Service was amazing. I wasn't blown away by the food, and it's quite pricey.
Everything about this experience was superb! We had the 10 course tasting and two of us had the wine pairings ( a sommelier from Mexico was in attendance.) The food was all very fresh and uniquely presented Korean fusion. The wine was also unique and unlike the usual red and white (there was an orange colored rose that tasted of peaches and was delicious!
Food was delicious and unique. We will definitely return!
everything was amazing. It's pricey, so go for a special occasion.
We loved our dining experience at Parachute! The team service allowed us to interact with almost all the staff and where we sat allowed us to see into the kitchen which was neat.
So special and unique - Parachute is cozy and elevated. I've never experienced such an interesting and inspiring combination of flavors - not to be missed if you are looking for a comfortably adventurous meal!
Well deserved Michillin Star , food was very good: bold on taste .Price is great and wine and non alcoholic pairings were well thought out .We were able to secure Chef’s table and that was a great experience.Believe the hype!!!
Wonderful meal! Service was phenomenal
The food was delicious. The two of us shared five dishes, and all were flavorful and complex. My favorite was the clams and my husband loved the cuddlefish. Our waitress was wonderful and very knowledgeable about not only the food, but pairing wines with that food. We will go again and again.
Great spot for a date night. We got the tasting menu and felt it was a great value and fun way to try lots of different things. The staff was amazing. Everyone was super warm and inviting; great personalities and very attentive. The scallop dish was one of the best we have ever had. Overall a really great experience.
A fantastic meal from start to finish. Enjoyed the off the cuff option which was a wonderful selection of menu items plus one off the menu item. I felt it was an amazing value and quality was exceptional. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to go back.
Must order the potato bread. We also loved the crispy rice and the soup style meat dish. Great for sharing! The atmosphere was nice for a Friday night and the staff was knowledgeable and kind.
This restaurant is perfect for a special date night or quiet gathering.
Super hip restaurant with a cool vibe! Staff were amazing and super helpful in helping pick out a great wine and recommending an entree!
Some of the food items were really good. Smoked Yuba was unique and delicious. Yellowfin tuna with nam price pro was delicious. The bing bread was too hyped up but interesting. Take half to see if you like it. Kkanpungi (chicken) was okay but the cuttlefish with crispy rice was below expectation-a mumbo jumbo. Overall, a good first experience with the food. However, the total turn off was the cramped seating arrangement on bar stools which did not have any back support. The seats were packed too tight. Please do not do this to your customers. Also, the noise level was too high to hear any conversation.
Wow wow - This place is one of the best restaurant we’ve been in a long time. Food was exquisite, service friendly, and atmosphere homey. Will go back for sure
My Birthday baby
Parachute is one of our favorites -laces in Chicago to eat. Not only do you have an amazing meal, but, their cocktails, wine and service are beyond compare. Love, love, love Parachute.
Valentines Weekend 💘
The food is inventive and absolutely delicious, and the service is stellar. Our server had a note from our first visit a couple years ago that I had an allergy, so they prepared an annotated menu for me ahead of time indicating which dishes would be safe. Wow! Totally impressed. They were friendly, attentive and had great recommendations as well as a deep knowledge of their wines. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was fantastic! A bit too pricey to frequent anything more than a few times a year, but I wanted to lick the plate clean for 9O% of the items put in front of me. A superb dinning experience all the way around
Melt in your mouth food. We sat at the bar. We went with the severs suggestions on many of the dishes and were so impressed. Perfectly paced meal as well. We never felt rushed. Cannot wait to go back. The Mackerel is a MUST order.
Still our favorite restaurant in Chicago. These people still know what hospitality means, and still serve some of the most creative, yet honest, food in this city. The servers actually know everything about the wine and food and are so warm and friendly. Every trip to Chicago means a trip to Parachute, for sure.
We were 30 minutes early, at 6:00 rather than the 6:30, and sat right away. The hostess was very accommodating and personable. She offered the available counter and took us and showed it to us as available right away, rather than a table for two or community table at short wait time.
