The Food: The NY Strip with onion rings and the Grilled Swordfish were both cooked perfectly. The swordfish’s “apple stick salad” leaned more arugula than apple but was still tasty. We loved the loaded baked potato and the towering thick fries with flavorful dipping sauces was an interesting appetizer. The Brussels sprouts ($11) could feed four and were just okay, and the extra peppercorn sauce over the steak lacked expected flavor. A complimentary birthday cookie and half-scoop of ice cream was a sweet surprise, even though we’d already ordered a generous slice of moist (but seemingly carrot-less) carrot cake ($14). Good for Groups, Pricey for Two: It’s an à la carte menu built for sharing, so it adds up fast for just two people. We’d love to see some portion flexibility so couples can sample more without waste. If an item must be shared you'd better both like the choice. Ambiance: We were seated promptly at 7:30 PM on a Saturday in a comfy booth as requested. The space filled up quickly with a mix of clientele including families, but the unexpected DJ music was way too loud at first—thankfully it got turned down. We suggest a more balanced playlist to match the dining vibe - it's not a night club. Also, the three big TVs over the bar showing sports and off-road truck mud battles felt out of place for a nice dinner setting. Most tables could view screens but seemed uninterested, so save sports for happy hours. Shout out to our server, Taylor, was friendly and attentive all evening. Bottom Line: Mostly delicious food and nice cocktails and wines by the glass, plus a fun menu, but the scene seems better suited for groups. Next time, we’ll meet family and friends—and maybe request a private room (and a new playlist for the DJ booth!).More infoWillard Hicks - CampbellPrice: Expensive• American• Campbell•4.2
