This is our go-to place. The food never disappoints, with a beautiful menu selection as well as specials that are delicious. It sometimes can get a bit noisy, but I suppose that is because people are having a great time. This is one restaurant to visit- you won't be dissapointed.
Excellent menu. Loved the flat bread appetizer and the deconstructed banana cream pie!! The best.
I have always enjoyed dining at this neighborhood restaurant: good food, good service. Now with the new menu it is even better! So hard to find a restaurant that serves excellent food and where you can still have a conversation!
Excellent food and service!
Very pleasant dinner, very nice food and great service.
Went for Mother’s Day dinner with my wife, daughter, and granddaughter. Piccolo Mondo had their regular menu, plus a few specials. The only thing they did differently for Mother’s Day was to open early so that more people could be accommodated.
I especially enjoyed the lamb “lollipops” - more than enough for an appetizer, done to perfection, and presented beautifully with a fabulous fruit relish. I also tasted my wife’s fried calamari, tender and crisp, with two different dipping sauces. I had the papardelle bolognese as a main course and loved it. The pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly. For dessert, the homemade cheesecake was a unanimous choice.
Always love it here, and Roland was the perfect host for this special occasion.
Don't be scared of the location of this place. Looks are decieving. The strip mall in which Piccolo Mondo is located is not exactly pleasing to the eye, but the restaurant itself is truly a gem amidst the rocks. The wait staff is excellent and friendly, taking care of all needs without having to ask. The food is magnificent with many choices. It truly brings a little peice of Italy to the area. The music is also wonderful with classical and Italian music playing at a comfortable volume. The only thing I would change would be the appearance on the outside of the restaurant. It's a bit hard to find and the strip mall can seem "sketchy". Overall 9.5 out of 10
I recommend steamed muscles. The best muscels I ever had. Healthy portions, good food.
I've been going to Piccolo Mondo since they opened.
Roland runs a very tight ship and is always present.
The new Chef is turning out some great dishes - especially the fresh fish dishes - so hard to find perfectly cooked fish at area restaurants.
Very good cuisine , presemtation and service. Well recommended.
My husband & I went for Restaurant Week. We got a good price on our 3- course meal and we enjoyed the half price Thursday deal on a nice bottle of wine. As always, the food , service, and ambiance was to our liking.
Great food and service!
New Chef and new menu. I liked the old menu better but was still satisfied. Needs more variety of food - too much shellfish meals.
Slightly salty branzino with clams/oysters
Im looking forward to going back
We have been regulars at Piccolo Mondo since it opened in 2005. The food is consistently outstanding, the service friendly, and atmosphere nice but not stuffy. The new chef has brought a fresh vibe to the restaurant. Although we might miss some of our old favorites like Chicken Piccolo Mondo, the new menu is great and everything we have tried is equally as delicious as before, maybe better! Owner Roland and the staff always provide warm welcomes with smiles on their faces. Bonus points for Chef Del Lima who came to our table to reassure our daughter that she did not to be concerned about her food allergy!
Been here a few times and the food is consistently really good. Definitely recommend!
Excellent meal as always! Our favorite restaurant. Not a quiet place but that's how we like it since we usually go with friends and have lots of laughs and good conversation.
This was our first time eating here
And all four of us were very impressed.
The food was exceptional. I picked the place and was nervous because two of our group are foodies and eat out often.
My only complaint was they didn’t pace our meal properly, we were still eating the pasta course and they brought out main courses.
Other than that everything else was superior.
We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.
With a new chef and a new menu, Roland and team have found a way to improve on excellence. This has been our go to place through the years (20 this year). They have a very loyal following, of which we are proud to be a part. We recommend Piccolo Mondo for everyone who has not tried it, and for those who have not been there in a while .... Excellent!
Have been coming here for years. Consistent excellent menu and specials. Owner always checking to see how you are doing. Easter and table centerpiece was Easter bread and colored eggs. Nice touch. Music was too loud though.
Hadn’t been to piccolo Mondo in a while , it did not disappoint, food was fresh and tasty service was attentive. Overall a really nice experience !!
Always great, food and atmosphere. A very consistent, lovely stafg
Thanks for fitting us in despite confusion with Open Table reservation - always a pleasure
We’ve been going to Piccolo Mondo for years, and always enjoyed it. Roland is a wonderful host, and the food has always been great, as well as a good value. They recently welcomed a new chef and unveiled a totally revamped menu, and it is truly a step up for this already excellent dinner spot.
I started with Caesar salad - the dressing was authentic and well balanced, and the baby kale made for a perfect complement to the romaine lettuce. My main course was a fabulous combination of grilled shrimp and risotto. There were 4 large and tender shrimp with a subtle but unmistakable taste of the grill. The risotto had just the right texture and was generously flavored with mushrooms and a hint of tender-crisp pancetta. Dessert was homemade cheesecake that was so good we had to order a second serving to share. To top off the experience, their Thursday night 50% off special allowed us to enjoy a bottle of Vino Nobile with the meal.
Despite the elegant new menu, Piccolo Mondo remains a great value. Our bill for 4 people - three courses with wine - was still under $200. Well done, Roland!
Nice place to gather with close friends in not a very loud place. Good food.
My 50th Birthday Dinner Celebration with friends was outstanding. The owner and staff are always welcoming and attentive. The food is delicious. The ambience is inviting and noise level perfect for being able to have some lively conversation without having to shout at each-other. Also, my son has many good allergies and Piccolo Mondo is always accommodating and able to cook for him which gives me a nice break!! I highly recommend!
Food was good but took a long time to be served. Waitress said that they were down a cook today. But we were only patrons until after we were served. Took about 40 minutes after our seating time to start eating. First order of bread was burned and hard. Second bread was good. We come here frequently and this is the first time we had a problem.
Our fourth or fifth visit to Piccolo Mondo will keep us coming back. The daily soup was probably the best soup I ever had anywhere. My usual entree, the flounder was excellent. Overall, an excellent dining experience.
Owner and staff so friendly ! Food delicious
We love Piccolo Mondo- it is our “go to” restaurant, where the food is consistently good, the service is great and the ambiance is warm and friendly. We can chat at dinner and hear ourselves!
The owner always personally greets the guests which is a nice touch!
Food was very good and service was good. Pretty noisy but not a problem for socializing.
Food was delicious. A hidden gem. Our server Luigi was awesome!!
This restaurant consistently serves excellent food in a nice atmosphere. The owner is very nice and attentive. Drinks are fantastic and menu selection very good.
The food here is so good. Will return often. The chef here is amazing and the service is wonderful.
Really enjoyed the freshness of flavors . The grilled octopus was excellent, as was the Skirt Steak, Sole Florentine and especially the wine specials. Warm atmosphere and friendly service all will bring us back.
The specials are what we live for here. We always feel welcomed in this unassuming culinary paradise where the staff are over accommodating and a pleasure to be around. Kudos to the chef As a particularly discerning diner, Piccolo is amongst a tiny handful of restaurants that has never disappointed. Keep it up - you’re local and awesome.
Excellent. Waiter had wonderful suggestions. Food was phenomenal.
Hidden gem....always consistent and great specials.
