For freshness and flavor you can't go wrong by aiming for a classic Mediterranean cuisine appreciated around the world. At the heart of a Mediterranean meal is fresh quality ingredients down to the olive. Pera chooses to take that aim, and where possible we will use local farms, as well as locally grown produce. In selecting our lamb and beef cuts we strive to make grass feeding top on the list.

Add to this Pera's offering of regional breads and desserts made in-house with a full array of compatible California wines, Greek, Turkish, and domestic beers. And finally top it all off with Turkish coffee.

The service is divine. Nothing beats a family run place. They really host you and make you feel welcome. That alone will have us back.

Coffee is legit Turkish style, which you don’t get much of in SF these days with all the third wave coffee available.

Food was pretty good. We had brunch and looking forward to what they do at dinner.

All in all a real gem.

Food wasn’t bad but wasn’t fantastic. People were really friendly through and about the only place in potrero where you can get a reservation for a larger group on sat night at a reasonable time.

I felt a little ambivalent after reading the few dissatisfied customer reviews. Was relieved to find our experience to the contrary. Excellent food, very fresh, well prepared. Good vegetarian options. Excellent service. Veyy warm, inviting ambience. Would definitely go back. Love the place!

Food is not fresh- olive tapenade was spoiled, salad and tomatoes wilted, lamb not seasoned, grape leaves mushy. Highlight was cheese lit on fire with dates. Service is excellent!
Will not return. Been two times and underwhelmed.

Made reservations for 16 people for NYE; 18 showed up. Despite being busy, the staff made it work for us. Obviously, a group that large is going to be challenging, with people being ready to order at different times, changing seats, special requests, etc. Regardless, the staff accommodated everyone. Very impressive.

We were looking for Mediterranean and this place was a great find to hit the mark. Staff were on top of everything, the meal flowed quickly and the decor and music were fitting. Scallop and zucchini appetizers, Greek salad, skirt steak and kebabs were all great! Unfortunately we didn't have room for desert.

Turkish dishes were very good, along with Greek salad. Enjoyed the restaurant but the neighborhood is not worth stopping in. Parked just around the corner I had my car window smashed out and laptop and cameras stolen while I ate. People sitting outside at another restaurant just 100ft or so from my car said they saw nothing but that it happens a few times a week.

I have lost count the number of times I have been to Pera. Why do i keep going back? the treat you like friends and family. The warmth that Metin, his brother Irfan, and their entire staff shower upon the dinners is rare in this day and age. The food is always delicious. If you are looking for the trendiest, new restaurant, don't go here. If you are looking for a place you can call home, where you will not feel rushed, where getting to know the employees is a plus, and where you are appreciated as a customer, please take a moment to stop by.

This was the worst experience. Upon arrival at 6:25pm for our dinner reservation of 6:30pm, we had to wait 5 minutes before they greeted us. Immediately, they told us we had to vacant our table by 8:00pm for another reservation. We were seated and had to wait 10 minutes before they took our drink orders. Then had to wait another 10 minutes before they took our order. We ordered three appetizers and only two came out. They said we never ordered a third appetizer. By 7:30pm, our dinner was served. The two pasta dishes were cool; not hot. My seafood dish was not warm either. At 7:50pm, they gave us our dinner bill and said we had 5 minutes to pay and leave.

Often I would give a restaurant a second chance, but I will not for this restaurant because they are rated poorly for service and food.

The food at Pera was fine. Nicely presented. The restaurant front door literally blows cold air on every diner along either wall every time it is opened. There is a partial wall in the center which would shield you from the wind, but nobody was seated there. It isn't warm enough in that part of the city any time of year to allow the draft to blow on you every time someone comes in or goes out. In fact there is outdoor seating in the front and the waitstaff is constantly going in and out. I was chilled from the beginning of my meal to the end. It was annoying and hard to focus on my meal. The waitstaff is very underdressed in my opinion. We don't need tuxedos here, but frankly a whitish undershirt and jeans hits a very wrong note.

Met for a business lunch and had an efficient and tasty meal. It is what you would expect for Mediterranean—simple and fresh; not over complicated with sauces or dressings.

For the neighborhood, it’s adds variety to the flavors available for a change of pace.

This was a good spot I found looking for new flavors. I liked that fact it wasn't a long wait and we "luckily" found easy parking. Take your time to find parking as it is a very limited area.

Food was great, fast service and delicious new flavors to try with my 9 year old foodie and my wife.

I would recommended if you are looking to challenge your paladar. Enjoy!
