Patagonia Grill & Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Meet an old friend for lunch. We had the executive lunch for $25. It is worth every penny and more. This is Argentina cuisine. Lunch started with an empanada, salad, steak with mushrooms mashed potatoes grilled veggies and ended with a Argentine crepe. Simply delicious. Best kept secret on I-10 in west Houston.
Way overpriced for the quality of food. Appetizer, salad and entree where soaked in oil. My sea bass was bland. Only the quail was somewhat edible. We paid $150 for dinner for two. I wish I had taken my hard earned money else where. Taste of Texas or Ruth’s chris to name a few. Oh and this isn’t a $$ restaurant more like a $$$ or $$$$. This is our second time here, we decided to give it a second chance but we definitely won’t be back ever!
AMAZING! That's really the only way to sum this place up. Completely unexpected. When you drive up it a little place in a strip center and walk inside all previous judgements are quickly dropped. The food is so perfect and delicious in it's simplicity. Best empanadas I've had and the service was great! Go here and go soon!!!
We had a fantastic evening. It was the last day of our vacation and the music and ambiance was exactly what we were looking for. The meat platter and ribeye were very generous portions although not exactly cheap, but that was not what we were looking for.
Overall very good.
We enjoy eating at Patagonia. The service is very good; the food is very good. We choose it for the ambiance and the ability to talk with those in the group. Despite bad weather due to Hurricane Harvey, the restaurant was mostly stocked and provided a delicious meal.
Last night, the wife & I had another date night. 👫💑💏
We started off with dinner at Patagonia Grill and Cafe. We chose them strictly based on their Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. $35 for 4 courses PLUS a glass of wine or ice tea! Yes, please 😊 🍽🍴
Once we are seated, they delivered a bread basket with a bowl of what appeared to be chimichurri.
For our 1st course/appetizers we both selected the Empanada - Choice of 2 Argentinean Empanadas (Beef, Chicken, Spinach & Mushroom or Onion & Cheese). Beef for me, chicken for her. 🐮🐔 Then we swapped one each, so we could sample both flavors.
I love empanadas & these were great.
Next was the 2nd course. Shelly got the Asparagus Soup (good, creamy and smooth) while I had a wonderful Mixed Greens and Crab Cake Salad with famous Pink Sauce and King Shrimp.
For the 3rd course, we both ordered the 44 Farms 10 oz Ribeye Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Cream of Mushroom Sauce. 🔪 The steaks were a perfect medium rare. 🐴🐂🐃 The tators were velvety smooth. Delicious. 🥔
Now the sweetest course, the dessert. My better half went with the Argentinean Crepes (panqueques) with Dulce de Leche. The tiny bite she let me have was terrific. My choice was Tres leches. 🍰 Another awesome find, thanks to HRW.
I was very excited to try this restaurant as I had seen several great reviews. I was also looking for a new place for a group of us who go out regularly. Three of us ate at Patagonia for HRW.
The empanadas were good, but one of my two had uncooked dough. Two of us had the fish which had a great sounding cognac sauce. There was no flavor of cognac and my fish was too cold to eat. My friend's was too fishy tasting and she couldn't eat it at all. A third member of our party had the pork chop, he said it was good, nothing special. Service was ok, not great. Once the server took our order, we saw him again when he brought the food, and then no more.
I had to flag him down once and ask another to get some water. All in all, a disappointing experience.
Went to Patagonia with a party of 7 and overall review was very positive for all food options with the exception of the ribs which were a little dry. Good value as each entree comes with a salad and a side dish. Rosemary potatoe sides are awesome! Service by Jaime was impeccable and he is extremely accommodating. This was my second visit and if you are a larger party you should request seating in the wine room which is a little more private. Definitely recommend!
We started with delicious Argentine sausage and then had the skirt steak for our entree. I had the rosemary roasted potatos (delicious)and my husband had the French fries which were very good - nice and crispy. The salad was mostly greens - nothing special but good. We had the dulce la leche crepes for dessert - very good, but very sweet. I was disappointed that they did not serve Martin Fierro but I guess that's more Uruguayan than Argentinian.
It was a bit noisy, but they had a wonderful musician playing the saxophone-oldies but goodies.
We'll be back.
We went for my Dad's birthday because he wanted to try a Kobe beef steak. It was something on his bucket list but they were out. A little disappointing but the meal was terrific. I love Argentina-style cuisine & wines and Patagonia does not disappoint. Our waiter was excellent and it was a cozy place. Will definitely go back someday.
This has been my second time going to this restaurant and i loved it. I went both for birthdays and the food, service, environment was great! This last time i went with a dinner of 12 and our server was amazing. He didnt feel annoyed or frustrated. He kept his same cool personality throughout our dinner. Sebastián is perfessional, funny, and friendly. Go to the restaurant you wont regret it.
Mother's Day Brunch - seated 30 minutes late despite reservation; had to request napkins and silverware 3 times after appetizers were delivered; food was somewhat bland in general but house made desserts were good quality; called day ahead of time to check if normal menu would be available or just special brunch menu - had to leave a voice message and no one ever returned the call
