottomless brunch and amazing food. I’ve been thinking about it for the last 2 days!!
Decided to come here since my friend was visiting from out of town and suggested it. I’ve heard good things about it so it’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to go. We got the Chef tasting menu for the both of us and it was pretty slamming. If you get one thing here the Sizzling Sisig is a must have!
Nice little place with unpretentious vibe and food. Service is really great and suggestions are made based on what you tell your waiter/waitress. Music is prominent but if you love the urban/hip hop/gangstarap sound, like I do, it’s actually a plus. Overall: great spot for a good meal in the LES and there’s a really good cocktail bar right across the street.
The food here is fantastic! However, the rap music was deafening. I’d recommend Pig and Khao to foodies that can handle the noise level.
Amazing food!! Highly recommend the chili pan me and the coconut rice is a must. I mean must.
Good food, (Filipino) fair NYC prices, efficient and accommodating service (but not especially friendly). More a Gen X hipster scene; don't expect smiling languid Filipino hospitality. We were a party of six and we were well-treated. Sisig, prawns, ribs, crispy pata all good. Halo-halo excellent. Why no San Miguel?
This was our second visit - tasty, imaginative dishes. Reasonably priced and generous portions. All was delicious.
Service was exceptional - super charming and attentive.
Loved everything especially the coffee , the only thing I would maybe not order again is the French toast but everything else is a go.... food comes out as it’s ready so great for sharing , great ambiance and overall affordable
Pig & Khao was amazing! Booked for a busy Saturday night and was blown away that we were seated right on time. Service was great, food came out quickly and the flavor combos were amazing!!! Ambience and music were very cool as well.
Food and service were good! A little bit overpriced and the music was too loud!
Everything was great, we had the chef's choice per usual and everything was amazing. Drinks were great, service amazing but the temperature was hot. Next time I’ll request to set away from the kitchen. Other then that it was a great night out.
