Palomino - Bellevue
I decided to book this for my Wife's Birthday as something different that we haven't been to. I made reservations and special requests and Pierre (hopefully I spelled that right) was very kind and accommodating in making it as seamless as possible. I appreciate everything the staff did to make us feel comfortable and I appreciate it all around. She especially enjoyed her dish and liked the scallops within her dish overall above everything and she's curious to try some other dishes for our next visit.
We'll definitely be back for the future.
The first time my family and I came here this restaurant was great. This time the whole atmosphere to the food was very disappointing. When we first came in they couldn't find our reservation, but they managed to seat us anyway. The second problem was our server she seemed nice but after giving us water she disappeared and didn't come back to our table at all. We were waiting for 15 minutes and then another server comes up and tells us she had an issue and was talking to the manager and then she went on break. After that we ended up with a new server named Jonathan and he was really nice but everything became very awkward. We then placed our order waitied 20 minutes or more before the food came out we saw our orginial server but she only helped the table behind us and sat other tables never once looking at us or acknowledging our presence again. The manager came by after seeing us there waiting with nothing to eat, no offerong of bread or butter on the table as before, and asked if anyone took our order but that was all. When the food came out the steak my daughter had was bland and a little tough but she chose to keep it, my son's burger was good and my pizza was just ok this time. The tiramisu had way too much alcohol in it for desert and we sent it back. For as much as I spent which was over 100 for the food with appetizers this was a let down. This was my son's first time and most likely the last time. The only bright spot was the second server Jonathan other than that it will be a very long time before I reconsider this restaurant again.
We arrived early for our reservation, and enjoyed a drink in the Bar. My Scratch Margarita was excellent and the Truffled Matchstick fries were outstanding. We moved on to the Dining Room for our dinner. Both my husband and I were extremely pleased with our dinner entrees. I loved my Braised Lamb Shank and the Steak with Frites was perfectly prepared. We always look forward to our next lunch/dinner at Palomino.
Our waitress, Hannah, was delightful. The only criticism I have is that I have dined several times at the Seattle Downtown restaurant and found that the pasta bolognese was not as good at the Bellevue restaurant. It needed more spice and more sausage. It seemed like there was way too much pasta. I'd also like to see a 9-ounce wine pour, if only for your house wines.
We made reservations for New Year's Eve for a group of 11 at 8pm. Their website specifically said NYE hours were from 11am to 11pm. Well a few of our party arrived at 8:05pm, and the front doors were locked. Was odd. Then my husband went to order a 2nd drink and the bartenders said no, they were closed and not making mixed drinks (but could be bothered to pour beer or wine). It was extremely disappointing. Our server made best of it he could, but we will not return based on this experience. It was extremely unprofessional. I had called twice about our reservation and spoke to people and not once did they say our reservation was at time of closing.
We’ve been here a few times but hadn’t been in quite some time. Our son gave us gift cards as a gift so we were looking forward to coming back. The food was great! We had the “Crispy” caprese appetizer, which is a great mash up of cheese sticks and a caprese salad. The Caesar salads were a good size but could have used a bit more dressing. I ordered from the specials menu getting the Copper River Salmon Oscar. I ate every last bit! My husband ordered the Fettuccine Frutti du Mare and enjoyed it as well.
Now for the service. Our waitress was not very attentive. We did say we weren’t in a hurry and didn’t want our food coming out rapid fire. But we also didn’t think we had to ask for the complimentary bread, but we did. The water glasses were empty for quite a while after the initial fill. We didn’t really see any bus people moving around the room. The kicker was when our entrees arrived. We had used both our forks for the app and salad so we asked for forks. Our waitress went to get them right away but walked right past us and over to a table next to ours. She wasn’t there long, but the fact was we had our entrees sitting in front of us and no way to eat them. We just sat there and stared at her while she answered questions, then came over to I’ve us our forks. Not cool!
We will go back with the hope this was a fluke in mediocre service.
Disappointed as the host refused to acknowledge our open table reservation and had us sit in the bar. Service was a disappointment yet food was good.
Palomino is one of our favorite restaurants! They were kind enough to be open on Christmas Day, when most other places were closed. This is always our “go to” restaurant because food is great, location is perfect, and it just feels like home.
It was fairly pleasant overall. Our second waitress made it a better experience when we asked to switch to a different table. She was very sweet and engaging.
It was Christmas. We understood it would understaffed. Waited patiently. Service was poor. Food was just as bad. I always found the food/ambiance in the bar wonderful... however, have found the exact opposite in the dining room. I wrote the restaurant twice last time after a bad experience, expecting a reply. One was online, another typed and sent along with my phone number. I had brought my family from out of state, nine of us. Again No reply. Poor management?
The waitress did not return my gift card with money left on it. Unable to find her.
I decided to try it again a year and a half later. Palamino in downtown Seattle is a delight. NOT in Bellevue, plus, as it seems they could care less. Used to be my favorite restaurant.
The calamari was hardly edible.
My son did love his prime rib. The rest of our meals were so/so.
Our table was a booth in a very noisy spot. There were many open seats, close to windows and views of Christmas decor.
Sad. So many other spots to eat. I do not recommend this one! ☹️
We came on Christmas for a late lunch. The whole restaurant + bar were booked out with reservations - glad we had one as they were turning people away. The menu was limited due to the Holiday but the choices were varied and we all found more than one something we wanted. Everything was fresh, delicious, and service was swift. The Vanilla Brussels Sprouts were AMAZING! I highly recommend this place.
