Disappointed. We had reservations but waited 40 minutes to get seated. At 20 minutes I asked someone to get me a chair because my heals were killing me and the bar was full. Got a chair and kept having to remind the staff that we were still waiting for a table. Finally got seated and got seated in the bar area. There had been an Astros game so the people by the bar were very loud and my friend and I had trouble hearing each other speak. The attire was super casual, flip flops, shorts, there was even someone in pajamas. I was all dressed up and felt uncomfortable. I could have gone to a sports bar for this experience. The food was good but my steak was over cooked and the waitress was rushing so she only checked on us once. Very disappointed.
Food and service were outstanding. But get ready to spend a fortune. Will definitely go back - but will be a while.
We drive (3 hours) to Papa Bro’s for our anniversary every year. From the start the experience was amazing. Damarcus our water went above and beyond. A manager I assume came by several times to check on us. He talked tv shows with us. The food was great. First time having the lamb. It was cooked perfect. First time, having the brûlée vs cheesecake. I will get the Brûlée forever now.
Steaks were great. Seated very quickly. Server and experience was top notch as always. Those Brussel Sprouts are divine.
Amazing service and amazing food!!! The staff made our 5 year anniversary very special! We can’t wait to go back! Quick tip dont skip dessert!
We visit once a year for our anniversary. The quality has gone down significantly.
We will stick with other steak houses in the future.
Great dining experience but my wife and I agreed that Steak 48 was just slightly better tasting.
The food and service were excellent but it was very loud and hard to have a conversation.
First Time at Pappas steakhouse, we had couple cocktails great, had blue point oysters great, Turtle Gumbo and the other light lobster soup, filet large
filets on bone ( most tender steak i have ever had at medium well.
The service was frequent but we asked and they forgot bread, they didnt fill water well, they tried to take the substantial left overs without asking if we wanted to take them, didnt refill wine glases well. They didnts seem overerly busy
We did not complain or say anything
But we can say they comped a drink for fist visit, (we spent an a lot per head)
and comped Parking, which we tip well anyway
Will eat here again, 2 of the party said best steak ever, but they dont have my experience level at hi end steakhouses
Overall experience was very nice , absolutely would recommend.
Whenever traveling over to Texas this restaurant is a must.
They were great as usual! Food is always a hit! And service is always great!
Usually have really good food at this location. The food was salty last night. Great service overall.
The steaks were really good but the rest of the food did not stand out to us. We’ve had better.
The Pappas family’s commitment to excellent service and phenomenal food never ceases to amaze me. This is an excellent restaurant to enjoy a meal prior to any event in Downtown Houston.
James was the best. One of the best steaks that I ever had in Houston.
It was great, but it was way too loud in the room we were in.
Great meal and service. While we were seated at a table in a smaller area it was still difficult to hear the conversation at times.
The food, particularly the steak, was outstanding. One of the best I've had! I enjoyed the restaurant, but it was a little difficult to hear at times, the place was full and we were seated near the bar, which was a lively spot to be. Service was timely and spot on, all good, will make it a point to stop in again soon.
We had a party of 7 and requested a round table. We were seated at a round table. Our waiter promptly arrived for our drink order. The Pappa's Margarita was wonderful. It is made with a nice Blanco and has a spicy vanilla salted rim. Perfect! The others had wine and the selection was very nice. Fresh homemade, warm bread and a soft butter was served. The waiter explained all the specials and made his recommendations. All but one had steaks of some sort. The odd one out had the Salmon. The steaks were perfectly cooked. I had the filet and it was tender and very flavorful. The guest that had the Salmon said it was the best he has ever had. After dinner we ordered key lime pie and a chocolate explosion something or other. Both were absolutely divine. Our waiter was amazing. The whole experience was well worth the money. I will say that although it was nice having Valet (there is no convenient parking) having to pay a fee after spending the amount we just spent was a tad annoying. This should be a free service and/or the entire amount should go to the valet attendant, who by the way was great! But I would pay it again if that tells you anything.
Our server Jenelle (sp) was wonderful. Food is always what I expect it to be. Perfect.
Amazing food, service and ambiance!
Waiter was exceptional, food delicious. Too bad we had to wait more than 30 minutes for a reserved table, not expected at this level of service.
Always a must when I’m in Houston or Dallas. Service, food, ambiance… top notch.
Food is always amazing. Our waiter (Robert who is moving to the one on Westheimer) is absolutely outstanding. We usually go to the one on McKinney but will now switch to Westheimer due to Roberts excellent customer service.
Everything was truly amazing except as first time customers, we got seated in the corner where all the waiters pass by, food served to others and kitchen staff shouting. Also too, don’t ask us how old we are after we’ve already ordered drinks 10mins ago and you know clearly we’re spending well over $400 - $500 including tip for this experience.
I understand this person was in training but who is training you? Because the proper ask is “may I see your ID?” and that's asked well before the drinks are starting to be made.
Our waiter John was the best. My wife and I shared the bone in Ribeye. For some reason they cut it off the bone and sliced it. We aren’t 4 years old, I can cut my own steak. Isn’t that the first rule when eating steak? Don’t cut cut another man’s meat. This ruined it for me. I’m not spending $400 on this place again.
This was a great experience. My daughter and I had a beautiful evening we were in town from LA.
Fantastic meal. Love the dry aged ribeye and 4lb lobster
Always on point… food, service and ambiance!!
Very awesome meal before the E.C. Concert. Typically eat late but skipped lunch to have an early dinner and it was more than worth it. With hardly anyone there when we arrived, except an army of busy wait staff, it filled up to capacity in just a few minutes. The steak (10 oz. filet) was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. My wife had the lamb chops and they were equally as delicious. She let me have a small taste. What we really enjoyed were the brussels sprouts and creamed spinach. Hard to believe that I would prefer vegetables over meat but these were out of this world. The sprouts were braised in pork fat with lemon and soy. As Emeril would say, it must be a pork fat thing. We started with a shrimp cocktail, martini and wine. Their wine list is great. We found on it (iPad) one of our favorite Willamette Pinot Noirs. Overall Pappas is very pricey but we enjoyed the heck out of our experience there. Shout out to our excellent server Brennen.
This is a great restaurant. Lively, and fun but sophisticated. Great steaks and sides. Desserts are epic. This is very worthwhile!
We had a very enjoyable time. The steak was as good as I can ever remember having tasted before.
Delicious! Service was impeccable, food was outstanding!
Everything was delicious and great service
The food was good, but the aged steak wasn't anything more special than a standard prime ribeye. Very high priced.
We had an amazing Neal celebrating my husbands birthday. Wonderful food and wonderful service.
Great steak and phenomenal service!
Been here two times . Both times food and service was wonderful. Will return when in the area again