The Bing Bread was yummy! So much so, I wish I'd orderered a full, rather than a half loaf for two. It was like nothing I'd ever had, and I'm a breads lover. The appetizer roll was yummy. The clams were delicious and interesting. The mackerel, I enjoyed the sweet onion wababi accompaniment. The brisket was interesting and potentially delicious, fall apart tender, not too spicy, but was soooooo salty, I really would have preferred to send it back, we both thought salty to the point of inedible. The coffee was delicious, Metric Honduras, French Press. The desserts were amazing! We both could have eaten multiples! My birthday, the candle was a lovely and a most appreciated touch in the Tiramisu. The matcha was a delicious and interesting take on Tiramisu, yummy enough to eat a few! One of my favorite gelatoes is black seasame. So the Koreapolitan ice cream trio was amazing! The yuzu citrus third was new to me and a striking counternote to the rich, deep black seasame, and the mellow adzuki bean in between. I wish the menu would have had a few more choices, things to go back and try.
Enjoyed the ambiance. We ate at the counter. One of the owners waited on us while his wife, counterpart, skillfully tended the bar. He was attentive and interesting, a bit too rushing and pushy. I teach middle school, 34 years, with rushing bells all day. And a birthday, I would have enjoyed courses, not ordering all at once. ...Even ten minutes more. Then, our clams would have come out before the entree. Looked forward to the reservation and drove 105 minutes one way. We were out of the restaurant in an hour. The kitchen was fast, serving a full, small restaurant, dishes hot.
Excellent food and service. We will be back!
Great food and drinks
Absolutely wonderful date night dinner! Food was creative, wonderful, and very fairly priced. We especially loved the broccoli salad, Bing bread, and the stew. The atmosphere was also very quaint and fun. Will definitely return!
Recommendation would depend on friend’s. Expectations and sophistication. Food was fine but not as good as any of 100 restaurants in Korea town in nyc or pal park in NJ. Good service. Definitely not blown away by any of the dishes. Also, too pricey for what it is.
We are regulars and always love Parachute and now Wherewithall. Our visit this week was disappointing. The oysters were too warm, mignonette with Apple lifeless. The pickles all too crunchy not fermented enough. The main dish of brisket and the smoked tofu ssam - was just not that satisfying. Experimentation with a tiramisu held promise but was layered with way too much cream. We just felt the flavors, experiments lacked balance - the entire dinner was off kilter. Hope chef gets back into the groove soon - we love Parachute but not this week!
It was nice to be able to try a diverse of Korean food that is different from your average Korean restaurant. However, the dishes are way over priced for what they are. Our waiter also advised us to order way too much food.
Wow! What a lovely night! We chose the kitchen’s choice and Easley piece was better than the one before. Food runner took as much pride and care as our server did. We will be back
Get the BING bread, clams, scuttlefish, broccoli salad.
The scuttlefish was A+
Skip the tuna (covered in weird sauce) and pickles (they aren't cucumbers, but other veggies!)
The food and ambience were outstanding. Our only issue was that there were long pauses between courses where we were waiting for our food -- at one point over 20 minutes.
Very fancy, chef tasting menu. But we felt that we filled up on the heavy apps and had to take our mains home. It was good and definitely inventive, but a one time visit for us.
So great. My husband is vegan and though they don’t do modifications they had plenty of delicious vegan dishes. And all the staff has been informed of him being vegan and were very attentive and knowledgeable. Such a professional yet warm and engaging staff!
Really beautifully thought out food. Good service and great ambiance. Will be back for sure!
We loved the food and the wine pairings. Service was amazing...we can’t wait to go back! Thanks for a wonderful birthday meal for my husband!
Very informed waitstaff. The menu was limited but everyone found something they enjoyed.
The Bing bread complimented the food and we’d recommend it to diners especially if you’re going for a few of their spicy items (i.e. the pickles )
We love this restaurant -- just wish it were closer to home and we'd go more often. The food is so interesting and inventive. The absolute standout on this visit was jiap chae (spelling?) made into a nori wrapped and lightly tempura fried with a nice dipping sauce. It was so good I really wanted to have another go at it for dessert. Service is very friendly and informative. Dishes arrive as they're ready. Really good wine by the glass. There were small groups, couples and families enjoying the restaurant. We were there very early so the noise level was moderate.
Great service, tasting menu for NYE was phenomenal and varied and plenty of food, great addition of the hats and horns and champagne toast at midnight. Thanks for an excellent evening!
Love this place. Always spend our special occasions here and never been disappointed!
