We loved it. We had a reservation to celebrate a big birthday. Hostesses made sure we had a nice table. I had cauliflower (I’m a vegetarian) and my boyfriend had the noodle and chicken curry. We shared the vegetable tempura. All so good. Drinks were great. Try this place!!
My wife and I had a great time and really enjoyed the food. We were seated next to really friendly people and we tried a variety of cuisines. Great place!
Great service, they were all so attentive! Great food as usual.
Chef’f tasting was excellent!
Really good variety of dishes and tastes
Incredible combinations of flavors, executed beautifully. Service is very attentive, yet relaxed. The wine list had great variety without being outlandishly priced (I can't stand going to a restaurant where over half the bottles are more expensive than 4 entrees) The staff, front and back of house had a pride in what they serve and how, without becoming snooty or arrogant. Staffs' product knowledge was excellent
Incredible food; smart and attentive staff.
Planning our next visit already!
Delicious food-Great staff-wonderful experience- glad we checked it out
Food was excellent as was presentation. Service was attentive and knowledgeable.
Always great food, cocktails, and service!
One of our favorite dining spots in Chicago.
Had reso for Four at 8pm, then our friend’s nephew unexpectedly came into town. I called to add him and they gladly complied, and asked that we come in 15mins later to make sure accommodations worked out.
The water glasses were cute but small so we were constantly filling them, both ourselves and our server. We had our own table versus communal dining so we were ecstatic!
LOVED the baked potato bing bread and butter! Should have gotten the whole one. We had the broccoli salad - it had something chewy sweet in it and it had a middle eastern taste to it - turns out there were dates in it and Moroccan spices. Loved the veggie tempura - so light and crispy! I enjoyed the squid ink conchiglie and the yuba cannelloni, but I think there were alfalfa-ish sprouts on The cannelloni so it tasted earthy. We had the bibim bop with yellowfish tuna - that combo threw me for a loop because I’ve never had bibim bop with fish - I cannot say i would order it again. But, in their defense, the Fish sat a little bit and cooked and it was meant to be eaten medium rare. I liked the grilled carne asada, just had to let it cook in my bibim bop hot bowl for a bit because I didn’t want to risk eating medium-rare meats (had a transplant recently). Beignets were warm and soft and yummy, especially the jam! The last was the passion fruit and coconut sorbet with buckwheat - loved it! So refreshing and lightly sweet!
I look forward to trying Parachute again with their other menus!
Came here for a true culinary experience with my visiting fiancee and folks, we were blown away by the dishes and service. Whiskey Sours were on point! Thank you, will be back!
Best food experience I've had in Chicago. Great, great place. We had the bing bread, grilled yuba (spectacular!), flank steak, broccoli salad and bibimbap with yellowfin tuna. The menu changes often but I am sure the quality of the food and drinks does not.
We finally got a reservation at Parachute after trying to get one for--literally--months. Cocktails and wine were great. First bites were our favorite. Pickles and tempura were AMAZING, and the bread was yummy too. My partner loved the horseradish on the beef tartare, and we both loved the cauliflower. The squid ink pasta was delicious, but whatever seafood was on top of it we did not like and did not finish. The salmon was cooked to perfection, but we didn't love the rhubarb with it. So the meal kind of went downhill for us. The pacing of the meal was also a bit off; we got our first several places within minutes of each other and then we waited a LONG time between the last few dishes, even though we ordered them all at the beginning. However, servers were attentive, even up to keeping our water glasses full. Beverly Kim was on site doing all kinds of things--from serving to working coat check and talking with diners. I appreciated that. Probably we will not rush back to Parachute; it is not in our neighborhood and we feel like we can get a more consistently delicious meal closer to home. However, we loved the inventiveness and bravery of the menu and appreciate this small gem. If we were in the neighborhood or knew someone who wanted to try contemporary Korean fusion food, we would probably recommend it.
Amazing food and the wine pairings were spot on. We had some dietary restrictions and are so thankful to the restaurant for accommodating us.
