We enjoyed the food and ambiance. We were celebrating a birthday.
Fabulous. Servers were great, food was great! Can’t wait to come back.
We had to wait like 15 min when we had a reservation and the restaurant was pretty empty. Host staff was the weak point of the visit. Server was fantastic. Made the whole experience.
There’s a reason that Pappas Bros Steakhouse is internationally recognized. It is an experience all at own.
The ambience, decor, live music, expertise of the staff, excellent customer service all come together in such away that the world class food is barely able to standout as the best part of the experience.
Nonetheless the food still came out as spectacular as I had always heard it recommended. We got the 40oz porterhouse and we just couldn’t get it in our mouths fast enough. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and considering what an experience you’re getting I wouldn’t consider it overtly expensive at all. I’ve paid much more for for much less prestigious experiences.
Specially acknowledgement to our server John D who helped make a wonderful night all the more memorable with his excellent customer service and especially his expertise when it came to wine pairings.
Unfortunately the service was sub par. Typically the service at Pappa’s is stellar. First- took at least 10 minutes to get a drink at the bar at 5:30. Once seated the service as extremely slow. The food was very good.
Everything was great except the shrimp were kind of overcooked & dry! ☹️
We’d heard good things about Pappas Bros. but were a little skeptical about spending fine dining meal prices at what I perceived to be just another link in a chain of decent restaurants. Within minutes of walking inside and being seated, I knew we were in an establishment that held its own against or even surpassed the quality of the finest steakhouses in Houston.
The bread was fresh with a crispy crust and a warm doughy center. It tasted so good we didn’t even need butter. We shared crab cakes and corn chowder for the appetizer. Both were excellent.
My filet was done to perfection and the side dishes we had were amazing. The crab meat mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy and had impressive chunks of crab in it. The mashed potatoes came with scallions and bacon (!) on top and were terrific. The big surprise was the brussel sprouts. My wife said they were the best she’d ever had. Normally I refuse to eat them, but I begrudgingly tried them anyway. I was blown away!
We had the turtle pie for dessert. It was absolutely decadent.
If you’re in search of an amazing steak dinner, you’ll be glad you tried Pappas Bros.!
Excellent service, great menu selection and outstanding food....
Everything was fabulous, but I think the dinner salad is over priced for basically lettuce and tomato. The fact that they put two strips of bacon on the top does not warrant the high price.
We asked to be seated in a quiet area. We were taken to a back room and it was less noisy but still difficult to hear our conversation.
The waiter was awesome. He really knew the menu & described the food wonderfully.
The food was very delicious! Although it was tasty, it was extremely overpriced. We could have paid 1/3 of the price for the same dishes in a non-downtown location.
Overall good experience. Would I go again? Sure - if someone else paid!
Amazing wagyu and king crab legs!!!!!
Phenomenal across the board
Everything was great but was told that I would not be getting any reward points after spending 700.00 dollars there
Such great service! Definitely our go to place! The food is delicious.
Outstanding, as always. Meats cooked to perfection and an amazing wine list.
Very good experience and the mixed drinks are the best
I celebrated my birthday with my girlfriend. The food was fantastic and the waitstaff was top notch. At the end, our waiter threw a piece of cheesecake for dessert. While, we did not have it at the restaurant, when we took a bit out of it at home, it was delicious beyond this world. We promised we will go back just for dessert if we had to do so. Excellent experience all around.
The steak was too tough and fatty for the price. Not as good as Maestros but priced as high or higher.
Steak was perfect texture and taste. My waitress was very helpful. The bread will not help you with your diet. It is almost as thick and tasty as the steak! The Brussel sprouts had an amazing little zing to them. The scallops were very good as well. The bar selection was impressive too.
Best steak in town ! Restaurant is a bit too noisy for my liking but food makes up for it!
Steaks were not cooked to order and overall weren’t “amazing” they were just ho-hum. Service was phenomenal though
Very nice place...service was top notch and the food was spectacular. Definitely recommend and before Rockets game
The original Pappas Bro Steakhouse on Westheimer was my favorite until Vic & Anthony's came long. The steak was just that good at Vic & Anthony's that it unseated Pappa's Bro's as my favorite Steakhouse. Trust me when I say my favorite, I mean it. I have been all over Houston for steak, including the new Steak 48 and also The Number 13 Steakhouse in Galveston. While the new Steakhouses are good, they seem to be more along the lines of where to see and be seen rather than truly a great steak. This past Saturday's visit was by chance, as a trip we had planned to Sedona was cancelled at the last minute. We decided on Pappa's Bros and began our visit at the bar. Not only was the service outstanding, but the selection was also very good. We then went on to our dinner and started it with the Foie Gras which did not dissapoint! Let's skip to the steak...I had the 18 ounce Ribeye, which I ordered medium rare. It came out perfectly done and seasoned perfectly also! It was the best steak that I've had in quite some time! Again, the service was absolutely amazing! Thank you, for a great evening!
For an expensive steakhouse restaurant, there are definitely better options. When the waiter explained how they are all about the dry aged steaks, I was definitely expecting a better quality than the steak I received. When it came to the right temperature of the cook of my wife's steak, it came out wrong 3 times and it just delayed my food to be cold while we waited for her food to be cooked correctly. Maybe, the Galleria location would have been better, but overall would not go back to a Pappas Bros. Steakhouse Location for steaks.
Took 20 minutes to have our order taken.
We celebrated my birthday and had a great experience. The service was excellent and food was really good. Highly recommend the octopus as well as the branzino.
My waitress, Lily was great. She was attentive and the food was wonderful. Made for a great date night!
Phillip, our server, was attentive, cordial, and gave us excellent service.
Great experience all around. Pricey place but every aspect was worth it. Robert, our server, was very attentive to every detail and made great suggestions based on our likes.
Pappas Steakhouse is one of my favorite steakhouses in Houston. They have yet to disappoint me. It is always great food with great service.
Absolutely amazing! Visited today for my dad’s birthday and we got the 40oz porterhouse steak for two. Softest steak I’ve ever had. I’ve never had a porterhouse, I’m more of a rib eye girl and this one WOW’d me. For sides we got the potatoes au gratin, creamed spinach and the lump crab Mac and cheese. It was amazing!!! The potatoes au gratin were my absolute favorite. For desert we got the peach cobbler and I actually hate peach cobbler but I really liked the one at Pappas. Overall, everything was very delicious. Quick tip: make sure to make a reservation because at around 7pm it gets extremely packed. Also, men, don’t wear hats :)
Outstanding service, food and atmosphere! From the Seafood Tower to our steaks, the food was amazing. Our out of town guest were very happy and fell in love with Pappas Bros. Steakhouse.
Awesome food, and great service
This was my girlfriends first time coming to Pappas Bros. It certainly won’t be our last. Our waitress, Brittney, was phenomenal. Just the right amount of attention, at the perfect time.
We got the 40oz porterhouse for two, and it was cooked perfect. Couldn’t have asked for a better evening.
Great food, ambiance and service. Can’t wait till the next time!
My girlfriend and I visited Pappas Bros for the first time on valentines day and we had a great time! Our host/waiter Philip did a phenomenal job with suggesting wines and dishes, it being our first time.
Food was amazing but the waiter tried to make too many jokes and we sort of were afraid of what he would say next.
Valentine’s Day the service was great but our food was not the best . I had to send my back because it was too done, my husband’s steak was cooked good on one end but it was too raw when he got to the middle. The crab cakes tasted like they were from Cisco. Unfortunately I would say I probably would not go back to that location due to the issues we had with the food.
I do want to say the service was outstanding the atmosphere was good just the food was not worth the money we spent.
