    It had been a few years since we had been to Pasta Moon and were anticipating the same experience as before. Both the water/bread person and our server were very timid and didn't seem to know their roles. Most likely new hires, but should have been trained better. They both seemed afraid and unsure which left us uncomfortable. The majority of the food was mediocre at best. The only highlight was the pea and fava bean appetizer which was bright and the flavors shone through on this simple dish. The fritto misto was soggy, oily and tasted of old oil. While we were one of the first customers at lunch, and the oil may not have been up to temperature, it should not have been used. Usually a fried dish gets a sprinkling of salt when it comes out, and this lacked any flavor other than old oil. The clam chowder had nice chunks of clams, but again, seemed to lack any seasoning. Our Papperdelle Pancetta with Wild Mushrooms had a lovely al dente bite to the pasta, but it had very little taste or physical pieces of pancetta, and maybe 3 pieces of small enoki mushrooms. Lots of pine nuts which I hadn't had in a dish since before 2000, and an enormous glob of cold mascarpone. The atmosphere was lovely, but wasn't enough to carry the meal and we won't be going back. Very disappointing.

    Took 50 minutes after being seated to get first order. Pork chop was large, but lacked flavor. Thin crust pizza was quite good despite the very long wait.

    We had never been here before. The food was amazing. And the service was great. I however do have the same problem often with most places we go to when we are out of town. The reservation was made well in advance, perhaps a month. I asked for a “special” table, window or outside, for my birthday. The problem is that of course there was no special table waiting for us. When we arrived we asked for a window. And we were given a door table. It was the servers Door. And every time it opened we were blasted with cold air. My only comment is to pay attention to what your guests request,, especially for a special occasion, and especially when it is well in advance. There is no reason to feel like we are begging when we get to our destination reservation

    Seasonal fresh, well crafted dishes (corn chowder; raw pea, lima bean, mint and lemon zest salad; fresh tomato and burrata bruschetta). One of the best cocktail menus I’ve ever seen (sho-gun whiskey cocktail), and hand-made fresh pasta (tagliatelle bolognese with a days-simmered sauce with depth and nuance). Great service, ambience and food. This is a HMB treasure.

    Wonderful dining experience with excellent service. Ambiance was superb for a celebratory dinner. The portions were so generous that we split salad and entree (lasagna), shared a desert and it was plenty. I would definitely return here. Highly recommend.
