Our most recent visit to Pampas was disappointing. The food was dry and tasteless; the prices were higher than ever. I think it's time for a new restaurant destination.
After accepting a 8 pm reservation, they rushed us out and did not have all the meets
Worst yet, the picanha was not properly made ( no fat cap).
Meat and salad bar quality has gone down since our last visit. For the price, we expected a little bit more. The place wasn’t even crowded. Espetus is still the best.
They didn't have the normal menu on Valentine's day and only had a special meal that ended up being $100/person and was very bad. Definitely felt like they were taking advantage of the day since we were sort of trapped because all the other restaurants were full. The meat was ok like a 6.5/10 but everything else was awful
Took wifey for her first for Valentines dinner here. The food was delicious. A lot of premium meats and good side dishes. The service was excellent and attentive. Definitely going to take her here again since she liked it.
Second time being there and both experiences were great. The service was amazing and the people were very polite.
Most of the meats were overcooked. They were well done at best. The side dishes were lacking in flavor and were on par with a Chili’s Restaurant. The seating was awkwardly arranged and walking thru tightly spaced tables to get to the food bar was in poor taste. The only saving grace was that our waiter was a class act. I would not return.
The food was delicious. The servers were great. Loved it!
Horrible service. We weren’t served until after our waiter realized they didn’t give us the “all you can eat” sign. Wait staff didn’t come back to refill drinks. I had to flag someone down several times throughout dinner. I would not dine here again.
This is the 2nd time we've dined at Pampas. The first was our 7th wedding anniversary and loved it so much we wanted to share it with our family and friends. So it was no question that our next big family event (my husband's 40th) would be at Pampas. The service was great! Our server made sure we were taken care of and it felt extra special. Our food was delicious and our family enjoyed everything! The sidebar always had delicious options. I can't wait for our next future visit!
It took 25 mins for someone to come around to our table with any meat even when I told them we were celebrating a birthday. The salad bar quality has gone WAY DOWN over the last 5 years but the price still is very expensive. I will not be dining at this restaurant ever again!
Went to Pampas for dinner with another couple and to celebrate a birthday. Server was attentive at first then disappeared. Had to keep asking someone to fetch him for cocktails, clearing table, dessert, check. And as well first 2 cuts of meat were flavorful and moist then that went downhill and all others were dry and overcooked. Definitely not worth a $450.
Both kids fell asleep so bottomless meat was extra delicious
A lovely ambiance, but the quality of the meats seems to have slipped. Of the many skewers that came around, it's hard for me to identify any that I thought were anywhere near "delicious". Underseasoned, overseasoned, a bit too gamey in some cases, not as good as I remember when the place first opened. The salad bar is still OK, though cold soups are now gone, which is a shame.
Wonderful Experience we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening
Good selection, but some meat was more chewy and sinewy than the same cuts at other steakhouses, especially for $58 per person. Service was excellent.
My sister from another Mother wanted some tasty tasty meat sweats so my hubs, my bestie and I went with her for dinner at Pampas. We all love this restaurant. Especially when they ask you what you want (bestie wanted chicken hearts, I wanted chorizo - we both wanted grilled pineapple).
Our servers were ready to indulge our jovial attitude as well as our need to eat all the picahna we could fit in our mouths. It was tremendous fun!
Great food, excellent service, certainly expensive, but the food experience is very good.
We had a reservation but were seated upstairs... a brightly lit room upstairs with absolutely no ambience or decoration. Our servers were excellent! The salad bar was nothing special. The skirt steak, tri tip, and fillet were my favorites. I would not return.
Waiter was super slow.
We were upstairs and the servers didn’t seem to remember we were there. The food was good but there was no real effort to make the birthday boy feel special. Also with 20% mandatory service charge and Palo Alto assessment it seemed that tax should be taken before that was added.
Pampas had dry meat, and mediocre service. We spent more than 300 dollars and i would never go there again...it was four of us.
It was a very quiet night, which means yes it’s quiet but also that because of the concept of Brazilian steakhouse, the meat was not circulating as much. So we had gaps of almost 20 minutes between two servings, and the waiters were not generously offering more than one slice at a time.
The meat was not as good as other places in the bay with filet mignon always coated with something... looses interest. Not sure I will go the extra mile for that place again.
They easily accommodated our group on short notice, and everyone enjoyed both the food and the ambiance.
Flashing lights to get us out. Rushing food to table. Not a great experience at all
It’s our family tradition to go to Pampas for My husband’s birthday. He loves it.
Fabulous meal, we enjoyed it very much. The salad bar was amazing and the meat was perfect.
Less than friendly staff.
I had made a request prior to our arrival and was completely disregarded.
Food was great, but would consider other options in the future.
Very relax atmosphere and the waiter serve great, the servers always introduce the food details and the meat are very delicious, definitely will visit again.
I was surprisingly disappointed in my visit at Pampas. We started the evening with happy hour at the bar before dinner. Here's a quick summary of our evening:
Wine = OK
Beer (tap and bottle) = room temp, not chilled at all
Cheese Bread and Fried Bananas = Good
Rodizio Salad Bar = Sub-par
Meat Selection = Not many options offered for dinner; Chicken heart and sausage only offered as requested; flavor was OK
Ambiance = Quiet; not many dining on a Thursday evening
Service = Great! Waiters were friendly and attentive
Overall Review: Having been to a few brazilian steakhouses, this is by far my least favorite. I would recommend trying other brazilian steakhouses before Pampas.
Pamaps is always a wonderful meal; a temple of meat in which to worship. The food is fantastic and the Caipirinha is a must. Take your time when you come here, and go for the unlimited Rodizio. This gives you the best opportunity to sample a little bit of everything. Bring your appetite!
The amount of clientele on a Saturday night gave me a hunch walking in the spot wasn't what it used to be, and the delayed welcome from the hostess after taking more than 5 steps in her unoccupied direction confirmed. Waitress was pleasant and cordial, offering but not overly attending. Seems there was a bit of a scuffle of patrons before we sat day, hearing the manager apologize profusely. I didn't want to know. My beloved and I were there for celebrating our anniversary- announced when I set the reservation- and while the table next to us got multiple congratulations for their milestone, we did not. The last note to commend is a age old pearl of widsom... don't expect great seafood from a steakhouse. Paella and lobster included.
Perfect celebration spot for my brother’s birthday. Great food! Honest & helpful staff who allowed us to take our time & helped us to celebrate when our waiter learned why we were there.
Our server never returned for drink refills. Not sure why they wouldn’t want to sell more wine/beer. Probably took 30 minutes to get first drink. This was on a Wednesday evening and it wasn’t busy at all.
I believe the meat proportions were less than desired considering the price tag.
I was seated as soon as I arrived. They explained to first timer how it works. They advises us if we find a meat we like to tell them and enjoy our dinner.
This is not Brazilian food. It’s an all you can eat meat indeed. But not Brazilian sauce.
