First time trying this place and I must say it was absolutely amazing hands down best crabcake
very good as always. Just not a fan of the upstairs dining room. No ambiance. Drinks were a bit slow to arrive through no fault of our server!! He was great! No bartender on second floor so servers had to run up and down the stairs for drinks.
We had the crab cakes, lovely
We come for the crab cakes, which are among the best in the area ( and that means among the best in the world). But the rest of the food is very good, too. We especially like the marinated cucumber/celery that is complementary with every meal. It's very refreshing. We also like the ambience, the decor, the people-watching.
The best crab cake I've ever had! No fillers or bread. Delicious sides and outstanding sangria
As expected, the crab cakes were large, filled with jumbo crab, and delicious! Best ever!
Great time, great food, great service. We had a group of 8. We sat at a large round table. Everyone was able to talk to each other. Crab cakes for everyone! Food is so good.
A few ordered an old fashion. We had gotten them before and liked that they came in 3 glasses, ice, fruit and liquor. We got to make our own drink. They were delivered pre made this time and we were let down by that. When we inquired they said they were going away with that system but they brought our next round out the way we liked it. I hope they keep that system!
Service was excellent, same as last time we were here.
Food is always good. At least I should say the crab cakes are always great! Once of these days I would like to try the other food but I love the crabcaskes so much that I never have tried anything else.
Great food and service as always. Tables are close together but diners are friendly so we don’t mind. It’s a great neighborhood place. Entrees are fairly priced for the quality and the serving size. Great ambiance and friendly wait staff.
As always, the crab cakes are to die for! They look like the photograph and as mouthwatering.
The food was good, but they raised the prices for the holiday and had a limited menu.
Outstanding meal. Rockfish fresh hand properly cooked. Crab cake - a top ten location in the region. Service excellent. Enjoyed the meal. Busy place, crowded and not a lot of extra space. Sit by the fireplace if you need a warm up!
Had someone visiting from out of town and the crab cakes did not disappoint.
Eight family members had lunch here after a funeral. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The crab cakes cannot be matched anywhere else. The only disappointment I had was that they do not sweet potato fries and the cole slaw is different that the one that is in their carry out across the street.
I highly recommend Pappas crab cakes. They are the best! No fillers or frills, just plain lumpmeat goodness! Desserts were wonderful too!
The BEST place in Baltimore for crab cakes. I definitely recommend this place for dinner when in the Baltimore area.
We had a 7:00 reservation and were not seated until 7:45 or so. It was packed.
It was hard to watch people in parties of 2, 3 and 4, who had come in well after us get seated before us. We were a party of 5.
Still out favorite crab cake. We will continue to come!
In past years food taste was better then now. And service a little on the slow side.
The food (crab cake, salad, slaw) was fantastic, tasty and a great value. BUT parking is terrible - at least it as this day. In the future I'll go to the Pappas location in Hunt Valley/Timonium. Same value and good food, no issues with parking,
Got 2 of 4 orders wrong. Took 20 minutes to get cocktail sauce for a crab cake. Orange roughy was dry and tasteless and overpriced.
Our server who described herself as new came to the table twice. Once for drinks and to deliver a salad. Never came back for refills. Over 30 Minutes for crab dip to be delivered and 55 minutes for two pasta dishes. Not once did she come back to check on us, apologize or compensate in any way.. we had to track her down for our bill. $26 for penne pasta with some crabmeat was not worth any one it. So disappointed for a rare evening out
We like to have seafood out during lent; the Orange Roughy my wife had was more than ample as she ended up taking half of it home. Myself, I had the fried oysters which were very good as well. The only short coming I'd mention is the limited space of the dining room.
Absolutely the best crab cakes around. Alway consistent!
Our waitress was new and didn't know the menu very well. She made a few mistakes with our order but we had fun and enjoyed the food.
We had a wonderful evening the meal was excellent our waiter was green but at the same time he was good the overall evening was well worth repeating and we will be back again
Love the crab cakes which are among the best in town
I found the food to be good and customer service was very personal. The staff was accomodating and the noise volume was good for conversation.Food portions were excellent and filling. i would definitely reccomend this restaurant to my family and friends
Service was good but it took longer than expected for the food to be served to the table. Crab cakes were excellent
Having dined at Pappas many times in the past, and been very satisfied with our experience, we were disappointed with this last visit. This being a Valentine dinner date for my wife and me, we came with certain expectations as to what we desired for dinner. To our dismay, we discovered that on this occasion Pappas offered only their special holiday menu. We had our heart set on the stuffed mushroom caps as an appetizer, and I had a desire for a veal dish. Neither of these items were available. We each ordered the Cream of Crab soup, which was very salty, possibly due to the fact that it appeared to be made with claw meat. The main course meals we settled for were adequate, but not worth the the price on the menu. Our service was fair to say the least. Our server took my wife's drink order before I was seated at the table, and neglected to informed us of the half price per bottle wine special. After she informed us that the holiday menu items were the only items available that day, we asked for a little more time to decide. She then took an inordinate amount of time to return to take our order, seeming that it was a bother to wait on us. All in all, not our best experience at Pappas. We will plan to return in the future, with the hope that things would return to our expectations.
Great evening. Perfect.
Valentines Day dinner
Tends to be a bit noisey due to closeness of tables. Howeve, service is superb and the food as good as it gets.
My husband and I enjoy going to Pappas. It never disappoints. The crab cakes are the best in Baltimore!!! If you like a broiled crab cake, this is the place. Eat 3 crab cakes (by yourself) and they will take your photo for the wall of honor! Nice neighborhood gem.
The service was good Personnel were nice. But the foods lacked taste the crab cakes were very large lump but no flavor potatoes mashed whipped no flavor did not offer any rolls or bread tables were very crowded. Bet experience not like the many years ago.
Great place the appetizers and the crab cakes are delicious .
Eaten here several times. I’ve only had their specialty item, the crab cake. It’s a large, broiled delicious crab cake with either 2 vegetables or a vegetable and salad. For $19 it’s a steal. Rolls and raw vegetable assortment starter also included.
Went to Pappas for parents anniversary. Food was excellent and service was excellent. Red Sangria was delicious. Definitely the place to go for crabcakes. Never had a bad meal here.
Pappas Parkville is our go-to place for great crab cake and their special "jack knife potatoes". The food is amazing and the price is great. Missed our pickles and cucumbers this time.
Always a good meal. This time got seated upstairs which is less authentic and away from the action.
My Sister and I took our Dad to Pappas for his birthday. We selected it because it is close to home and has food we knew he would like. I visited the website to get a jump on what I was going to select since I am allergic to shellfish. I saw that there was an on line option to make reservations so I used it and I was glad I did because I did not know it was Restaurant Week.
We arrived about 10 minutes early and the hostess took us right to our table which was near the fireplace which was nice. Our waitress Rachel was very pleasant and attentive. We loved the cucumbers that are placed on each table. I had forgotten just how much I loved them. I got the steak sandwich and it was sooooo good. My Dad and my Sister loved their meals as well. They took the crab ball appetizer home and ate it the next day. I was stuffed and we skipped dessert.
I will make sure to dine here again and soon.
