This was our first visit and it will not be our last. Excellent food!! We were with a party of 10 and the service was still fantastic.
our waiter was excellent, friendly & provided our group with wonderful customer service!!!
Terrific food and outstanding service! Comfortable environment and friendly staff.
Great place overall! The decor and ambience was nice. Went for lunch during restaurant week and thought the portion size was great and a good value. I will definitely come back here soon.
We dined at Paloma Blanca at noon during San Antonio restaurant week just to try a new dining experience. Parking is almost non existent for patrons of the restaurant prior to 5:00 pm. We finally found a parking place in the rear just by luck. I think most people had to park on the street.
We were seated promptly in a room to the rear of the restaurant where the noise level was not too bad. There is a good amount of outdoor dining space where noise would not be an issue.
We were served water and chips and salsa almost immediately. Salsa was OK but the chips were thick and tough. The waiter took our order shortly thereafter. Here is where the experience fell apart. We waited a half hour for the appetizer. The entree was served after a shorter wait than the appetizer. The food was acceptable but nothing exceptional. After finishing our main course, we waited an extremely long time for the dishes to be cleared and our dessert served. We had to ask another server to find our waiter to help us or we would have waited even longer.
We were glad to try Paloma Blanca for a special price, but considering the parking, poor service and just OK food, we would not return for a second time.
Great Restaurant Week decision for lunch
Beautiful day made for great patio day
If you have not been please do go -
You won’t be disappointed!
Awesome food, atmosphere and service! A great place to go!
Great food, great service. The restaurant, however, sent a message to Open Table saying we did not honor our reservation. A bit backhanded.
Sunday brunch was delicious - chilaquiles! Great coffee and friendly, attentive service.
Food was cold.
Large loud groups.
Great service by Ramiro. Also the Food was very delicious. The freshly prepared Guacamole and the carne asada were awesome.
We were sitting in a booth and the a/c was blowing into our necks. That was the only thing that disturbed us.
I grew up in LA and like think I know good Mexican food. This is the real deal. My wife had a chili relleno, which was delicious and big enough to share. My chicken flautas were the best I’ve ever had. Yum!
Amazing and extensive gluten-free menu. The quality of the food was phenomenal. Everything was clearly fresh and made from scratch. There were some errors in bringing food that wasn't gluten-free to the table (even though we clearly wanted to keep the meal gluten-free for medical reasons), but we recognized it before anyone got sick and the waiter was quick in fixing it. Tequila-based cocktails were fabulous.
Although highly rated, we were not as impressed. Could have been an off night. Wish I could say better things.
Place was packed, our server ignored us, drinks sat empty on the table for half hour, even though other servers were walking by with full pitchers. Food came out wrong so I sent it back, only to have the exact same plate brought out to me 20 minutes later but THIS time the food was soggy and the beans were congealed. Thanks for confirming this restaurant is just as bad as we thought. We’ll take our $$ elsewhere from now on.
Always good food and service.
Uncharacteristically for this restaurant, the food was so-so; service was OK, the location is convenient for a luncheon date with friends. I am disappointed because the food had always been, if not extraordinary, at least goo.
Great food, great drinks, great service!
This restaurant holds special meaning for us, as it's the site of our first date. This week we returned to celebrate our tenth anniversary. We were looking forward to an evening befitting the special occasion. The hostess, who appeared more focused on a large party that was waiting to be seated ahead of us, simply raised two fingers, to which we nodded. She whisked us to a side table. So far, so good. Our server could not have been nicer or more efficient. He was great. But then everything changed when a large, excessively loud party was seated adjacent to us. The more they drank, the loud--and more obnoxious they became. And the less we enjoyed what was planned to be a special evening. We realize the restaurant has no control over such situations. Perhaps a quiet section? (Oh, neglected to mention that the table next to the big party group had a wailing baby!) All this said, the food was delicious, as usual. And our server was absolutely lovely.
Lovely decor and delicious enchiladas!
The food was excellent and the service by Ruth was superb! We really enjoyed being outside on the beautiful day! Thank you.
I would recommend to a friend as long as my friend did not pay in cash. I don't know if it is the restaurant's policy or just our waitress' policy, but I did not receive all my change, only the folding money. Waitress kept coins. Was not expecting this.
Consistently good food and service
Came across as ovet-rsted. Too large of a menu to control quality. Thus an average to slightly below average experience. Think a step above a chain but without a refined set of epicurean offerings
My favorite Mexican food place in SA. Food and service are consistently great. Only possible negative was enchiladas traditional were made with flour tortillas, Thought enchiladas had to be corn tortillas , encharitos are flour....Could be I’m just a misinformed gringo ;). Will definitely be going back
Very noisy. Slow service. Great food.
Luis our waiter was excellent!! He made sure my soup was Hot how I wanted it!! Thank you Luis
We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday and all family Members enjoyed the food n spending time with family!
Thank you Paloma Blanca
I never leave reviews however I am for this experience. Though I didn't have a bad time because I chose to not make a big deal of things. I chose this restaurant for my third year anniversary and the day I would propose to the one I love. Upon arriving the man at the front desk was awkward in our interactions and was acting as though my reservation was a strange thing. I knew nothing of what to expect including how busy the restaurant would be at this time. My reservation included the details that it was our anniversary and that I was hoping for a seat somewhere at least to the side or a little private. When the hostess came she took us right to the center of noise and the most non private place in the restaurant and when I asked to possibly be placed another place I was treated as if it was an annoyance and told everything else was closed. No respect, no decency, no consideration for such a once in a moment in my life! We still made the best of things and I will say our waiter was very polite and prompt. We chose to stay and made the best of it however I was disappointed in the overall experience. I did however redeem the day later with the one I love.
Eliana was a great server.
It was hard to have a conversation. The noise level was high.
The food was very tasty and portions were very good. The verde sauce stood out.
Absolutely tasty Mexican cuisine, with a good number of vegetarian options. It's a beautiful space! I wish more of the dishes could be modified for vegetarians, but all in all, tasty and relaxing.
Great table side guacamole, wonderful porch. We always make a trip to PB when we are in town!
It was the first day of restaurant week so we knew it would be crowded; Iliana did a good job as our server but it took forever and I would have been nice to get our guacamole served table side food eat while we were waiting forever r our food! Cerviche was great and tilapia was good too!!
Paloma Blanca is one of my absolute favorites in San Antonio!!!!
Great ambiance, good service and food was very tasty. I enjoyed 2 healthy fish tacos with beans, and rice. A favorite place for a nice gathering for lunch.
Another great experience at one my favorite San Antonio restaurants!
We drove in from Austin to have a lovely dinner!
Very noisy during Sunday brunch due to the number of large families and children playing video games with the volume turned on. Good food above average for a Mexican restaurant. Close to the airport if headed out of town.
