Outstanding meal outside under the tent and our server Shane was incredibly kind and gracious. Solid choices for children as well. Exceptional cocktails and wine list. Definitely recommended for a lovely dinner after a day at the races.
A very unique menu, creative and outstanding. Service was excellent. Definitely a must when In Del Mar
We were so disappointed. We came especially for the Sunday spaghetti and meatballs, but they aren’t doing it anymore, so we left
Absolutely wonderful Everything done to perfection Starting with the complimentary assorted breads and muffins and specially topped butter to the complimentary cookie. This restaurant is the tops. My pork chop was done to perfection with delicious truffle mashed potatoes and fresh corn. You can pick from an assortment of meats and there is a list of starches and veggies you can add to your plate , no extra charge. I feel the restaurant is priced especially reasonable for all that you get. Very impressed!
Great service and wonderful food. Consistently the top restaurant in San Diego.
An epicurean delight! From the Lobster grilled cheese appetizer, to the Bison Steak, everything was cooked to perfection. The service was extremely attentive to all our needs from drinks to water.
Oysters on the half shell, lobster avocado pamplemousse salad and mixed grill meats were all delicious, well prepared and well presented. Doughnuts with dipping sauces were delightful.
Great experience! Amazing food! We loved our black Pearl caviar, Kobe wagyu and Maine lobster. John was very welcoming and professional! He recommended a robust, flavorful french red wine to pair with our steak. Will come back!
The oysters were amazingly fresh. The lobster ravioli was outstanding, as was the bone in ribeye -cooked perfectly medium rare. For dessert we had two orders of the salted caramels which were to die for.
Worst restaurant experience in many years. We are exactly the clientele they should be attempting to attract. Seated us at table in the middle of the floor even though there were multiple open quieter tables on the side that they clearly were saving for “regulars.” Too many (unfilled) seats both outside and inside (doubling capacity) but not enough kitchen staff or waiters (plenty of bus staff). Food was slow and ok but nothing special. Salmon entree had had a salt shaker dumped on it. In the face of repeated sensible complaints, the wait stuff genuinely apologized snd acknowledged the situation. Management, however, were snooty, aloof and essentially gave up on us. Worse, the back slapping owner who mauraded from table to table conspicuously was sure to avoid ours. Clientele mostly disproportionately aged - didn’t get the sense they were filling with the 50’s crowd as opposed to the 80’s crowd - and apparently some horse racing types as the track is across the street. Maybe this place once was great - but if so, they clearly are resting off past laurels and it shows abysmally in the service in particular. Over-extended waiters. Slow food. And management that is in critical denial and living in yester-year. We eat out frequently at high end restaurants and basically never write scathing reviews. But it would be unconscionable to not let other potential diners be aware to avoid at all costs.
Food and services was outstanding! We were celebrating a birthday for my wife and she couldn't have been happier. Highly recommend.
One of the best dining experiences in the San Diego area. Highly recommend for a nice evening out. The food and the service are always top notch here.
Food and service were excellent. So many menu choices is was difficult to pick a favorite.
A bit difficult to find the restaurant entrance.
Excellent food, and very reasonable prices given the quality. Service was excellent as well.
Excellent service and offerings. A large selection….all outstanding.
Always a pleasure to dine here. The food is excellent. I never go home with a happy tummy and smile on my face!
Great food. Great service. Wonderful restaurant. Bring your appetite and a thick wallet.
a great evening food was outstanding with a great variety of choices Service was excellent, professional and helpful. Although it is an fine dining the restaurant prices were comparable or favorable compared to other fine dinning experiences.
Disappointed. Went for a 51st anniversary dinner. Not as elegant and quiet as I remembered from years ago. Food is expensive and not worth the price. Would not go back.
Excellent food and staff! Well be back again and again.
Haven't been here in many years. The food is still, in my opinion, the best in San Diego County. My venison chop was the best venison I have ever had. Each dish (including the rolls) were exceptional bordering on religious experience. The cocktails are truly craft and exceptional as well. My smoky based cocktail had smoky simple syrup made on the premises and very skillful muddling. Had to have two of them. My only complaint about ambience is mostly you could only hear a monotonous bass line. Too clubby for my taste.
The service the food was great. The portions are large and could easily be shares. The lobster ravioli, the sashimi trio, Cesar Salas with white anchovies and grilled pork chop were all excellent.
Excellent food and service. Best wine list in San Diego County.
Decadent dining experience. Presentation and flavors are impeccable. Great service. From cocktails to dessert, everything was wonderful. Try the pamplemousse martini, sashimi trio, bison entree, banana foster and lemon tarte!
The only tiny issue we had was the closeness of tables so that we could hear every word of conversation at the next table. That is what accounts for one star less for ambience and noise level. Otherwise, the food was heavenly and the service was impeccable! We will highly recommend it!
Excellent all around!
Top quality! Highly recommend sea bass. A little bit pricey. But worth the price.
Very loud group next to us celebrating birthday. Ruined a special dinner ridiculously expensive wine list.
Fabulous , one of favorite places to eat .
Always outstanding!! Food was amazing, drinks were delish, service was impeccable...
Date night with my wife. The Lobster Avocado Salad was perfect, my Ribeye special perfect and my wife’s Salmon was above average. Service was excellent.
This was our first dine-in experience this year. Nice to get back to normal. Nice
to see the quality and good food has been maintained.
Jerry was excellent as well as all the waitstaff
We went for the lobsta' and truffle grilled cheese sandwich for my birthday, and delighted in so many other extravagances...great price for the Nickel & Nickel bottle of Cab and Jonathan's service was impeccable. A great journey with great friends and outstanding food, and a sweet compliment from the chef about my age!
What a completely fulfilling and joy-full experience!
absolutely perfect night for 2 people in love. We enjoyed every moment. The food excellent...as always. Alexis was out server and she was great. We are going back for fathers day and that was my love's choice. He just loved it and so did I.
Another amazing meal and great service. We are lucky to have this great restaurant in our area...
Pamplemousse never disappoints. Always a 5 star experience. Our meals were incredible. The ambiance was beautiful, intimate, and relaxing. Our party of four had a wonderful evening. Jeffrey Strauss is masterful👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
