We are a first come first serve all day restaurant. Walk-ins of all party sizes are encouraged at any time!Our journey started on a quiet West Village street called Carmine. Two brothers, Dave and Pete, made a bold decision. Without any business experience, any real plan, or anything resembling a thought beyond getting through the day, we opened a restaurant. What we had lacked in experience we made up for with spirit and creativity. We did not want to be businessmen. We were artists. Our little shop at 33 Carmine St. was our original canvas. We set out with a simple mission: to create a place where people would want to be. We named it after our dogs, Moose and Goose Lane. Our Nolita location opened four years later in 2011.

    We were visiting the city and traveling with our dog, Barkley, and selected the Barking Dog Hell’s Kitchen based an YouTube reviews for dog friendly restaurants in NYC. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and attentive to our needs. Even Barkley received VIP treatment! Our salad and chicken entrees were served perfectly and tasted delicious. Barkley was served a meal from the dog menu and he loved it, too. It was such an amazing experience and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great meal. Barkley enjoyed his complimentary pup dessert!! Also, the general manager, Lucy, was so kind to assist us with getting an Uber ride back to our hotel. Travel in the city was rough that night because it was poring rain. We will be returning to the Barking Dog on our next trip to the city!

    We were able to bring our small dogs in a stroller with us to the restaurant! What a great benefit. Also the person at the wait stand realized that they had reserved a table up a flight of stairs which would have been difficult with the stroller so he switched it to a table in the front on the floor to accommodate us. The food and service were excellent. Thanks to the brilliant owners who understand pet lovers.
