We had the most delicious meal at Peche on our New Orleans vacation about 3 weeks ago. The best fish we've ever (baked drum fish) had and best Key Lime pie! But more importantly, our server, Heather, was beyond amazing! She recommended dishes based on what we like to eat and she was so attentive and really just an above and beyond server. Her professionalism was memorable and of course, she was personable and charming. We loved loved loved the experience at Peche!
This was our second time at Peche and it was even better than the first time! We live in Wisconsin but make it a point to visit Peche when we are down in New Orleans. The shrimp roll is absolutely amazing and the seafood platter did not disappoint! We will be back for certain!
The food was really amazing and the service was very attentive. I can't wait to return!
One of the biggest disappointments in a long time. Chef put so much salt into some of the dishes that they needed to be sent back to the kitchen. They failed to remove charges for failed dishes from final bill.
Food was excellent. Interesting choices and great selections. The ambiance was very hip.
The best steak tartare I've ever had. The whole fish was fresh and the brussels sprouts excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant
Second visit, second awesome experience. Only complaint is the noise level. Difficult to have conversations.
The Service was the stand out. The Music was too loud
When you walk in to the restaurant 2 James Beard Awards look down on you from behind the bar. One is hard enough to get but two is a rarity. I my option they themselves are setting the standard very high in all aspects. The dinner was very rushed by our server and gave of the vide the it was the end of a long night and we want to leave. The food was rush and was lacking finesse and looked as if it was cooked by a first year culinary student. Items were overcooked and were dried out. I would expect a whole lot more form a restaurant of this caliber.
The smoked tuna appetizer and the whole grilled fish. Those two will always be winners in my book. It was a great meal.
First of all, I personally enjoyed the food very much. My girlfriend wasn't as much a fan. She wasn't a fan of the fried bread or the tuna because she felt it was too salty. We both agreed the salad was excellent and the dessert was terrific. The service was the main issue here. I am not a fan of an overbearing waiter. But, this waiter was pretty much absent for most of the meal. We ran out of drinks a few times. Our waiter also brought the check without asking if we wanted anything else. This was BEFORE we ordered dessert. He then did the same thing AGAIN. A HUGE no-no. Now, if this was a meal at Chili's or some place like that, I would have expected as much, but for the amount I paid for this meal, I expect much better service. I am not a resident of New Orleans, but I am from the area and visit often. I will not return here.
We ate there for dinner. Eating tappas style, we ordered several small meals and appetizers. For the most part, the food was good. However, not a fan of the "seafood gumbo." Peche's primary focus is on oysters. As such, that is the primary focus of the gumbo. I would have expected more "gumbo" and less oyster flavor. Other than that - the food was good.
We absolutely love Peche! It is on our regular rotation. Everything we've had has been fresh and delicious. Our most recent meal consisted of raw oysters (always so fresh and clean), smoked tuna dip (great flavor), mixed greens salad (bright and light), and the ribeye (amazing rub and quite tender). Although they are mainly known for their seafood, I feel the ribeye at Peche is one of the best in town.
There was however one thing I was not thrilled with during our most recent dining experience. Once we'd finished our meal, I decided it would be nice to have some soup to bring for lunch the next day. So, I asked the waitress if I could order a cup of soup to go. She explained that they do not do "to go" orders. I then asked if I could order the soup, have it brought to the table, and then get a container to take it home. The waitress told me she would be happy to do this, but she was not able to since the restaurant does not have containers for the soup. Having worked in the service industry in college, I understand restaurants deciding not to do to-go orders. However, generally that simply means people cannot call-in and place an order to pick up. That is a restaurant's choice, and that does not bother me. However, I have never been told a restaurant that serves an item does not have a container you can take it away in. So, if I did order soup during the course of my meal... then decided that I was too full to finish the soup (but wanted to bring it with me), I could not get a container to bring it home in after dining at Peche? Since the waitress boxed up the rest of the steak for us with no problem, I simply do not get why they do not have proper containers to carry soup out in...
Food and service was excellent.
Front of house needs some attention.
Curtains are very dirty. Table rocked and was not level.
Bathroom needs some attention, as well.
