A Sicilian by way of Chicago, from a family of Sicilian chefs and restaurateurs. He made a name for himself, serving Orange County for 30 years. Piccolino serves some of the best Italian inspirations in Orange County. Piccolino retains its Sicilian philosophy and passion for food by combining traditional old-world flavors and contemporary infusions. When Salvatore Faso opened Piccolino Ristorante in 2007, his goal was simple: to combine his lifelong experiences in the finest Italian restaurants with the finest ingredients, authenticity, preparation, and his passion for the Canyon and its surrounding communities. Piccolino Ristorante serves regional Italian cuisine, including artisan-made pasta, fresh wild-caught fish, and the finest meats and poultry on the market daily. Vintage décor, white tablecloths, and candlelit tables provide a romantic dining experience.

The area was very noisy and we were unable to to have a comfortable conversation. One of guest had to return his drink and the other guest questioned why the 9 oz glass of wine was exactly the same amount as the 6 oz glass. Both glasses were the same size and shape and the level of wine was exactly the same. The waiter disputed our complaint and brought back carafe that the wines were poured from, claiming that the carafe were different sizes. However the point is that 9oz amount should have been at least half again as much as the 6oz glass.

First time dining here and had been recommended the restaurant. We enjoyed the experience and will return . My halibut dish was delicious !

Originally set res late Sat night for 8:15p Sun on the Piccolino site but saw they closed at 8:30 on Sundays - updated via OpenTable site to 6:30 for Father's Day dinner with some family visiting from out of state. Nice table outside, service was great. Server told us they were a real Italian restaurant and if we didn't see something on the menu they'd make it - so I ordered Cacio e Pepe and it was legit. Great with all the dietary restrictions from some of the older parents (GF, dairy, potassium)...most plates were cleaned. We managed to stay beyond closing and there was no rush from anyone to get out while we enjoyed espressos, cappuccinos and some deserts (recommend the "daily chocolate" option). Found out the owners are from Chicago (where much of the visiting family is from) so chatted with the owner's son who was helping bus tables how they had the Chicago vibe vs LA snooty... Can't believe I've lived within 10 minutes of this joint since they opened and this was our first visit - definitely won't be the last!

Been here 5 or 6 times always an enjoyable experience, The restaurant is set up like old time Italian place . Nice ambience, waiters mostly men all wear ties. They are very well acquainted with the menu and specials. Drinks are very good. Plenty of parking. Hard to find a better all around Italian restaurant!

The gnocchi was amazing, sat in the bar - which was empty - and had great service. The food was delicious and great value. Definitely recommend.

We dine at Piccolino's very often; it is our favorite Italian restaurant. We were celebrating our 42nd Anniversary and were joined by our son and daughter-in-law from Denver. We were seated on the patio and were presented with glasses of Prosecco, which we thought was a very nice gesture. We shared appetizers and all ordered different entrees, and we all enjoyed our meals. We ordered the Cannolis for dessert, and were also presented with Tiramisu for our anniversary. Overall a lovely evening of celebration. Thank you!

We had a fantastic lunch experience at Piccolino, very quiet and intimate. Service was great and same delicious quality food as dinner but basically a private dining experience. Highly recommend!

Piccolino is my go to restaurant for all occasions; solo meals, celebratory meals, hosting, and family. The food always delivers and the service is very attentive. The bar, dining room and patio are all equally as enjoyable depending on the occasion. The patio especially for the weather this time of the year, which is where I dined yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed it all - compliments!! We will be back.
