Everything was outstanding! Truly a fine dining experience not to be missed!
Unfortunately not as welcoming as my last visit. Host was pretty unfriendly and made us wait a bit for no apparent reason. Food was good, but definitely not up to the last visit.
We enjoyed a lovely evening at Peninsula Grill. Delia was our server and she helped to make our dining experience perfect. We dined there regularly before the pandemic, so it has been over a year since our last visit, and Delia still remembered us! She’s a true asset to your team.
Attentive service, excellent sommelier advice, and a few spectacular dishes (the tartar and filet were particularly notable). Other dishes (scallops, escargot, coconut cake) were just ok. A nice experience to be sure, but I frankly expected more given the restaurant’s reputation.
Nice setting, excellent service. I had a terrific salad, but my grouper was rather flavorless. I was a bit disappointed, but would give it another try.
Fine and elegant dining. A place you want to be for special occasions and simply an elegant night out.
Filet ordered medium well and verbally told the server should be pink...NO red. The meat was medium rare and that opinion was shared by everyone at the table. The server tried to convince me it was really pink. Sent most of it back uneaten. The asparagus was very good. The goat-cheese potatoes mediocre. Pretty restaurant but very expensive and we are accustomed to paying high prices for dinner. The manager tried to make it up to us with a free dessert but dinner was ruined so not interested in dessert.
I had heard incredible things about Peninsula Grill and had to try it for myself. I was not disappointed! We each ordered a different menu item for each course and I am not able to tell you whose was better because everything I tasted was amazing. Each course melted in my mouth. The service was impeccable with wonderful suggestions on wine pairing and attention to details. I am definitely going back the next time I'm in Charleston.
Outstanding! Make this your one special place to dine.
The food was excellent. The service received was above average but they were severely understaffed. It took 2.75 hours to eat two courses.
We come here whenever we come to Charleston. The food is always wonderful and the service outstanding. They are known for their coconut cake but ever dessert has been excellent. Their sommelier is very knowledgeable.
Outstanding food and excellent service from waiter. Difficult to get the right table at first and waited to be seated. Surprising for a Relais&Chateaux. Service after that initial hiccup was very good. Would definitely recommend it
Expensive and worth it for discriminating tastes.
Absolutely the best dinner and service ever.... anywhere
Beautiful exterior and interior with OUTSTANDING service and food.
Highly recommend this for an elegant dinner date.
Outstanding experience from beginning to end! Elegant atmosphere, impeccable service, and incredible food. Expensive but worth every cent.
Outstanding food and service. Loved the bar. Will return!
It was a great experience! Service was impeccable and we’ll return next time in Charleston.
The food and service was amazing along with that carrot cake to end the night.
As our first visit to Charleston we wanted to end our trip with an amazing dinner experience and I am so glad that we chose this place!! The food was delicious and the service was great and very attentive.
Simply the best!
Our favorite white table dining location is no longer what we had come to enjoy. Food was marginal, cooked incorrectly, the sauces didn't even taste correct and it seems any sense of value was seemingly gone with price increases beyond reasonablty. The staff was all new with no sign of the former friendly service-conscious servers that once roamed the room. All in all, I'm afraid the pandemic has damaged one of the finest restaurants in Charleston.
Everything was great food recommend ations wine suggestions waiter owner was better than Halls
Excellent food and service as always
From start to finish it was an outstanding dinner. Four of us with different dining and food experience could not have been more pleased with the food. And the service was impeccable. If you find yourself in Charleston, this is a restaurant not to be missed. Try to sit in their Courtyard. It was enchanting.
Service was outstanding befitting an extraordinary dining experience. All of the food was wonderful and cooked according to specifications. The staff was friendly, professional and attentive. As with the entire meal the coconut cake more than lived up to expectations. This restaurant can hold its own with the finest in the country.
Food is delicious abd service is excellent! Beautiful restaurant with terrific ambience
Can’t wait to go back!
Simply amazing! My husband and I were spending our babymoon in Charleston and decided to finish out the trip here. Everything from the ambiance, to the service, and the food was impeccable. Delia was very knowledgeable about the menu and could truly describe each dish so perfectly. The entire staff worked together flawlessly to make sure all your needs were met but in a way you didn't feel smothered. We started our meal each with the wedge salad that was full of flavor, then I had the salmon and my husband the strip...just WOW! The entrees were cooked to perfection and the flavors were incredible, including the goat cheese smashed potatoes...to die for. We finished the perfect meal with their signature coconut cake and it lived up to the hype. My husband said the cocktails were amazing as well. We've eaten at some incredible places and I have to say this tops the list and made the ending of a memorable trip absolute perfection.
Filet was delicious, but it was just slightly over-cooked, & way over-salted, so it reduces the overall score to just “fair” (had so much potential). Disappointed with the steak, but service was impeccable (Eddie) and ambiance was delightful (jacket required for gentlemen).
Service was horrible! Very rushed and could have cared less we were there. We have dined her numerous time but not for a couple of years. I will never go back!
We love Peninsula and it’s our go-to when friends and family visit from out of town. The service is ALWAYS outstanding and the food NEVER disappoints. Soft shells were in season and were prepared and presented beautifully. From our drinks to our entrees - the Peninsula is a wonderful experience.
Great food, but dinner took about 2 hours for 3 courses. Would highly recommend if not pressed for time.
The food and service is not as good as it used to be
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service and delicious meal.
Good, but not the exceptional service I’ve been used to over the years. The food took quite a long time to arrive, with no explanation. Water went empty several times. No apologies offered for several minor issues, from the maître d’ to the waiter. We had hoped to sit outside, but the policy on outside reservations has changed; this is completely understandable, but there could have been more empathy around our disappointment. This needs to be more clearly identified on the website and listed as a clear option when making the online reservation. Both were the maître d’ and waiter were pleasant and kind, but there’s a definite reduction in classy service over the past year. Great food and wonderful wine, but overall a disappointment compared to the standard level of service. We’ll certainly return, but it won’t be at the top of the list, as it has been for many years. A fine restaurant, just not the one we remembered.
Magnificent restaurant!! Great food, atmosphere and serve.
Our 50th wedding anniversary dinner. We were treated to VIP status. Everyone was wonderful and the food was amazing!!
The food was great. The restaurant is elegant
Favorite restaurant. Come back every year. Love it.