While the food is very good, the wait staff needs some training. The meal started off great but quickly fell back after we waited about an hour to receive our entree. We inquired about the long wait and the waitress told us, "This is New Orleans on a Friday night" with much attitude. When our food did appear a few minutes later, it was cold. Obviously it was sitting in the back. The waitress told us it wasn't her fault, never an apology, just condesending attitude. We asked for the manager and he was very professional, assessed the situation and gave us free drinks. I have dined at Peche before and totally enjoyed it. However, with all the marvelous restaurants available in New Orleans on a Friday night with great service, I am not sure I would dine at Peche again except for the great way the manager saved the evening.
I'm a regular.....food is always magically delicious and service is great!!
Great waitstaff, tasty (spicy!) food. The best dessert (magic cake) we've ever eaten! We had a wonderful experience.
Would absolutely recommend Peche. Everything we ordered was very good and original. Foods and taste unlike any other restaurant we've been to lately.
Great experience! Loved the whole fish! Sides and apps were awesome too.
Great seafood but don't overlook the tartare. It's one of the best in the city -
Peche is always amazing! My go to place for the most delicious preparation and presentation of our wonderful Gulf seafood. Staff is great and cocktails are yummy!
This is one of the best restaurants in New Orleans.
We have tried for a long time to get a reservation here, but it just never worked out for one reason or another. Waiting so long to finally get in was worth the wait. Everything was absolutely perfect! The restaurant looks like an upscale version of a fishing camp, with fish murals on the walls, concrete floors and white-washed furnishings. The wait staff was excellent, knowing the menu and daily specials well enough to make intelligent suggestions and drink (wine, cava, beer or hand crafted cocktails) pairings. Now the food. Fresh local fish is the centerpiece of the menu. From appetizers to entrees anything you want is available and prepared to perfection. Highlights of our meal included the smoked tuna dip and whole redfish served with a salsa verde. We had the rum cake with dulce de leche ice cream which was fantastic. I can't express how great the whole dining experience was, but I can tell you to go to Peche as soon as possible. You won't be disappointed. Thank me later.
The food was amazing, it was being treated like a second-class citizen by the wait staff that will keep me from returning. Such a shame- beautiful menu, awful service.
The food is amazing! I always get the fish of the day. Delish! I wish I could say the service is as good as the food. It's less than average which is disappointing because the food is so amazing. The restaurant is always warm almost uncomfortable. There is absolutely no way you can sit at the bar for more than 20-30 mins for a drink. You will be sweating otherwise. The air conditioning and ventilation system needs serious service!
The baked chicken had way too much red pepper for me. Tha fried catfish small plate was the best fish st our table of four.
We went for lunch and really enjoyed what we ordered. Everything was super tasty and well prepared. The atmosphere was great! I would definitely go back! The cocktail menu looked great eat so would like to try some of those next time. Oysters were amazing!
Great food as usual. Perfect portion sizes that are delicious. Fresh seafood and unique flavor combinations. Kid friendly.
Awesome. A word I rarely use. The smoked drum salad was a delightful surprise for lunch. This is now one of my favorite New Orleans restaurant.
The whole fish is fabulous - hard for me to choose anything else as it's so great
The whole fish is perfection on a plate
Wife and I had Gumbo and New England clam chowder and both excellent. Wife had Drum and I had a type of fish stew and again both excellent. Service was just right, attentive but not pushy.
OMG...the best meal ever. I am so sorry we do not live in New Orleans, because we probably would be going to Peche very often. To begin with the ambiance was lively and very welcoming. Our servers Jonathan and David were superb. My Martini was perfect and the food was incredible. Our appetizers, entrees and the "magic" dessert were all extraordinary. We also appreciated that Ana, the manager, came over before we left to make sure we had a great dining experience. Words do not do Peche justice. You must go there and experience how wonderful a meal can be!
this was a pleasant suprise. the dishes were creative and well presented.
After hearing this was a must do - a little disappointed!
Easily in top 5 best restaurants in new orleans and for what you pay for this world class cuisine, it's easily the best restaurant value in the city
This restaurant should get Michelin five stars. I've never had anything that wasn't delicious, fresh and beautifully presented.
Amazing food was perfect really good small plates