The service was excellent and the food was fantastic and authentic. It was a bit loud for our taste! One thing! We ordered too much food. We were encouraged to order two things from each group and it was more than we needed for a meal.
Wow. Amazing service, amazing food. Very intimate feeling and perfect for a date or special occasion.
Didn't know what to expect when I made the reservation. I was looking for a new Korean restaurant that we had not tried before, so we decided to give this one a try. I only discovered after the reservation was made that the head chef is a celebrity and that getting a table here is difficult. I guess I lucked out. It turns out that we lucked into one of the best meals we've had in years. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. True to modern fusion cuisine, the selections are uncommon-often made with ingredients we'd never tried before. All were spectacular. There were four of us in our party. We each tried to order different appetizers and entrees. Every single item was special. I strongly recommend Parachute.
Food was Delicious! Favorite of the night: Chicken bibimbop! Everything was delicious, every single dish was interesting and creative and flavorful. I don't eat any seafood, but still had a wonderful meal. Definitely would recommend to anyone.
We made a reservation on open table and yet we still had to wait 20 minutes before getting seated. The food was mediocre. I’ve been to other Michelin restaurants, but We ordered the oysters, bing bread, beef tartare, and nigiri for the appetizers.
Everything from the food to the service was excellent! Great spin on traditional Korean food.
We enjoyed the Off The Ciff menu where fishes are selected by the Chef and paced for you. The food was inventive and delicious while maintaining an authentic nature.
Great spot. Infusion of Korean and American in such a wonderfully executed fashion. One of my favorite meals.
The skirt steak in particular was AMAZING, so definitely try that one, the bing bread was great too, the bibimbap and beef tartare were just ok
We were glad to be in the 9 pm seating. We asked our server to slow down and she did. The slower pace ace and the decreasing noise level after 9:30 made our delicious dinner even better.
Each dish was a delight.
Thank you Parachute folks.
Great food. I could see the Korean inspiration, yet understand the chef's own spin on the flavors.
Very cool atmosphere with some communal dining tables. It was different food. I felt that mist of what we had was good but no where near great. The carrot cake was very different but very good. Overall I’m not sure if I’d go back because it’s quite pricey and didn’t knock my socks off for the price.
Some dishes were truly outstanding, others felt a touch over priced for what they were
We really enjoyed the various textures and layers of flavor in each dish. Fun experience.
Great food. Sat at chefs counter. Drinks were really great. A little loud
The staff was very helpful and friendly. I noted in our reservation that we were celebrating a special occasion and almost everyone came up to congratulate my husband. Very warm and inviting.
It was fantastic. My wife was skeptical a bit of the menu offerings, but she loved everyone that we chose. The service was great, and Bev was very personable and greeted us and all the other guests. It deserves its Michelin star, and we would go back.
I have to be honest: we were excited for this one. Had a friend in from out of town, had heard such great things. Overall, we just weren't impressed.
Went with a good mix of the waiters recommendations and a few of our own. Ended up ordering six dishes, and just didn't think a single one of them were noteworthy or exceptionally executed. One in particular - the citrus salad - neither my vegetarian friend nor myself could handle more than a couple bites of.
Certainly don't want to knock Parachute or their staff. Many people have gone here and raved. For my money, however, I just wasn't into to it and wouldn't go back.
One of our favorite Chicago restaurants for the cuisine, the service and the atmosphere! Love that the staff recognized this was our third visit and that the owner stopped by to introduce herself to us. Little touches that mean so much.
Very good food but service was spotty. We have been to Parachute a number of times and have enjoyed the food. Somewhat less so this time and we seem to have lost our server for the final 20 minutes of our evening.
The food was good and several of the dishes were outstanding but I do feel the price point is a little high.
The food and service were both outstanding. Each new dish was exciting and absolutely delicious. Sublime. We can’t wait to go back.
parachute is the perfect place if you want to spend a lot of money and have rude waitstaff
Fun, adventurous time. Amazing food, great service. Loud but great ambience.
