Pappas Bros. Steakhouse - Downtown
We are minutes away from NRG Stadium, Toyota Center, George R. Brown Convention Center and Discovery Green.
As it is every time we have dined there our experience has been outstanding. Our daughter and son in law were amazed by their experience.
Server was great. The atmosphere was fantastic. Anyone who is looking for a steakhouse to go to for your anniversary like me and my girlfriend did should definitely give papa bro’s a try. You won’t regret it.
Sitting in the lounge/bar area is always great.
Hands down the best steakhouse I’ve ever had the pleasure of dining in by far. The service, food, and ambience were absolutely incredible and I can’t wait for another special occasion to give me an excuse to go back!
Visting from out of town and decided to try Pappas Brothers. Seated on time, service was excellent. Had dry aged rib eyes, crispy brussel sprouts, mountains of mashed potatoes. All cooked to perfection. Very impressed with the steaks, cooked exactly as requested and flavor was delicious. Prices in line with expectations. Great and attentive servers. Memorable dining experience.
The food was EXCELLENT, and the wine was even better!! Wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion.
Good food !!
Service was impeccable and food was great quality. Steaks were done to perfection and melted in my mouth. Server asked us to text for our preference on the amount of fineness before walking away. Glasses were filled consistently.
Phillip, our waiter was exceptional. He was attentive, courteous, and helpful. We had steak tomato, burrata and steakhouse salads. The burrata salad was the favorite. It was accompanied with yellow and red heirloom tomatoes, roasted beets and toast points on a bed of delicious citrus pesto. Crab cakes were small but well seasoned. The grilled octopus was a bit chewy, but it did not ruin the night. Brussels sprouts with pork belly were delicious. Everyone ordered ribeye steaks cooked to perfection. Cobbler and chocolate cake did not disappoint. The portions were large enough for sharing. Overall, great food, staff and experience.
Food and service were excellent! We have dinner a few times each year here.
The noise from the bar area was a bit loud as it carries over into the restaurant.
Always an amazing experience! The staff go above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect each time we visit.
Best wine list, food & service in Houston.
Always excellent service! Top notch food and staff is amazing.
Pappas Bros never disappoints. Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. Pricey but worth it.
Everything is great.
Pappas Bros. was Fabulous. Arrived 20 minutes early, welcomed & seated immediately. Kathy, our waitress, assisted us through the menu & her recommendations were Excellent! Filet & side choices were Divine. The complimentary dessert was a perfect culmination to my service anniversary celebration! Thanks Pappas Bros. Kathy & opentable.
Server was awesome. Food was fantastic. Drinks were tasty. Was a little disappointed our first round of drinks took quite awhile to arrive at our table. Open kitchen design made it a little noisy.
The food quality was simply too low. You can make up a lot with good service in a good setting. But, with this experience, I was left wondering how the ribeye and strips were $60.00+ values, as were the 3 people who joined me. The bacon-wrapped scallops also left 2 members of the party with grumbling innerds and that sweaty sense you get when you've consumed bad food. On a brighter note, the Malbec recommended by the waiter was exceptional, as were the desserts. They did the birthday greeting nicely, too. I will try the Westheimer location in a few weeks to see if this is a trend or merely a fluke.
Great steak and great food. Very expensive as dinner for two can easily top $200 plus. Our waiter was slow even after we told him we have a 8pm show that we need to make it to. We had to constantly chase him and had to order with manager food, order wine, order dessert, ask for a check. I think the waiter only got hot tea for my wife. The rest was a manager. Anyway we made it late to the show.
Another wonderful experience and evening at Pappas! Live this place - food was perfect and was a super start to our night!
Phenomenal food - steak, sides, desert - all highest quality, spotless service, great ambiance - all in all, fantastic value for the price.
Food was great as it consistently is. Our sommelier was Brandon, who did a great job in helping us select some great bottles. Anna in the bar area took great care of us before we were seated with our server Pedro, who also did a great job.
This place is definitely worth the price. The food is delicious, friendly and polite staff!! Simply the best 🙌🏼
New Years Eve
The food was awful. I dine at Pappas often and the food this time was terrible. The steak was chewy and overcooked. Very disappointed. It may be because it was NYE and everything was “mass produced”, but that’s no excuse honestly. We spent over $400 and it was not worth it. Never had a bad experience here before until now.
New Year’s Eve special menu. Most everything was very good but the salmon was not. All in all a great evening with one of the best Old Fashions in the city.
Excellent food and service
New Years. The waiter Adam was fantastic! Everybody was super friendly
Our second New Year's Eve dinner. A glitzy formal night with great food and service. Looking forward to next year 2021!
NYE prefix dinner. Absolutely amazing!
Food was fantastic and service was awesome. Not one complaint.
Great steak! The chef special was amazing
We had a great time, the food and service were both phenomenal.
We were sat in a smaller area to the left of the main sitting area that felt completely disconnected from the main restaurant ambiance. I’m not sure what decision goes into who gets the “small room” (there was plenty of empty tables on the main dining area). No effort was given to set the table with any details despite celebrating anniversary and them knowing. Steak (aged NY strip 16 oz) tasted good but under-seasoned. Sparkling water cups smelled like “eggs”. Had them changed.
Server kept water bottle away and did not make an effort to come by and top our glasses, had to ask twice.
Server on his rush to remove my plates dripped steak fat on my shirt 4 big spots. Nothing was done to make it right.
Overall we will not come back to this steakhouse nor can we recommend it. Steak 48, even Ruths or Perry’s is a better option.
Excellent food as always, service was impeccable. It made for a wonderful anniversary date.
STILL one of the best steakhouses in the country. Regardless of the occasion, the staff at Pappa’s can make it special. The sommelier is ready to assist but is never intrusive. The food from steaks to seafood is superb. Adam is attentive but fades easily into the background while still ready to assist when needed.
Dinner was fantastic. Samantha was an excellent server
Started out rocky, there were holiday parties that stayed over their time which pushed my reservation back, a lot. I was hangry and upset, the staff including manager was MORE than accommodating. Service was excellent, food was amazing. Definitely worth the wait. 100% recommend and will be back again!!
My wife and I went to Pappas Bros. to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant was crowded, but once we were seated, we had absolutely incredible service. The sommelier, Lindsay, made it a point to make our experience wonderful. While I've eaten at Pappas Bros. on many occasions, this one stands out. A truly remarkable dinner.
We had reservations and got seated 40 minutes late. I had requested a booth because someone with us had just had surgery. No booth so we sat at a table. I asked the waiter and 2 other bus people for more butter and did not get it until I reminded the waiter again that I had asked him and 2 others. We ordered a porterhouse steak and waiter recommend if we wanted medium to get medium well. The steak was almost well done.