All entrees were average to slightly below, especially at this price point. Salmon was dry and tasted very fishy. We ordered wine and had to pour the remainder on our own. Our appetizer and salad were good but unfortunately the remainder of the meal was not. This was a holiday but with the limited menu we would have expected much higher quality.
I called the restaurant and was told that it was sold out for the evening. I went online and booked a table through open table for 745. We showed up at 7:30 and we’re seated, no problem. The restaurant was virtually empty. The reception staff was excellent, the wait person was excellent. The food was good but not exceptional.
4 of us went for Christmas eve dinner. My wife and I arrived early and sat in the bar to watch the holiday parade outside. Great drinks! I had the blueberry vodka "smashed blueberry" and it was excellent.
When my son and his wife showed up we moved into the dining room. The only (somewhat) low point was the limited holiday menu. Having said that I had the prime rib and it was excellent as were the Parmesan potatoes. the only reason my review isnt all five stars is the limited menu. There are many dishes on the regular menu that I would have loved to have been able to chose from.
All in all you cant go wrong going here.
Our server, Luis was AMAZING!!! He was attentive, funny and very engaging!
Food was fabulous as always. Noise level was very high, a lot of young children, but it was Christmas Eve! Johnny our server was wonderful.
We were grateful that they were open Christmas Eve but they shouldn’t be if not prepared or staffed properly, which seemed to be the case. Table next to us was upset because their food was over hour late. I was disappointed to find a limited holiday menu, there was no indication of that on the website. I had to just settle on a salad and my husband had to settle on something he didn’t really want either. My husbands soft drink never came, had to ask for it. Took 10 min to get water and a waiter. And waiter said nothing could do about limited menu. Never saw a manger come and apologize to anyone. It was a total disappointment. We’ve always had great food and great service and the downtown Palomino so suffice to say we won’t be going back to Bellevue location.
We made last minute reservation for dinner. Their Holiday Menu was understandably limited. Crab and artichote dip was good. Scallops were a bit tasteless with a rather heavy almond crust. Risotto was excellent and saved the dish. The prime rib was not great, very disappointing. But the tiramisu dessert was a hit. Although we were disappointed with the food, the staff was very attentive and made the visit worthwhile. We will be back for sure.
Great server but slow service. Very patient with babies and kids. Artichoke and crab dip is great, pizzas are OK
Half of my party didn’t get to enjoy the experience of palominos as there was a parade that blocked off all of the streets of Bellevue just before our reservation arrival time. It’s most unfortunate that nobody let us know this information… there was a lot of frustration...A phone call would’ve really been nice
We love coming to Palomino! The service and food never disappoints. Our waiter was on top of it!
The Palimino went above and beyond to accommodate our large table of 18 on a crazy, busy, night. Our server was amazing!!!
Food was excellent. Hubby said his filet mignon was the best he has had in a long time. My shrimp scampi was also excellent.
Food took forever and was bland. Beer was flat. Good grief what a bust.
Snowflake Lane with young, Grandsons
Very accommodating when we found ourselves in the middle of snowflake lane. Took great care of us
Busy night and seemed to be understaffed. Our reservation was 30+ minutes late. Took an hour to get food and it was cold. The plus side is they comped our first round of drinks and took 1/2 off of the appetizers.
Pierre (host) and Justin (server) we both amazing! The salmon + kale I had was tasty! The food is a bit pricey.
Portions extremely small for a pasta salad, bread pudding wasn’t flavorful, the pasta is overpriced for such a small portion, the salads were good. Overall your spending a lot of money for an anticlimactic meal. I wasn’t impressed seems like it’s not as upscaled.
After years of eating here for a Christmas season meal, I was so disappointed by our recent visit. Starting with our table not being ready, to extremely slow, unfriendly, service, having to ask multiple times for simple things like butter and water, a nearly inedible steak (seriously, it was the strangest kind of chewey), and being charged 21.00 for my child’s special order (but easy as hell) noodles and marinara. We had been looking forward to this festive meal and were totally disappointed. We’ll be finding a new favorite in Bellevue for our special holiday meal.
It took us areally really long time to get food. But it was good.
I would not recommend this restaurant for children. We ordered spaghetti from children's menu for our six year old. It came in a bowl with very long strands. We replated it ourselves and cut it up into manageable bites for the child. What were they thinking? Restaurant is very noisy. We could not have a conversation
Service was really slow
We had a terrible experience at Palomino's this Friday for lunch. I had booked a table in what I hoped would be the restaurant through OpenTable but was told to find a seat in the bar area. There was a huge delay with our order and then once ordered for the food to arrive. About 50 minutes in total. It was not busy. Then the host had a huge argument with a customer, with raised voices which took us all by surprise and worried us. I do believe the customer was very rude to the host, so in some ways I don't blame him for feeling attacked, but overall with everything else taken in to consideration, this was not a good experience.
Waiter specifically asked us if we were under time constraint and our food never came out. We had to flag the hostess and she got our food. We did not meet our allotted time constraint. Not my typical service experience at this restaurant so I was disappointed.
We've enjoyed Palomino's for many years especially downtown Seattle. Love to dine in the bar, wonderful servers help us get to the theater every time!
Food was not anything special and boring ambiance.
The pizzas were absolutely terrible - - NO sauce, No toppings, No cheese. ALL BREAD. We paid over $25.00 for bread The crust was 3 inches wide !!!
Our host and waiter were professional, friendly and prompt.
It seemed like having one or two wait staff out took a major toll on their service. Probably the worst I've ever had at this place, and I come a lot.
