Thanksgiving dinner was moved to Del Marr race track
Excellent menu and great service.
We were there on a Saturday evening. We would not go back on a Saturday evening. It was very crowded, very loud, poor service and marginal food.
Want to add that we have been there on other days of the week for dinner and we were very satisfied.
Kris as awesome as usual! Another great evening at the Mousse!
Chris is an amazingly server.
She is the very best
The bison was excellent and would hughly recommend. This is a busy location and the noise level was high. Service was excellent thiugh bring your own wine as it is overpriced for yhe quality
I enjoy Pamplemousse for several reasons. First of all, the booths are really comfortable and relaxing. Second, the servers are well-trained and professional. The best reason is the menu and the quality of the food. Many places have good food but the menu is a key reason I return. The menu is broad and extremely flexible. I can mix and match what meat, vegetables, and starch I want or don’t want. I had filet mignon with bernaise sauce and both mixed vegetables and white corn. The filet was tasty and the vegetables were not overdone. I’m always happy going back to Pamplemousse.
The food is Wonderful and consistently Great
Its Amazing how Jeffrey Strauss has been able to maintain
the highest quality food/ restaurant for so many years Kudos to
him and the awesome staff
The food and service was phenomenal!!!!
A tremendous food and adult beverage experience. I have Not been here in a few years as i moved “farther afield.” Lucky night to be here with the special Black Truffle Tasting Menu or items could be ordered as individual small plates. Which we did! Then, Shared a fabulous special prep entree of John Dory this night...great! Then, of course, dessert. Shared the five taste sample of dessert and individual cappuccinos. All WOW! Our wait person Leonard (my friends call me Eric 🤷♀️) was truly exceptional and fun. A great night for my sister and i to share a boojie food/bev evening. GO, make a ressy or not
Always outstanding and a pleasure to invite friends to have a wonderful gastronomic experience
The food was, as always, amazing. My friend and I ordered identical items and neither of us were disappointed. The wine list is comprehensive and although our server was very attentive he clearly was a smoker as we could smell strong cigarette smells each and every time he came to our table. At such a nice establishment we would have expected better. Nonetheless an incredible dinner!
It was San Diego restaurant week! There was a price fixed menu that had an excellent selection.
I had the lobster ravioli that was fantastic! I will definitely be back.
Wonderful as always with this restaurant!!
I am never disappointed in this restaurant.
I hope California changes the rules on foies gras which I miss!!
It was one of the least memorable visits we had at Pamplemousse. The Restaurant Week prix fixe $60 menu was just ok.
Our waiter forgot our complementary pallet cleanser (grapefruit sorbet). Even though we were celebrating both a birthday & anniversary, all we were treated to was a candle on our paid desserts!
Thanks Pamplemousse for going all out!
Will take quite some time to erase this bad memory from our minds.
Everything was perfect...as always. Ty
I was disappointed. Not what I remember from dining here in the past. Nothing was special- very average. Especially the apple tart- bland, soggy and not very flavorful. I was so looking forward to this dinner as it’s been awhile since I’ve dined here. Too bad- used to be a very special experience
One of our greatest dining experiences ever!
HADN NOT BEEN TO PAMPLEMOUS FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS AND WE ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH! FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AS WAS OUR SERVER!! OUR ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE IT WAS RESTAURANT WEEK AND WE SPENT OVER $100 PER PERSON!!
It was restaurant week very weak effort by the chef
Huge, flavorful, and plentiful chunks of lobster in both the lobster ravioli and the lobster rice! Awesome. Attentive friendly, unobtrusive service. We were there on Monday during Restaurant Week, 5:00 arrival, and it was very quiet. By the time we left, it had picked up a bit. We'll return for another meal, soon.
We were at the restaurant to celebrate two birthdays. As usual the food and the experience were great
The smoked salmon salad in particular was just delicious.
always delicious. warm and welcoming. I just booked our holiday luncheon here for December.
Solid restaurant. Quiet, one can actually have a conversation. Most comprehensive wine list in San Diego.
Celebrating my sons birthday at one of his favorite restaurants, great service, food so good, our waiter very kind to my grandchildren. We thank all!
Pamplemousse has changed from a French Country style restaurant with classic dishes (Cassoulet being one...) to a menu featuring mostly Asian fusion with only a few French dishes. The food was good - but not memorable or outstanding. The Happy Hour is a better bet than the $$$$ dinner.
Extraordinary dinner with all the fine attention to the details which made it a dining 🚀 EXPERIENCE:
- attentive service without being overbearing
- artistic presentation
Fabulous as always. One of our favorite places for dinner!!
Had a wonderful dinner at Pamplemousse Grille on Sunday evening with friends. Waiter Dave was great, specials were interesting - hubby had the Paella which he loved. Other menu items terrific. Will be back soon.
Restaurant is good but I found it to be rather ridiculously expensive so think I would not go back or suggest to friends....too rich for my blood
We hadn’t been in 7 years. So much looked forward to returning. We consider Jeffrey Strauss’ restaurant one of the finest in the world. From the maitre d accommodating us with our early arrival to our wonderful waiter to the exquisite food, everything was as wonderful as we remembered it to be. This is another to be missed experience if you are in the San Diego/LaCosta area
I cannot remember if I’ve ever seen Pamplemousse as packed as it was this night. I had forgotten we were still in racing season. I mention this because the food and service were still tremendous. To have the place be this busy, this swamped with customers, and still be phenomenal is a testament to how special this restaurant is. John is always wonderful. Nairee is gracious. Cris remembers me even when she’s speeding. Illias says hi quickly because everyone is busy, but still extremely kind and solicitous. This is a place that cares about its patrons. They care that you return. They care that you have a tremendous experience. I love Pamplemousse even if Jeffery Strauss doesn’t remember that I’m a long time patron. Or that I told him his restaurant is better than Michael Minna’s even with Stephan Curry as a patron. Pamplemousse is my home away from home. Especially the big bar table! Great cosmos and grapefruit martinis!
Fabulous dinner and service. Highly recommend. make sure to make reservations. Never rushed. Full explanations of items.
Service was not great. Our waiter felt uninformed and unsophisticated to me, his table side manner was not great and he was not attentive. There were 10-15 minute lapses in his attention to the table.
The finest food and the best service in San Diego. Top quality sashimi all the way through wagyu beef. They didn’t miss a detail and the wine suggestion was top notch.
Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
