Papa Razzi - Framingham Ratings and Reviews
Went to Papa Razzi for a pre-theater meal. The hostess was able to seat our party of 6 promptly at a nice table. We informed the waitress that we were on a tight schedule and she made sure that our orders were taken quickly and served promptly. Three of us had the Bolognese which is always great and the others had ravioli. One person who had the ravioli special thought it was a little too sweet for her liking but everyone else enjoyed their meal.
I recommend Papa Razzi for a nice meal out at a restaurant that presents itself as being more upscale than it's menu prices reflect. So its a nice place to eat without a hefty tab.
First time at Paparazzi. We each had salads, they were very good. I ordered the Rigatoni, it was ok, not much flavor to it, salt helped. Friend ordered the risotto with asparagus, they forgot the asparagus, the risotto was very good though. The waiter took forever with our drinks. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I mean $17 for pasta? Maybe if it was handmade in the kitchen.
We had a great time at Pappa Razzi on Monday night. They are running a super nice special, so our meals were extremely reasonable. The kitchen was incredibly accommodating of all the various dietary needs at the table. We will be going back!
My favorites included the beef carpaccio, and the filet balsamico. My biggest disappointment was being told about a special ordering it and having the waiter come back to tell that the could no longer serve it. Others especially liked the Panna Cotta with passion fruit sauce.
I have been to Pappa Razzi a few times and IMHO, it is well above what you typically get at chains. Our dinner started with great fresh bread and a great shrimp appetizer. For our entrees I had the Veal Shank Special which was delicious and my wife had the Chicken Picatta. Desert was a great lemon flavored cake which we loved. The service by Mary was top notch, professional!
We stayed simple... Caesar salad, Beef Carpaccio, Grilled Chicken. The chow was very good and served nicely. I've noticed on recent visits the veggies on the grilled chicken were very sparse... would suggest they serve a more reasonable portion. My Stella on tap was almost flat... replaced with a perfect Stella.
Everything was great until we left. I went with my wife, brother, and his girlfriend. My brother and I each gave a credit card to split the bill in half. We failed to check the receipt. When my brother got home he noticed they had charged the entire bill to his card. They also charged half the bill to my card. When you go there just check your bill before you leave.
Food and service was outstanding. We were celebrating a birthday for my 93 year old dad and they made him feel very special. Veal and steaks were some of the best we've had. Half Caesar salads were also good and large. Waitress made an effort to have me pick out a bday dessert without anyone seeing. It was sent over "on the house" which was lovely.
We had a really nice meal here. The food was wonderful; I had the grilled shrimp and linguine special and my wife had ravioli with house red sauce. Our waitress Mary was awesome, she was attentive without ever being distracting. We even had dessert and coffee, something we rarely do. It made an ordinary dinner out a special evening.
Great service and delicious, consistent dishes bring us back again and again. We love the atmosphere and the fact that the kitchen is so willing to customize dishes to suit the diners' needs. We had a nice table for our large group, and the service was excellent from start to finish.
Delightful weeknight meal -- dinner salads, carpaccio, filet balsamico all cooked to perfection and complimented nicely with their house red wine. This wine is smooth and suits my palate better than the super Tuscan on the wine list. We eat here fairly often and never disappointed. Very accommodating kitchen when special diets are required. Highly recommend a very competent, well-trained, professional staff. A good value restaurant we enjoy more than some higher priced Italian restaurants in the area. Food and service consistent at all locations.
The restaurant has a good kids menu and the pasta is a favorite of our two granddaughters. My wife had a chicken dish which was ok, a bit bland. The dish was supposed to be served with red bliss potatoes but instead came out with ziti. Not having remembered my wife asked our server if the dish was supposed to be served with pasta and she said yes! My veal parmigiana with linguini was fine and I enjoyed it. I ordered a cappuccino to finish off the meal but it arrived barely luke warm and had to be redone by my waitress. Overall our experience was a bit disappointing.
Papa Razzi has been one of our go to restaurants, I don't know if it was an off night or a change in business. I recognize the small differences, I had the swordfish special and could tell that it was part of portion control and the bar drinks have changed some what to tighter pour control.
Other higher end franchised restaurants have also started this trend. Some people do not mind it I guess, but I like fresh cooked portions and hand poured drinks. That being said we still had a good meal and the staff is very nice.
Overall experience was very good. The food was very good, well presented, creative and plentiful. I usually have bad experiences at restaurants. I am in the food industry and typically prepare dinners much better then most restaurants and at a fraction of the cost. We were celebrating our 31st Wedding Anniversary, so going out for dinner was special. I was happy we chose Papa Razzi's. My wife and I split the Antipasto, Lobster Tortellini and Veal Scallopini . There was plenty of food. The server was pleasant and attentive. She brought the split entrees on separate plates starting with the pasta course and them the Veal, which added a classy touch. We ended with a nice piece of Tiramisu, which they graciously comped to congratulated our milestone. The only downfall was my cocktail, Maker's Mark Summer. It was very expensive for the size of the drink. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and will frequent in the future.
