Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine
Book your next event with us
Excellent as always. We always go here for celebrations and holidays.
We took a scenic route from Austin just to have brunch at your restaurant. We couldn't have been more pleased. You have a beautiful restaurant with excellent food. Our server was a delight. I am a stickler on getting my food served at the proper temperature, and both of our selections were "spot on". We enjoy taking weekend road trips and Paloma Blanca will defiantly be a frequent destination in the future.
Thank you for your hospitality and we look forward to our next visit.
Great food as always!
Always a good choice for Mexican food.
We had dinner at Paloma Blanca for my husband’s birthday and every aspect of the meal was fantastic. Good drinks, great service, and the food was excellent, especially the ceviche! They had good gluten-free choices to accommodate my husband’s allergy, and went out of their way to ensure everything was correctly prepared and posed no danger to him.
The staff is somewhat rude. My friend ordered a lunch salad without meat and the waiter told her they couldn’t do that!! Um.. it’s a salad with a choice of chicken, shrimp or beef, so it’s added after the fact but he made her order a full salad that was more money! I’ve been here almost every week and I honestly love everything but some of the waiters! There are great servers there but it’s a luck of the draw!! Next time I will look and see who is working and request to sit in the friendly servers section. It seems to me that several of the male waiters seem to have an attitude and are not friendly or helpful. Considering they are providing a service where a tip is appreciated, you would think they would be friendly!! Just saying! The food is amazing, the place is lovely, the drinks are amazing but some of the waiters are not friendly and have attitude! I have considered switching to another restaurant for meetings and lunch dates for this reason!!
Nice place and friendly staff. Didn’t enjoy my food but probably more about me than the food! Didn’t acknowledge my mom’s bday despite it being obvious we were celebrating. Very loud at lunch time - hard to hear at a table of 7.
The service was really slow. I would have expected this if it was packed but it wasn't.
Great food at a reasonable price. Customer Services exceeded expectation. Quality of food was top notch.
We were celebrating an early Father’s Day. The food and service was excellent, as always.
Paloma is a family favorite and has the best patio in the neighborhood.
Thank you to Ana, our server.
I love this place their food is always amazing.
Overall fine. Was expecting to be wowed by the food. Found it bland unless loaded with their homemade sauces. Was only visiting for a few days, but definitely found cheaper and more flavorful food in San Antonio.
Great service, adult beverages were amazing, food was good.
Lunch specials were delicious & priced just right. Portions were generous. Service was attentive & spot-on.
Excellent brunch as always!
This was great for a group of 6 with a narrow window for lunch between meetings.
Excellent service and food. Our waiter was outstanding. Great place to celebrate Mother's Day.
Took my family out for a special occasion to this restaurant. They loved it—good food and apparently good strong margaritas.
Food and margaritas were great, however I did come for a event promoted by restaurant to start at 12 noon and it did not start until 2pm
Caldo de Pollo & rib eye steak were very good. Federico's service on the patio was outstanding.
Celebrated family birthday and was pleased with the overall experience.
Service shoddy. Soup and entree for one person arrived simultaneously but the other person’s entree was delayed 12 minutes. Quesadilla was cold and cheese only partially melted. Not an enjoyable evening
I was looking forward to dining at Paloma Blanca and having some really good Tex Mex. First the good. The ambiance and decor is attractive and upscale. The restaurant was busy for a Monday night, increasing my anticipation. People were definitely enjoying themselves, another good sign. Service was attentive and good. The disappointments: the food was mediocre. We started with the house margarita - very good. Then the guacamole made tableside, I would say that the preparer was indifferent at best and the results reflected that. It was definitely under-seasoned, it was almost like eating unseasoned avocado. Then we moved to the standby for any Tex Mex restaurant, the frajitas. As soon as we saw the dish, we knew it would not meet our expectations. It had the look of being on the grill too long. It was obviously prepared in bulk and left on the grill. When it came out, it look dry and almost gray. The taste reflected this. We come from Houston and "know" what good Tex Mex is and what good frajitas should taste like. Maybe the other menu items are good but unfortunately I will not be finding out.
It was good
But not the most
Fabulous, Luke we had been told. Maybe we ordered the wrong items!
Friendly and excellent service
Our server was so wonderful and the food was fantastic.
The gluten free menu is excellent!
Real Tex mex. great enchilada mole and tableside guacamole.
Wonderful evening with friends. The food was excellent and waiter so very understanding and attentive! It was a very special birthday celebration!
Only drawback was the noise level - which is much less when the restaurant isn't totally full.
The food and service were great! Love the live music and ambiance also...
Fantastic food and service. Thank you for the wonderful service for my and I.
Good food, great ambience.
Had a fabulous time with friends!!! Thanks PB!!!!
Second time I went there. First time food was great. This time, my food was terrible. My guest liked their food. Disappointing experience.
My group of friends and I had a delicious meal and a lovely time at Paloma Blanca. I am "the sauce queen", and not only was the chicken with half-and-half chipotle cream/cilantro cream beautifully presented, flavorful, and moist, but our server gladly brought me a side of their poblano cream sauce to try as well. The salad that accompanied my entree was crisp and bright tasting--a lovely counterpoint to the chicken with sauce. The only disappointment was the rice which looked good with the bits of corn and chile, but was very mild in flavor (sauces to the rescue!). The mole sauce on the chicken enchiladas ordered by one of our party looked amazing, and everyone cleaned their plates. I would gladly return and would have a difficult time deciding whether to order the same dish, or to try one of the others.
Great food, as always. My disappointment this time is that Open Table gave me the choice of indoor or outdoor seating when reserving, and I chose outdoor. When we arrived, we were seated inside. When I questioned this, I was told that the restaurant doesn’t take reservations for outdoor seating. The restaurant is very loud indoors, and I chose outside seating in order to have a quieter atmosphere for conversation with the out of town guests we were hosting. Seated inside as we were, it was difficult to converse, and that was disappointing. I am saddened and surprised that the restaurant did not honor the choice offered on Open Table, and was not apologetic at all regarding the confusion. Their customer service is usually top notch. It’s still one of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio; I’m just disappointed in this event.
Brought out of town family for dinner before flying back to east coast. I wanted them to have authentic Mexican food, not just TexMex.
I had a reservation but they sat us in the back room close to the family restroom. The only other people in there was a large Mardi Gras party of 16.
We felt discarded. It was a very weird atmosphere- I’ve never been seated back there - like an overflow room, not part of the beautiful restaurant.
Our server was ok. She was a newer hire and not the usual, wonderful, Latino waiters we love. I felt like we were in a chain restaurant.
Our glasses (water and margarita glasses) all had big chunks broken off. When I asked for a new one, she said “well, they are all broken”. I said it was very sharp and unsafe and she just shrugged. Again, I was embarrassed in front of my guests. Overall, i was so disappointed in the overall experience I may not be making Paloma Blanca my restaurant of choice for out of town guests, 😕☹️☹️☹️☹️
Great environment! Wonderful food!
Great cocktails, good guacamole, very mediocre food.
If weather permits, sit outside on the porch. The ambiance is worth it.
