   We only go there before a hockey game, and it's always full of Caps fans. Better to make a reservation on game nights, it gets very crowded. Food is always excellent. Service is always good, especially considering how crowded it is on game night. We usually order 2 drinks each as soon as we sit down, because it can take awhile.

   Went to Penn Commons before a Capitals game. Had a reservation which I reccomend. The service was quick and friendly. Menu variety is better than most bar food. We had both of the burgers and the shrimp and grits in our group. Everyone loved their meal. Super impressive how they served the large crowd with plenty of time for us to get to the game and get through security. Would go again.

   Penn Commons is the best for everything - brunch, dinner, happy hour! The food and drinks are excellent! The service is great. Best Cosmo in town. Love the steak, “chicken and cakes”, pretzel baguette, and the best ranch dressing!

   I really like this restaurant! We've eaten here twice in the last month, usually before the basketball game since it's so close to the Capital One Arena. I would recommend this place especially during some college football if you like that atmosphere. We ended up coming during the Georgia Bulldogs game and it was PACKED and LIVELY, but service was not impacted. I would say MAKE A RESERVATION when coming and you will be taken care of....I will continue to come to this restaurant!

   First time here. Food was excellent. I had the brisket sandwich and fries. Fries were very good. Highly recommend this place!

   I would love to give a better review but our service was absolutely horrible. I was a waitress for 7 years and have always been a generous tipper and this is the first time I didn’t leave a tip ever. The waitress forgot to put in my husband order but kept saying it was coming. No apology no nothing. When the rest of our party FINISHED their meals I had to walk up to her and ask her and she rudely responded that it’s coming. After that, his meal was delivered by another member of staff. We were offered any water refills or drinks and the only time we saw her was when she delivered the check. Once again not even an “I’m sorry.” It’s a shame because the food and cocktails were really great. Even when a believe a manager was close by I asked for refills on our drinks and water and said that we hadn’t been checked on by our waitress, did she even say anything.

   What a value for DC! Tiny [pod-like] room but all we needed for an overnight. Has all the expected amenities, including a white noise machine. Will definitely visit again.

   We arrived at 630 for our reservation and seated right away. It took the waitress a while to come over so we ordered our appetizer and meal at the same time to be sure we would get out in time for our 8pm show. After waiting 45 and nothing to eat my husband went and to find the manager to complain. She asked where we were seated and would check on our food 10 minutes later she came by nearby tables but didn't even look in our direction. As we were leaving after an hour and 15 mins the waitress brought out our appetizer. When my husband was talking to the manager he had mentioned we had a reservation her response was so did everyone else that was there. If the kitchen couldn't handle the amount of people then I would prefer to have been told that up front and have had the option to find another restaurant rather than not have dinner at all.

   Unfortunately, we never ate any food! After waiting an hour we had to leave for a concert! The good news was that our waitress told us the drinks were on the house! We will go back and try the food. We made the best of the situation (grabbed McDonald's). We made it to the concert just as it started.

    Came here before a caps game on Saturday. I’ve had better experiences here. They were crowded but the service was extremely slow and took a long time to get anything. Food was fine but I have had better on other occasions. I would still come back here because it’s a great location but would hope it is a better experience.
