The table could’ve been better positioned- we were a table of 4 seated in the middle of the restaurant. There were plenty of other better positioned tables that we could’ve been seated at

Waiting staff very welcoming, but the first disappointment was being told ‘racks of lamb’ was off the menu. Then you realise that the menu is not that wide. Scallops were nice, prawn cocktail ok, we went for aubergine bake and steak which were nice. But the bill was expensive for what we had and in no way was a 13.5% service charge warranted.

Disappointing experience as a couple dining at Paternoster Chop House. The wine recommended to us by our sever was supposed to be similar to a variety we like but tasted nothing like it—sour and unpleasant. Steaks were below average: chewy, not cooked to the requested rareness, and not worth the high price (one was nearly £50). While the fries were decent, the bone marrow side was a letdown. The atmosphere was the worst part—nearby patrons were playing music on a loudspeaker, and the staff did nothing about it. To top it off, a 13.5% service charge was automatically added, bringing the bill to £130 for a very underwhelming meal.

Previous location of restaurant was nicer. It was very noisy inside the restaurant. Service was good and food very good. 2 courses with shared wine was ~£75 per head including 13.5% service charge.

Food was nice but expected better for the price £92 chateaubriand ordered medium rare came well done except for a totally uncooked sliver in the middle. At this price, I’d expect the chef to know how to cook big cuts.
