Pappas Restaurant - Cockeysville
Our dinner was excellent. Our server(s) were fantastic. I noticed the teamwork between the staff...it was seamless.
Steak was perfect!
Alfredo was seasoned just right!
Of course, the crab cakes were great!
Party of 4, cut to 3 due to illness, and were seated at a Table facing and up against the Wall. My Wife very upset. Were told the was the only Table available for 3. We moved table away from Wall and discovered Table not Level! Our waiter came immediately, and said he would fix, and he did. also the Room manager came and offered us an appetizer for our inconvenience. From that point on we Had a Wonderful Meal and Service . Besides the Crab Cakes, the Lamb Chops were Outstanding and the Black Bottom Cheese Cake really topped off a great evening. The Mixed Drinks were also terrific.
I had a Dinner Party for 12 People, back in Spring, for my wife'd Birthday, and will be doing it again!
Fabulous crab cakes!
Every location is a duplicate in all areas.
We love the crab cakes ...feel they are good representative of our state... always take out of towners there.. service is always great too
We celebrated my husband’s birthday with a PERFECT crab cake dinner! The cucumber appetizer was refreshing, the cocktails just right, and of course the crab cakes were fabulous with delicious sides of hot French fries and creamy coleslaw. Our server was professional and friendly, and brought my husband a complimentary bowl of ice cream with all the toppings to complete his birthday meal. Kudos to the chef - it was a 10 in every way !! P.S. we also celebrated my birthday at Pappa’s in July.
This was a huge disappointment, especially since we went with out-of-town guests who were celebrating an anniversary. I had heard so much about Pappas crab cakes, and compared to the rest of our meal, it was great although really just fair to middling.
Four of us ordered the crab cake and, for the most part, were satisfied. The sides, however, were horrible. Waterlogged brussel sprouts, hard, woody broccoli, and runny cole slaw. The worst side was the "jacket potato." It was likely frozen and thrown under the broiler and came in an aluminum muffin cup. They must buy them by the hundreds, if not thousands. One friend ordered veal marsala with shrimp. The veal, which I'm not sure was veal at all based on the dark color, was covered in a brown gravy that looked like it sauce that covers egg foo yung. Not traditional thin, glossy glaze, and nary a mushroom in site. When my friend pushed everything aside on the plate, the pasta was swimming in a puddle of gravy tinged water. We figured that we couldn't go wrong with rice pudding at a Greek restaurant. Boy, were we wrong. Pappas sure likes things to be soupy. There is more rice in a bowl of Campbell's chicken rice soup than in their rice pudding. Also, I was looking for a traditional Greek appetizer, but the only Greek item on the menu was spinach pie. It's just as well because the top would probably have been limp and the filling runny.
If the servers were attentive -- hell, if our waiter even realized we were his table (even after we asked to host to send him over) -- a terrible evening would not have been saved.
Our favorites, crab cakes and grilled salmon were both delicious and cooked to perfection. The waiters were very personable and accommodating.
Good crab soup and large crab cakes.
Very good waitress.
Delicious dinner and friendly atmosphere
We go to Pappas regularly. Being a holiday weekend, I thought it might be good to make reservations. When we got there, we checked in and then a party of 6 (with reservations) and a party of 2 (without reservations) came in behind us. Both of those groups, including those without a reservation, were seated ahead of us. The hostess then said it would be about 10 minutes before we would be seated (which was odd because we had a reservation and were on time/not early and those without were seated right away). We decided to just sit in the bar instead of waiting. So it might not be worth making a reservation if it’s not going to be honored anyway.
Good Food and good service at a moderate price in a comfortable atmosphere.
Too-notch Crabcake with very competitive pricing. Group of 8 today with one sever who did an Excellent job !! Thanks
Great waitress is the bar!!!!
It was ok. Nothing great about it. I have had better but have had much worse. We live an hour away so not in any big rush to go back.
Our waiter DJ was outstanding. The food was delicious and a good value.
Great seafood (crab) as always. Live out of state now but visit 2-3 times a year for crab cakes.
I always have a great experience when dining here. The attention of Justin Wedlin and his staff is top notch.
Seafood is above average and a good value. Ambiance is family oriented.
Second best crabcakes in Maryland, no... on Earth. Excellent food, excellent value.
My wife and I always eat here fir special occasions.
The best seafood I’ve had in Baltimore! I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. It’s very family friendly as well.
Oh my the food was great I had the Calimari for a appetizer and the crab cake for dinner the best and biggest crab cake ever all lump meat and the prices are great the service was amazing we had a great waiter and even the manage meant came to check on every table to make sure everything was fine I will defenitly be going back
This was our first visit and the food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Terrific crab cake special on Tuesdays. Enjoyed the food, the service was great and desserts are excellent
It was the first time we were there. It was fabulous.....we will be going back. The crab cakes were the best we ever had. Service was wonderful!! Everyone was friendly!!
Wonderful waitress Megan and delicious crab cakes! Highly rec’d and loved all food and on Wednesday evenings (the night we went) it is half price wine. It was my grandfathers birthday and my whole family enjoyed it and looking forward to going back. Big lump crab meat! Highly rec’d :-)
A little more crab meat in the crab cakes would be nice even if they were smaller
Best crab cakes anywhere! Never my daughter comes into town Pappas‘s number one on our list !
This was my birthday celebration, as noted on the reservation and never acknowledged. At least the crab cake was better than the last one I had there. Poor beer selection and flat sodas marked the occasion.
Crab cakes are superb. Even the gluten free version.
Family reunion dinner. Great table. Great table. Great service. Noisy obnoxious table nearby with one woman intoxicated and talking/laughing loudly. Otherwise , food and service were excellent !!!
The crab cakes are not what they used to be, but still good, just not great. The bread is not very good. It isn't as bad as it used to be but it could be so much better. The side dishes were dreadful. Service was good. This is basically an old people's restaurant trying to be more.
Food is great! Free parking lot. Knowledgeable staff.
Food was delicious as always. Delightful attentive service.
One person sent their meal back. Two people could not enjoy the rockfish. A new chef?
This time we went to Pappas during restaurant week. We found that we could do better simply ordering from the regular menu. Our dinner was a bit rushed probably because it was restaurant week. They do
serve a lot of food.
Our server DJ was superior. He went above and beyond to accommodate us especially my 96 year old father who complained about his crab soup. DJ made everything right for dad not once but twice . Sad to know he'll be leaving shortly for the Air Force. A great loss for Pappas
The crab cakes were amazing. Can't wait to have them again.
I love this place and their cucumber salad and crab cakes! Definitely give it a try!
Great job by Pappas and Open Table having the table ready on time for our reservation even though they were packed!
Our service was exceptional and the food was very good as usual. We will be back!
